"Realism" and a fine line between fun and it being too much.
Nibashe replied to Nibashe's topic in General Discussion
Just to be clear, I didn't help develop a massive MMO. I just worked for the company and was involved with different departments in which I had to translate technical terms into layman's terms. No, I am not afraid that the game will be too complicated for ME. I am not afraid that I will have no understanding about what is going on any more. However, all I am saying is that adding too many realistic features might change the fun into annoying real fast. That's all. I might be wrong, and I really hope so. We just have to wait and see. It is merely a suggestion. -

The way you talk, so condescending, is there a reason for it? Where did I mention I was a developer? I said I had my fair share of experience. I never mentioned I was a programmer nor a developer. I completely lack the technical skills for it. Maybe you should read before you sperg. I said it was merely my humble opinion and in no way I want to direct the devs in different direction than what they have in mind. I don't mind constructive criticism, however your way of communicating sounds completely irrational. -

Maybe I am making it too difficult as I did not see the end result yet. However with this being in a development phase, all input should be welcomed as long as it is in a constructed manner right? I agree that keeping yourself healthy is an important aspect of the game. You should not have to rely on another though to keep you healthy as this game is based on survival, which is in some situations easier by yourself. I would welcome a good health system and a way to maintain your character, however, then it should have an option to keep your stuff on a server after a restart so you can always keep yourself healthy by falling back on to your base (something as simple as a stash tent) with the risk if it being completely looted and destroyed by other players. -

Of course, I can see why people enjoy it. Like I said, people have different opinions about the game, and that's just how it is, and I don't mind whatsoever. I personally loved the system in the mod, maybe because I've joined it in a much later phase. I don't mind realism, but for me it goes until a certain extend. I was reading about a guy getting a random heart attack out of nowhere. It might not be accurate however random heart attacks caused by absolutely nothing is not something I would like to see in this game for example. Heatpacks, fires to dry yourself, medication and even the chance to build a lab and develop a cure for viruses and create these as well, that sounds absolutely great. I was merely talking about the random aspects of the human body. -

What are you talking about? You completely missed the point... -
This happened tonight, after being all around the map, from airfield to airfield, city to city, helping out strangers and equipping my friends... I go to Kamy, walk there from Electro... One of my friends who was just spawning there was being harassed by 2 fully geared guys, so I wanted to help out.. no problem, part of the game. I walk on the mountainside and I hear footsteps.. however, I don't see anyone...might be a sound issue. However, I decided to fire at where the footsteps where coming from, and this guy appears out of nowhere... I try shooting him again, and BAM, he teleports right at the other side of me, I try again, BAM, teleports the other way again... I grabbed my secondary rifle because the first one was almost out of ammo, and while he was doing this, he teleported right back at me and grabbed the gun that I dropped to get my second primary. He then immediately teleported away far from me and tried to fire at me with the 2 bullets that were in the chamber. This was NO syncing issue.. He teleported very strategically all around me. This also happened to two of my friends. Did anyone else encounter this ingame? It completely ruins the game, as it seems to happen more and more frequently. The first 2 times I thought it was a syncing issue, however tonight it was very clear that it was certainly not the case.

So I have a question regarding the recent spawnpoints. The reason I have these questions is because in my opinion, the currently selected spawnpoints limit the game in such a way that the places at the other side of Elektro such as Cherno, Bolota and other places are rarely visited. Now for some people this might be a good thing. "yay it's not busy, more loot for me". Okay, I understand you. Other people reason that when you spawn at the current locations you are equally far away from high loot places such as Elektro, NEAF etc. This might be true, however it is still limiting the area that most of the people can be arsed with to walk around in. Berenzino, yeah, it's alright however again, the amount of people suiciding from bridges and towers should say enough. Anyway, with this off my chest, I would like to know the following: Why did the spawns from before got removed? Places such as Komarovo, Kamenka, Bolota, Cherno... Yeah it might be "unfair" that people spawn at Bolota because of the immediate chance of better gear, however isnt that what this game is about? I'm not refering to getting better gear immediately, but I am talking about chance. The chance to spawn at a place such as Bolota, the chance of gearing up faster than others.... Some might say that if these spawn points get activated again, the chance of suicide at other places might even increase, however, limiting the spawns is not the way to go. In the Mod it was also left to chance, and instead of a decrease and massive limitation in spawnpoints (at the worst places possible) it would be nice to see an increase in spawnpoints. Personally I would love to see more spawnpoints inland. Move some things off the coast and let us spawn in places Pavlovo, Vybor, Zelenorgorks etc.. Spawning in the same 3 areas over and over makes it a more and more boring... I am not saying the game is boring.. I love the game, and I think the devs are doing a great job. This is just my opinion. something I hope might get implemented again in the long run.

Away, not neccesary, however, decreasing militairy loot is already going to be implemented to I do not see an issue with spawning at that side of the map any more. I hope this will be picked up as it would really make the game a lot more enjoyable and will let the new players enjoy a lot more content instead of following the rest of the sheep towards elektro only to be shot by the welcoming commitee

Why not spawn players randomly throughout the map?
Nibashe replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
Wow I just opened a topic saying the exact same thing haha. Just in many more words :D But yeah, I agree! -
So all the doubters in this topic, please... it is not desyncing.. another topic was opened by another player about the issue (plus 4 or 5 more topics since i've opened this one) This is exactly what was happening to me!

Hacker Report, Teleport, Weapon Spawn etc.
Nibashe replied to Apicalis's topic in General Discussion
If you can not see what is going on, then something is wrong with you, not the video. It's perfectly clear in the video you nitpicking ..... Anyway, yeah this happened to me as well.. Made a topic a few days ago which made it 4 pages long, until so far not a single response from the Dev team on any of these topics whatsoever... -
I really hope so. I just think it is strange that I've never encountered this before, and now me and 2 others I play with are experiencing the same thing (on different servers). So maybe it's a coincidence and I will not encounter it again, if so, I would be more than happy, however, if it happens again, I will see if I can get Shadowplay to record it and upload it.

I've opened up a topic about it last night as well. I know what desync looks like. This what you are describing and what I've seen as some of my friends, is NOT desyncing. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/173430-massive-exploithack/
-
Yes very funny, I was laughing all the time... <_< You do realize that even with a desync issue, the player still needs the same amount of time to go from A ====> B right? Now, if this player teleports 50 meters away from you when you try to hit him, then again 50m close to you, then teleports from a ROOF where he was shooting from right in front of you, it is not a desync. I KNOW what desync is, I KNOW how it works... this was not desyncing. It seems to happen more anyway.. look another topic: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/173506-the-hacks-begin/ I hope this can be solved. And to the person who claims I open this topic to sell/promote hacks because talking about these hacks would make it more "acceptable" for people to buy hacks..... You could not be more wrong. If people justify buying hacks because people on the forum decide it should be brought under the attention so that it can be stopped, then there is something wrong with their way of thinking, not mine.

For sure, I only play on battleeye enabled servers. I also did sign up for the bug report section, however after some time I still did not receive any confirmation e-mail and decided to make a thread about this as well so that maybe other players could share similar experiences. I'm happy that I do not see any so far though.. It gives me some hope to not see this happen too often.
-
Yes, please speak for yourself. I've spend a lot of time on the SA.. Before that I played the mod as well. I know when someone is having desync issues. I had them a lot of times myself. I've never had the issue with teleporting before until the last 2 days (I just came back from a 2 week holiday). It's not just me. At least two people I've been gaming with also said the same thing. "WTF, someone just teleported behind me, shot me, and that was that" It doesn't take a genius to figure out what a desync issue is and what a teleport glitch/hack is. If you are standing in front of someone and that person all of the sudden is 20 meters behind you, okay MAYBE that is a desync issue. However, when someone is on the hosipital roof shooting at you, and 1 second later stands next to you near the waterpump in electro and blast you in the face, you can do the math yourself. I also thought at first it was just desync until it happened to me. I really hope this kind of stuff doesn't happen to you though. I just wanted to bring it under attention so that the devs could have a look at it. If they can proof me wrong, then hey, I will accept it. It would be nice to see this as being confirmed or not.
-
It is clearly not, especially when it happens time after time.. Just google it. Also you can hear the guy screaming "what are you gonna do about it?" after he's being accused of the teleporting. I'm not here to discuss how authentic this video is. I'm saying that it is happening, and it's happening more and more.
-
check this, you can see him teleport to the other side.. It's a very short clip, but this happened to be any time I got close to him...
-
I youtubed and googled the issue and it seems it's quite common. I'm therefore very surprised that this has not been picked up yet. A simple search leads me to sites where I can just get the things I need for this. Maybe something to look into asap, as it completely destroys the game for the 99% of the honest players...

Critical Unplanned Update of 0.34 to Stable 7 February 2014
Nibashe replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
So I tested the experimental version in which they already applied the fix, and it's working great again! I'm so happy, and I can't wait until they roll it out on wednesday. -

Firestation rooftops are the first things I check in Electro and Cherno... It's probably one of the most obvious spots to hide. -
Guys, playing gas station roulette IRL is not as fun as it sounds :(

Nibashe replied to mattlightfoot's topic in News & Announcements
Rocket already put on twitter that they are working on it and it's of the highest priority. Abandoning your gear does NOT help whatsoever, as other players or loot in your vicinity also affects your fps. Especially in bigger cities obviously. Just wait for the fix, until then, we can discuss this, but the fact remains that we just have to sit back and wait for the fix, or submit your bug reports if you really feel like to help out.
