This sounds great. So in the interest of "balance" (lol, that thing that went out the window 8 versions ago), they're likely to make it so the dog only growls when players are close, and not when they're far. They're also likely to make it so the growl sound is "direct" i.e. anyone within audible range can hear it. So... Hmmm, I'm in a city, I'm hunting people and I don't know where my prey is. I walk past an office building and hear a low growl coming from inside. Bingo MF! Love it. :thumbsup: -
It happened because of crap coding. Not your fault. Bottom line: If you have a compass and good loot you want to keep, run SE for about 2 hours and you'll get back on the map. If you have crap loot and just want to start over by killing yourself, good luck, because rocket took out the respawn button. So NOW, in order to kill yourself and respawn, you're going to have to slowly die from thirst or hunger FIRST. lovely, isn't it.

Nice post man Although, my 2 cents: I'd like them to just fix the current ones, instead of spending development time on stupid dogs. Some fantastic highlights of the current situation: It takes 4 x .45 bullets to kill a guy (m1911, Revolver) = total BS It takes 2 x .303 high-velocity high-energy rifle rounds to kill a guy (Lee Enfield) = total BS wank

Having experienced first hand the DayZ DEVs' track record..... it's highly likely they will implement this "feature" with the same finesse, coordination and style.... as an F5 tornado. -
It's fucking ridiculous. this has happened 5 times now. either run to NWAF or somewhere-other-than-the-fukking-coast, log back in next time, spawned on coast. seems legit. This game logs EVERYTHING you do: - you take a bullet (logged and saved to your character safe and sound instantaneously) - hacker insta-kills whole server (logged and saved to your character safe and sound instantaneously) - you break your legs (logged and saved to your character safe and sound instantaneously) - you apply a bandage/morphine/get blood (hmm, low priority, game maybe it logs it, 5 minutes after the fact, so next time you log in you might still be near death) - you pickup a weapon or ammo (hmm, low priority, game maybe it logs it, 5 minutes after the fact, so next time you log in you might have buggerall where that weapon and ammo was) What dumb fukk coded that part of the game that somehow replaces legit HIVE data saved-at-logout XYZ coordinates (i.e. the player's location) with "spawn character somewhere randomly on the fukking coast"? and no, this game is NO LONGER ALPHA - it stopped being alpha a month ago -> this goes out to all the carebears who like to spread forum flowers and love instead of addressing the damn issue.

FAIL FAIL coding on the game joining system. In the recent patches for every 5 servers I join successfully there are 10 which hangs me infinitely on loading and so I have to alt-f4 = which is fantastic seeing as the fail coding will kick you back to the server.

this update does suck. don't bother fukking with your dayz or even dayz commander installation, it the underlying shitty code that's causing the stuck at loading problem -
Don't bother fukking with your ARMA/DAYZ or Battleye installation. It's all a HIVE problem.

this weekend was great: - 5 hours of gameplay, 2 hours of it stuck at loading (and then alt-f4ing to do it ALL OVER AGAIN) - spawned at coast about 3 times - AFTER having moved far inland (thanks to the inbred DEVs who can't rectify one bug without causing another..."Yes we're gonna cure your headache by blowing off your leg, yuppers, that should fix it" - graphical glitches (Balota, Cherno etc) still not fixed - hacking got worse (I especially love the AS50-radar-aimbot hack that's now making the rounds. one guy on a hill and the whole east side of elektro is practically dead) at least the DEVs are focusing on the important stuff: like spending time and effort on developing DogZ. and mystery features for the lulz.

http://youtu.be/2AQNWnvhVOQ?t=15 At roughly 20s you'll hear the classic snap/crack (as the bullet passes close by the camera) then shortly after the actual report or "bang" of the weapon (the gasses etc coming out of the barrel). When you just hear "bangs" you're fine. when you hear the snap/crack then rounds are close. In my post I was referring to the snap/crack. -

arma vanilla/dayz is shit in most things sound related. whether a person is shooting 30ft OVER your building (the one you're in and hiding) or whether he's actually shooting 2 inches away from your head, it all sounds the same. whether he's shooting through windows at another guy inside a building across the street or whether he's shooting at you in your building through your windows, it sounds the same. -

Yup, had that on several servers. On the 95417 beta I think. No pattern to the kicks. Just random - e.g. standing still checking my gear menu and then - POOF - kicked for script #55. Battleye - sitting in the corner, masturbating as usual and doing nothing else. Fantastic. -

so if a noobie (no offence to the poster, i'm being serious here) picks up a cool looking weapon, he could very well get banned without him knowing. why the hell hasn't DayZ staff made a post to present a visual reference - i.e. pictures and text - illustrating EXACTLY what weapons are allowed in DayZ currently. like e.g. "this weapon is legit" (picture of legit weapon). "it takes this ammo" (picture of legit ammo). simple. Hell, with all the rampant hacking - and battleye still just sitting in the corner masturbating about the matter (love that stupid random fact battleye keep touting) - it's needed! -

Regardless whether this admin uses this tool for "good" or "bad", it's sad that DayZ admins in general have to go rouge and to such measures to combat hacking... because the equivalent legit adminning facilities that are present in other games simply does not exist in DayZ. -

Yeah man. Thanks for going to all the effort and expense of hosting/admining a server. p.s. Hopefully this game-wide clusterfukk situation is alleviated at least a little in the near future. Although with the current engine nothing is probably going to be done - more important things like adding dogs to the game takes precedence.. -
Funny how it will save the **** out of your character the split second you die or take any damage.... but when you pickup any weapons or gear it takes 15 minutes before it saves that.
