I was going to rent a Private Shard today until I discovered you don't have access to Kill Logs. The Kill Logs are there so what gives? Otherwise it defeats the point of stopping hackers via private shard.

Yes and then no one plays on that server because admin abuse. But servers that are administered properly will have higher population and make the $ spent on server worth while.

Yes it is in Alpha, but this isnt a free Alpha. The consumers are providing servers for testing and funds to keep the project moving along. Private shards are extremely expensive and servers on public hive are just a joke. I think the private shard is a step in the right direction and appreciate their efforts. However, they are still holding alot of cards.

I use to play on an illegal private hive once. Guess what, no one cheated or dupped. Why? There was no battleeye running, so why no hackers? Because they would get banned and for good from the server. Same if you were caught with a glitched gun. Admins > Battleye.

For one, if you are killed by a hacker and are the admin you can easily see who killed you and who is hacking. If you receive multiple reports regarding a hacker just killed me and notice someone kill 5-10 guys in a few minute span, BINGO. Without being able to see players names this is the most effective tool for stopping hackers on your private shard. Otherwise how are you going to stop me from hacking on your shard? The kill logs can be abused by admins, duh they can also ban everyone if they want too. Defeats the point of spending 140$ a month though and have the server empty because of admin abuse. There will be good servers, like USC, who will ban hackers via kill logs. Fact is battleeye just isnt working at the moment due to the game in Alpha. Admins need better tools to regular their servers. This is just a suggestion.

This is a great topic! I think private shards are a HUGE addition to Dayz Standalone! It gives admins power and make renting a server more worth the costs. Does anyone know if Admins have access to any types of logs? For instance, if a hacker is going around killing people can he look at kill log and see who the hacker is and ban them?

Yes, I do mean that, wasn't trying to state it though. And no, no server gets shut down... ever... for any reason. Nor should it be with the outrageous cost to rent one. "You can rent a 40 person server for just 95$ a month! Oh but you can't kick anyone unless there hacking... oh did we mention that you cant' tell who is who and therefore can't tell who is hacking? So really you can't kick anyone. Oh but you can reset it! Did we mention if you reset it less than 2 hours you are breaking your terms of agreement? Oh and anyone can reset it too so lawl @ you" I'm definitely taking down my server soon. I wish everyone would stop paying for one and then Bohemia would have no choice but to give out more administration access to allow admins to actually "administrate" their server. Edit: I honestly feel like it is almost a scam to rent a server at this point.

I heard gernades no longer spawn in .46 but instead will be re-added in .48, is that true?

Players use to be much more spread out before .44.. Then it became a battle of the NE of the map. Is there any more dispersion or is it still all NE?

If you want to find people, head on up to the NE airfield or sit in the Berezino police station on a full server. :)

Well, the game definitely needed a new engine. I think its about time to put this game on the shelf for awhile and come back in a year or so. Seems like a lot of development needs to be done. Hopefully it will be pretty legit come next year.

Don't waste your money on a server. All you can do is restart the server when needed and kick people. Other than that, your just another player on it. Complete rip off.

It is 1 American dollar per 1,000 views(not including users with adblocker) In January his videos got 20,000,000 views. So if half of them had an ad blocker he probably got about 10,000 American dollars. In total he has about 300,000,000 views. So hes probably made about 150,000 American Dollars from his channel.

After going and watching both its obviously a voice changer. There may be a couple parts he added in but that would take up WAY to much time to get it all lined up correctly. I mean, you didn't even cut down your 2 hour video. It would take hours to line up a new voice to match each time he talks. Its not worth the time when he talks in high pitched voice alot in his videos anyways. But, I dont see any giltched ammo or glitch abuse by you guys so kudos to that. Anyone who doesnt glitch is A+ in my book.

This is so true, but same goes for college tuition. If students refused to go to college they would be forced to drop prices. But that will never happen...

Cheaters... My opinion... I think most cheaters grew up getting very little attention. Maybe they were bullied or picked on in school, maybe their parents just simply didn't love them. Whatever the case, because they may have had trouble in their lives they feel the need to ruin other peoples experience. They in fact enjoy killing someone by cheating. You ask why is it fun, they always start off by saying "I don't know" followed by a it just is or something similar. In the end, they are just very miserable and unhappy people. They unconsciously try to push this unhappiness onto others, but in the end they still go to bed unhappy and alone in this world. They may even think about killing themselves sometimes. So I instead feel pitty for them. They are just miserable people seeking some kind of attention because no one in their life cares for them. And if you are a cheater reading this, you may be thinking pfffft that's not me... Yes this is you.
