http://dayzdb.com/item/188-zsh3-pilot-helmet Pilot helmet has a ballistic protection of 0.7, the bal. helmets have a value of 1.5. Maybe it'll take a shot of 9mm or .45 ACP.

The U.N Helmet + Vest combo actually saved me another time, but I couldn't get a screencap of it. I was running out of a police station I looted with my fists up when a guy shotguns me. Twice. My legs broke and I fell to the street. I got my weapon out and called out to my group that the guy was behind a bus stop, and they shoot him down. Aside from busted legs and gear, I was completely fine. Here's the gear that blew up: U.N Helmet ruined Wool coat badly damaged Press Vest ruined Hunter pants ruined

I OHKO'd someone with the crossbow yesterday. It penetrated his black ballistic helmet and left him instantly dead. The helmet became ruined too. -

Pretty pointless, but I carry an FNX45 or a 1911. 90% of the time, your primary will be so much more powerful that it's pointless whipping a pistol out. @Mosin users that switch to a pistol Hint: Your primary can OHKO.

There's something seriously wrong with the item statuses. I was doing ballistics tests and I could never get consistent results against equipment that is roughly the same. For example, I had a run where the press vest absorbed every shotgun blast. In a second test, it only absorbed two shots.

I come a particular competitive game where the only way to go higher was to master the engine's quirks and glitches. There was no helping it, everyone used the glitches because the devs didn't fix them. If you refuse to use the game to the fullest, you are some sort of apologist. Who are you apologizing to? The only people that judge you are other players, and that's who you're trying to beat. -

That's not how it works. The entire point of gamma is to decrease the differential between bright and dark areas. If you do it from your drivers, there's not much of a difference. -

No. When you cry out and call GAME SETTINGS that should be universal to any game crutches, that's delusion. I'm on board with fixing game glitches, but trying to burn people for using them or for the use of game settings is pretty dumb. P.S I bloody hate the term "skill." It has nothing to do with the context of the game, you either get results or you don't. I don't measure group members by player ability, I measure them by results. -

1. When you want to get competitive, you'll always have voice comms. 2. Even if you patch gamma and brightness out, it'll still be available through drivers, hardware, etc. 3. Fucking boggles my mind. If you remove the FoV slider, the people with good aspect ratios and tri-monitor setups will have even more of an advantage. Personally, I think you need to git gud™. There's literally nothing wrong with players getting competitive, it WILL happen. -
I'd git gud and win a firefight, incapacitate the enemies and fix them up after I disarm them. That's implying I can't kill, of course. Personally, I think having a shotgun in any instance is bloody stupid because it either OHKOs or annoyingly blows up everyone's gear. Git a better gun for maiming.

I'm talking about damage calculation. There seems to be no difference in lethality getting shot a meter away and hundreds of meters away.

Okay, so I did some ballistics tests on a pristine press vest. The victim was fully healthy and had the press vest, a wool coat, and a mountain backpack on his torso area. 1 round 5.56 on front of pristine press vest = Vest goes to worn status, no bleeding, strong pulse 1 round 5.56 on front of worn press vest = Vest goes to ruined status, no bleeding, strong pulse 1 round 5.56 on front of ruined press vest = Vest is still ruined, victim bleeds and goes unconscious, steady pulse The victim's then patched up with an epipen and a bandage. 1 round 5.56 on side of ruined press vest = Vest is still ruined, victim bleeds and dies, zero pulse, the wool shirt noticeably degrades in condition. I didn't have a UK vest to compare the stats to, but apparently the press vest does do something against ballistics. WOBO did a video testing the vest with punches and said it didn't offer more protection than any other vest item. We'll see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTSKNdi80RE Edit. Afaik, kinetic energy loss and other kinks haven't been implemented yet. If a round hits, it'll always do full damage regardless of how far away the bullet traveled.

I also did a test with a worn U.N Helmet. I'll tl;dr: it. -Worn U.N Helmet blocks one shot of 5.56. The helmet doesn't need to be pristine. -The protection applies around the entire face. Pegging a guy's face with 5.56 when he has a helmet on will not kill him.
