This is a video game. I think you need to get a reality check.

I take these magazines whenever I find them. And I do use them. It's definitely not my job to be the moralist.

They're kinda buggy. You need to drag them into your hands or hotkey it and press M2. The animation isn't very good and you have to stand up to use them.

Dunno about you, but I've never died in Balota. I usually went with a buddy and looked at all of the buildings.

Usually happens in experimental mode where stuff gets taken quickly. I find pistols and fire them California style.

2 rounds of 5.56 later and I'm still alive.

But WOBO's videos are wrong. I've even posted a thread with ballistic testing on the press vest. And you can't even wear a down jacket with a vest item. Moot point. P.S Didn't post this, but the Press Vest completely negates at least one round of 7.62x51mm. It absorbs the entire shot, the damage doesn't spread to items behind the vest.

DayZ's urban combat feels like an on-rails shooter with inaccurate guns. You pray for your guns to land hits because they're of questionable accuracy. Not to mention how there's almost no dynamism. There's no system to support complex combat movements such as quick relocation and taking cover. To move around fast, you have to use a clunky mechanic to take away your gun. There's no supported firing positions. Taking cover is just hiding behind a corner. You can't run AND shoot, no no, you have to slow to a crawl like in on-rail shooters. You're not giving the choice to players to do feasible things. It should be more complex than this. It feels like CoD so far. I've seen the Arma 3 combat stance system and DayZ should not be this dumbed down.

The crossbow feels like something that came from CoD or the Battlefield series. Ballistic protection needs to apply at least partially, because they don't. I shot a guy in the helmet with the xbow and he died instantly.

Seriously though, my entire group uses an armored U.N outfit that includes a blue helmet and press vest. We get shot just as much as we normally did without the U.N gear. Granted, we live way longer now because of the ballistic protection.

I gave up the camouflage nonsense. I wasn't the type of player that would zone myself so that it would actually work, so I moved to the cool-looking civilian gear and stopped using the hunting backpack. It's impossible to blend in with a press vest anyways, so I just go with a blue outfit.

I was in Elektro. It's weird, I've seen a bunch of lightly equipped players. My group was fully armed, and there was a massive disparity of power. There were no other groups that we could pick a gunfight with.

Maybe if you're playing lone. I don't see how newspawns can sneak up on a group.

Step 1. Admit you just want to shoot people and look like a good guy doing so.

Just wear a motorcycle helmet, Jesus Christ. I don't bother attacking those people because it's nearly impossible to knock them out. Have none of you ever brawled with other newspawns with a helmet on?

The U.N Helmet + Vest combo actually saved me another time, but I couldn't get a screencap of it. I was running out of a police station I looted with my fists up when a guy shotguns me. Twice. My legs broke and I fell to the street. I got my weapon out and called out to my group that the guy was behind a bus stop, and they shoot him down. I OHKO'd someone with the crossbow yesterday. It penetrated his black ballistic helmet and left him instantly dead. The helmet became ruined too.

I don't go looting for the high-end stuff anymore. It's easily available by going to a hospot and killing someone for it,

Pretty pointless, but I carry an FNX45 or a 1911. 90% of the time, your primary will be so much more powerful that it's pointless whipping a pistol out. @Mosin users that switch to a pistol Hint: Your primary can OHKO.

There may be a group or two from time to time, but it's no longer the urban battlefield it once was. I kinda miss it.

There's something seriously wrong with the item statuses. I was doing ballistics tests and I could never get consistent results against equipment that is roughly the same. For example, I had a run where the press vest absorbed every shotgun blast. In a second test, it only absorbed two shots.
