Yes. The salt vests and most other vest items have 0 ballistic protection. The ballistic helmet has 1.5, which blocks up to 5.56x45mm. And the press vest has 2.0, which (from my own testing anyways) blocks one shot of 7.62x51mm.

A buddy gave me a press vest on regular. Think he told me it was from a train station. Stole a worn one on HC, then killed another person for a pristine one. Found a damaged press vest in experimental .44 in THE POLICE STATION (of Elektro). A zombie hit me and it upgraded to pristine. And you don't want an anti-stab vest unless you're going for looks. It doesn't actually block damage, but it prevents bleeding (something the Press Vest also does, along with block bullets). The stab vest also has no slots. I'd like to point out that canned peaches are one of the most well-rounded food items in the game. >one-slot >energy dense >provides adequate hydration too http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Consumables Its caloric density is only beaten by items that don't have hydration, like rice.

Magpul M4 and either of the .45 ACP sidearms. Sometimes if I'm bored I'll borrow a nugget from a marksman.

Windows 8 has slightly better performance than 7. -
You can head into a fight with all of your bars maxed as a preemptive measure, as to increase the chance of surviving things. Why not apply this same concept to consumables? I'm all for adding proactive aspects as opposed to reactive. Epipen: Delays a knockout from a non-fatal blow for 30 seconds. Morphine: Keep going for 30 seconds after one of your limbs break. Charcoal tabs: Lower chance of food poisoning for 30 minutes. Vitamin Bottles: Decreased chance of getting a debuff condition for 30 minutes. Painkillers: No grunting after being hurt for 5 minutes.

I'd like to see it be decent, but Rocket will probably make it worse than the M4's handling.

Bodies despawn. The models don't necessarily disappear, but the ability to loot it always goes away in 10 minutes.

You guys are disappointing me. http://dayzdb.com/item/564-firefighter-axe Shock (Head) ?10000 You will go unconscious if your shock value > blood value. Maximum blood is 5000 units. One hit with the FAxe will knock someone out cold if they don't have any protection on the head. The FAxe also has more range than fists, makes the victim bleed, and has utility. There never was another comparable melee weapon besides maybe the pitchfork, which has more range and somewhat comparable stats. There's also the new pickaxe, which has about the same stats as the FAxe.

My buddies and I went to Berezino for some stupid shenanigans. Got killed by a semi-automatic nugget and spawned 100 meters away from my body.

It doesn't matter yet. The current ballistic helmet applies protection around the entire head.

Most of the gun's performance is in the upper receiver group. Superficial parts don't seriously affect its function.

You probably didn't notice them because night and some weather cycles were disabled before .44.

MP M4A1 ≈ Top-tier nugget > SKS > Stock M4A1

I picked up a stack of 100+ 7.62x39mm when I was brawling in experimental .44. It's actually a thing.

Nope. Items inside clothing don't give protective status yet (it might actually be the opposite).
