Apply morphine or a splint and you can walk again. The controls are generic FPS. There's no mystery to the controls unless you haven't played an Arma or Operation Flashpoint or similar.

No side chat. The walkie talkies have a 2 km range or so, for voice chat, not sure if they work with direct chat. You have to be on the same channel as the other party or parties. You also have to put a battery in and turn them on.

Fair enough. To answer the question: AMD is always going to be the lesser, in terms of ability to crank out processing power, but with roughly half the price point of the intel equivalent (probably an i5 in this case). They work fine for most games. I've seen Dayz run on both and fail to see much of a difference. GPU is more important for the majority of games (upcoming 64bit only games excluded, that's where you should see a bigger performance gap).

Yeah that's shock, it can cause you to go unconscious if it exceeds current blood (or is it health?) level, but dissipates very quickly. The shock obviously didn't exceed the blood (or health?) level, so it's below ~4500 (probably 3000ish) which would have faded in ~3 seconds irrc.

It appears to be measured in kbps (adding together both directions I'll assume). For example when my bandwidth is 2500, I see around 2.5% utilization of my 100mbps LAN, or 2.5mbps. It seems to suck on as much teat as you'll allow it, I've seen the bandwidth number hit 4000, which, while not tested, would be 4mbps if my theory holds. I've never seen it tax the full 30mbps u/50mbps d that is the whole of my connection, so apparently it does have at least SOME limits, but yeah, it wastes band like no other game I've ever played. I would assume the netcode has not been optimized in the slightest. Edit: desync appears to be measured in ms, but only up to 10000 or something.

Also, 2 hives. Hardcore and normal characters do not cross between. So you may have joined the other hive.

Yep desync. I don't see anyone checking the adversary's bandwidth during these fights, but I bet it's below 100.

The first day I played someone ran up on us at the airfield and killed one of my guys, so I put the entirety of a 40 round mag in him. I killed his sniper buddy shortly after.

I've had the hive not work and keep coming up as a freshspawn. Easiest way to tell is you always spawn up in a different place. I quit for the day and the next day I had my character back, but he had lost the most recent server I'd played on, about 7 hours worth of work.

Yeah I watch them from close proximity from the second they sign off so I get to see the full animation in some detail. It's hilarious. Edit: I also timed it, it lasts exactly 30 seconds, as the patch notes said.

Mother of god. You do NOT get it. Dayz MOD was broken not because of modding, but because it was a mod. Vanilla will always stay vanilla in dayz SA. It would be insane for a game that wouldn't exist if not for its popular mod spawning a whole sub-genre of games to not support modding, at some point, after release. If someone makes a better metagame out of the core DayZ game with a total conversion mod and the playerbase moves to that mod... well, the child has become the father at that point.

Dude, early access. You want to play that PvE nonsense wait for it to be implemented in the form of private servers that don't impact the normal game's hive. It's not like I kill the bambis on sight - unlike most I suppose. They have to do something wrong first, like come within 100m of me, use voice chat within my hearing radius, look directly at me - there has to be some sort of provocation before I consider them a target. I mostly hunt and kill other bandits. Heroes are my preferred targets, but they're rare to come across and are by far the most challenging fights. That's what I'm really after, a challenge. There is 0 challenge to the PvE in this early build. Nada. Nothing. The PvE game is get fireaxe -> be god against PvE. I would socialize more but I refuse to use VC and when I start direct chatting my character's head bobs around like a jackoff showing in no uncertain terms that I'm direct chatting and the players are often too stupid to notice that I'm direct chatting at them because it's a 7 pt font in the corner of the UI. I see no point in helping people like this, I liken it to coddling. I have no incentive to kill them because I consider them low hanging fruit. Loot has never been my motive and I almost never loot the bodies that drop unless I spot an 800m scope or something on their gun.

Why can't you people just defend yourselves when attacked? My god you'd think this was baby's first survival game...

While I don't know the official stance on the issue, I've seen this most consistently linked to bad net connections. So it's safer to stick with servers you ping really well to (for a few reasons...). Other than that, I've found that eventually you log in if you wait long enough on the please wait phase. Or get a desync kick.

That video is so damn grainy I can't tell what the hell is going on (480p you serious?). Are you sure? If they had server console access they could reboot the server - before the death is reported to the hive I bet. They may have just been strategically rebooting the server. Again, recording in 480p is like those bigfoot photos everyone's on about. I can't tell shit about what's going on from your video.
