You can load up Chernarus+ in ArmA3 and take screenshots as a little bird in spectator mode (IE up in the air seeing a large portion of the island). So I'm told, I haven't tried it.

Bug is as old as the alpha. It does seem to hit in "waves" though, where I'll see a rush of forum posts and updates to the bug tracker (and team members getting wiped for no reason). It does seem to be hive communication problems that cause it, perhaps a server is mid-write on the hive update when the communication cuts off, resulting in a corrupt save? Best guess, it would certainly fit with my "laggy servers" theory.

I got reset. It seems that not all servers are created equal. For example, I never get reset on Orcz (the lowest latency server) but get reset randomly upon joining a high latency server.

There's only ever one team on QA, and that's QA. Things aren't worked on one at a time, they multitask. Still I feel the most vocal issues (wipes or hacks, depending on whom you ask) are somewhat ignored, because of the complexity of the underlying problems. Really though, how many people do you really think are on the project? Bohemia only employs around 200, according to wikipedia's best guess. I realize that these sorts of issues get fixed with time, but this is one of the first hundred bugs reported and is still ongoing. And you're right, that was the other guy, scruffy.

O.o Yeah I could see why that might be a priority issue. I still think the hive wipes/server blacklisting are more important though. It is, in fact, if the upvotes indicate severity. I definitely do not see that bug... at all. I don't know exact framerates because I don't have a 3rd party overlay (I assume you guys are using MSI afterburner for the FPS readings, I still haven't gotten a straight answer on that one) but I don't see any discernible slowdown in cities, at all. It's far more likely that specs don't have anything to do with it, but it's not a universal experience, and it really rides my ass when people call me ignorant for not falling for the same bug as they do.

Overspend? This shit ran me like a grand. I already had the cards from the previous rig, so I didn't count that in the initial cost. I wouldn't even consider it ideal as the cards are kind of dated. I just asked my teammates about the bug after that nonsense earlier and they said it's "a baddie issue" and Hall was on it (which I already knew) so finally I understood. Then I get spawn wiped by Jesus and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the evening. Ill informed? Best answer I have so far is servers don't configure hive settings correctly (which I've seen first hand, some hardcores hit the normal hive for example). If you've got some better explanation please share.

I can hit either coast, and some Canadian servers. Euro or further is out of the question though. So that's about the "range" best as I can tell unless you have google for your ISP.

I would have gone to Vybor but then I signed in to a server that started spouting off Christian mythology in the server messages and instantly wiped my character. I love how there's all this focus on a bug that only impacts ghetto rigs yet the character wipe, which is bug number 78 with around 800 upvotes is still killing characters? Can we blacklist the servers that screw us over or is there any kind of warning or any ability to tell if a server is running the correct software stack? No, instead we get a possible fix for a ghetto rig FPS bug. Forgive my inability to give a shit.

Nah, I would think I would notice. Perhaps there's an imperceptable drop (like 1-2fps)? I'm running it off an SSD, 16GB of RAM, i7 (not overclocked) and twin GTX 650 in SLI. Again, if there's an FPS monitoring option, like a command line switch then I could know for certain, otherwise it's just smoke and mirrors and so on.

Lol. If I had FPS slowdown in the big cities I would have to turn on FPS monitoring (which I'm not sure how to do) to even be able to tell. I've never once seen FPS drops (excluding that bad update that they pushed a bit ago, right before this hotfix, that was pretty bad).

They did reference adding new towns in that general area. You are probably correct.
