  1. Like I said in a post above yours, 9 times out of 10 people aren't going to be friendly and just attack you on sight no matter what you say or do. I try to be friendly and make a difference in-game but in the end everyone just ends up being a little fucker and tries to kill me no reason other than it is funny to them. I guarantee that majority of players never been on the forums either so that makes it even harder to make friends. I also shouldn't be forced to scavenge forums to find other like-minded players. Therefore, this IS an issue for the developers to solve. Otherwise, they might as well change the name of this game to Chernarus Death Match.
  2. Yeah and those positive social interactions are very few and far between. I guarantee you that 9 out of 10 times you approach a random person in DayZ, they are going to end up attacking you instead of engaging in conversation and generally being friendly.
  3. Plain and simple the game needs more substance. I know it is still early alpha but if there isn't any incentive to befriend strangers or do things other than hunt other humans for sport, what the fuck is the point of the game?
  4. You are proof that common sense isn't that common. Why don't you take a minute to actually contemplate what would go down if there really was a zombie apocalypse. It sure as hell would be different than people ignoring the zombies and just hunting other people for shits 'n giggles.
  5. You do realize that most people don't have a large group of friends that can always be online to hold down your town, right? It is people like you(SoulFirez) that will never allow this game to be anything more than spending all day/night hiding on hills or rooftops sniping everyone who goes past your area. People don't like to play games ONLY when their friends are online or even to just do their own thing solo. Some might prefer soloing but I'd be willing to bet that most people do not. A lot of people want some positive social interactions, not just cold blooded killing for lulz. If that is what you want, why don't you stick to Call of Duty or one of the many other different competitive shooting games?
  6. Well, they DID make the game without any incentive to be friendly. That makes it their problem to fix. If the game is supposed to be a simulator, it should be more realistic because in real life I highly doubt everyone is going to just kill you on sight without even talking to you. Of course, there would be bandits but I think people would be more inclined to rally together for the greater good, which would be survival.

Glock 18 just out of curiosity

There is already a ton of American items in the game, so what is the issue? Also, there are American troops in damn near every country in the world. What makes you think they wouldn't be in Chernarus. Especially, if shit is hitting the fan in a worldwide zombie apocalypse.
  8. If we have the ability to fortify an area I am cool with that. The main issue is the fact that if you want to find other friendly people to trade with and/or help you defend your base of operations, you need to waste time outside of the game on the forums to make that happen.
  9. No, I didn't play the mod and obviously everything isn't the same and won't be the same as in the mod. Yeah, I play with a group sometimes but they are not always online so I have to do things solo. Who says I couldn't get all of the parts I need solo to fix up a vehicle? If anyone is being rude, it is YOU. All you have done is be a negative Nancy. You are the one whining right now. I have no problem surviving and if I do get killed, oh well, I will be geared up again within a couple of hours. Having something that would provide some positive interaction between random players isn't going to hurt you or the game.

Just because you think it is stupid and hollywood, doesn't mean that everyone shares your opinion.
  11. This could be an option once we can at least build fences and have storage lockers. You could search the person as they enter and take their weapons, then stash them in a locker with a note that says their name and everything that was taken so you can make sure they get their stuff back as the leave.
  12. Are you retarded? Obviously, you would repair a vehicle out in the world and drive it to the barter town. Get your supplies then GTFO and go about your business. How is having a place that is not 100% safe, but relatively safe going to hurt you? It won't and you just can't stand the idea because you personally do not like it. Have fun being one of only a handful of DayZ players in the world after everyone gets bored from the lack of positive human interaction and the constant KOS bullshit.
  13. That is not socializing, that is being a scumbag.
  14. You know damn well that you don't ever hang out at any of the castles.

Glock 18 just out of curiosity

No. The light goes through walls and gives away your position at night. It doesn't matter what you do and it probably will still be an issue after the official release of DayZ.
  16. Having a vehicle to escape or at least attempt to escape safely would be great.

Glock 18 just out of curiosity

I would LOVE to have the Glock 18 in the game and extended clips for it and the FNX 45.
  18. It doesn't have to be somewhere huge or near a high traffic area. It could be set up at one of the castles that is unused and pretty far off the beaten path. I don't want a magical place with no absolutely no violence and I would be fine with people using fists and knives because you can survive those attacks but the attacker could also be ganged up on by all of the other friendly people and killed. It doesn't need to be 100% safe but not allowing the use of guns or large and overpowered melee weapons such as axes would be nice. Also, nothing would stop you from hiding just outside of the area and getting your rocks off by killing people as they run out.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

    *snickers* I prefer Astroglide.
  20. Nobody is asking for fucking NPC's. Just a safe place to barter with other players who aren't assholes and get their rocks off hunting other players unaware of their presence until shots are fired or they suddenly die. Some people want some kind of positive interaction with other players without being forced to join/start a clan or browse the forums for other friendly players.

Melee weapon player damage isn't right.

When you run into something such as 5 hits from a firefighter axe to kill someone, either you have a badly damaged axe or you or possibly the other person is suffering from some type of lag or desync, making the situation more difficult than it should be.
  22. That is your opinion of what should and shouldn't exist in a simulator. The game supposedly being a simulator(simulates real life) there SHOULD be a safe zone(barter town). The bottom line is, we need more incentive to play the game other than to be a dick and kill people who are unaware of your presence. I don't even have 100 hours in the game yet but I am already starting to get a little bored because once you gear up, you can't even interact with 99% of the people you see because of the kill or be killed mentality that is going around. If you want to camp the entrance/exit of the area, you go right ahead but that is where having vehicles would really come in handy. You could attempt to make a safe getaway a lot easier with a vehicle than on foot and you could also pay other players to give you a ride in their vehicles and drop you off somewhere outside of the hot zone. If you think about it, there are tons of ways to implement a safe zone and still leave something for the KOSers to do. They could also have vehicles and chase you down and steal your vehicle. All of this provides new types of gameplay and a more interesting time for everyone.

This is what THEY think of US!

That was a pretty good representation of the DayZ community.
  24. Well, you could disable weapons while in the safe zone(barter town) and only be able to use your fists while inside the walls. That way if you act up, people can gang up on you and serve you a little justice for disturbing the peace.
