I thought the point of the game was to survive a zombie apocalypse, not asshole kids from Call of Duty. Yes, the game is PVP... until private servers are allowed. People shouldn't be chased away from the game if they would prefer to have positive interactions with other players or role-play as a doctor who helps people. If you don't like how other people are playing a game that has no official rules or way to play and they paid for, perhaps it is YOU who should go play something else because it is obviously not the game you want to play.

I am currently playing on experimental servers but always traveling from place to place. Amazingly, I have only run into polite survivors that I conversed and traded supplies with.

For the people who actually cannot speak this would be a great addition but for the people who just don't own a mic, you can afford to spend $10 on a cheap Logitech mic from Walmart if you can afford a PC capable of playing DayZ and $30 to buy DayZ itself, if have to worry about waking people up at night, go to bed!

If you read the DayZ rules, you would know that we are currently NOT allowed to have PVE servers and what is the fun in playing on a server by yourself? Also, if you read any of the other posts I have made in this thread you would know that I feel it is cowardly, but I am not going to get upset and cry about it on the forums. Yeah, I play DayZ but I usually venture far away from the coast. I also, know that there are ways to escape snipers and how characters act when they are logging out. You obviously have never witnessed someone logging out since they implemented the 30 second rule.

I didn't miss your point like you missed seeing the search bar. Try using it and you will find that there have been thousands of threads on the same subject already.

So you guys were looting on empty servers and most likely server hopping then get pissed when the ONE other person on the server gets shot at by 3 people says fuck this and logs out. Cool story, bro.

I think combat loggers are cowards but I am not going to cry foul and tell them to quit the game. They will just get taken out by someone else on a different server. I can also feel sympathy for them because they might have spent the past three days getting sniped on the coast only minutes after spawning and when they finally get some gear, some asshat shows up and tries to kill them.

How is it cheapening the experience for the people who don't wish to engage in PVP? Not everyone gets their rocks off by hunting other players for sport. Also, thanks to the people who server hop for loot, your character stays on the server for 30 seconds before being removed. If you think you are some sort of badass player hunter, learn to track and take the risk of running around a corner only to be shot in the face for fucking with the wrong person. Just because you lose sight of someone, doesn't mean they combat logged either. They might spend the next 20 minutes hiding and waiting for you to come into their line of sight and get their revenge. You obviously can't handle losing track of someone or them combat logging so maybe YOU should quit. How the fuck do you even know someone is combat logging if you are 300M or further from them and don't give chase when you don't kill them?

Apparently, common sense is not something you have so I will try to ease your pain. Most people don't mind being robbed or killed, it's the fucktards who sit on the coast and kill people who just spawned that people have an issue with.

If you can't handle people combat logging go back to Call of Duty. It isn't cheating or abusing the system. Their character is still in the game for 30 seconds before being removed from the server.

Trying to save your own life is a valid reason to combat log. What is the valid reasoning for sniping someone who isn't aware of your presence and isn't a threat to you? Oh shit... they are both valid reasons because that is how you choose to play.

They are just logging out and most likely going to switch servers in hopes of finding less hostile people. Also, people wouldn't combat log if there wasn't so many douchebags who get their rocks off by killing or attempting to kill every person they come across who isn't in the VOIP group.

They aren't cheating and you have 30 seconds to kill them. It is YOUR fault if you are not actively pursuing them so you are able to find and kill them before the 30 second timer is up. Maybe you should work on your marksmanship as well.

I am defending people playing how they want to. I don't combat log, so why exactly should I go play a different game?

Combat logging equals not getting killed and playing your own way. Believe it or not, some people would rather have friendly interactions rather than all out PVP like Call of Duty.

I don't combat log and will take a death like a man but combat logging is no more cowardly than people shooting fresh spawns. The bottom line is, if you are not killing someone in self defense or for their loot, you should probably go back to playing games like Battlefield and Call of Duty.

It is a sandbox game with no rules and if someone doesn't want to get robbed/killed by some douchebag, so be it. They are well within their right to "combat log" if they feel the need. Combat logging is not cheating. Sorry to burst your bubble, little man.

Personally, I break down and clean my firearms after every outing. That way I NEVER have to worry about some sort of failure that could have been avoided. I believe that players should be forced to clean their weapons on a regular basis or be forced to deal with misfires and items becoming ruined.

Actually, you will know exactly when someone is logging because their character sits down, lays down, stands up and goes through a ton of motions for 30 seconds before actually logging out completely. Thanks for commenting on something you know absolutely nothing about though.
