    Really love the hawk idea. Having a spotting bird would be so cool. I do think what you've outlined so overly complex and though realistic, might not be as fun.

    Making the forest denser in parts, with maze like trails leading through it, loads of dead ends etc might be really interesting. The dense forest might make it much darker also. Then parties of survivors are likely to get separated and easy to pick of one by one. Zombies creeping on you, following you down dead ends. And have lootable dead bodies in parts of the forest too, survivors that didn't make it. Also, another suggestion on this forum to add fog could work very well in a deep, dark, dense forest. Lose your bearings like crazy. Make the destination/summit worthwhile by having some decent loot and spots to stash gear etc.

    Just watched Frankie's latest video on Arma3 DayZ mod and the map changes from summer to winter. Pretty cool effect but didn't see any storms or anything too savage so I'm sure could really be beefed up for SA.

    Gta5 released a special winter version of their map. It wasn't a new map, but a type of overlay and atmospheric effect combo that was super effective. I see no deal breaking technical reason why DayZ can't have seasons. Especially considering Dean successfully synced rain across servers and clients and also the compelling video evidence of procedural snow generation posted above. In my opinion, seasons would be near the top of Deans wanted features list as it greatly enhances the environmental survival aspect of the game. Wounding an animal/player and tracking it via blood trail through the snow is a scenario that needs to be in this game, regardless of how well The Last of Us pulled this off (via Hannah)

    Yes. Hair/beard growth by length of life would be so epic. Bumping into a dude/chick with a massive beard/super long locks would be so much freakier. And of course cut and/or style with any sharp object/blade. Bayonnet mohawk FTW.

    To those who dislike the new combat logging timer

    So funny, but did he not kill the guy before the timer ran out? or does a dead body even disappear after the timer runs out? Either way I feel the timer should be longer. As suggested before in this thread, I think the location you log should modify the timer, eg; The standard (blind) logout timer should be: 2mins and the modifiers: Inside a building: -30seconds Using a bed roll / sleeping bag: -30seconds Using a tent (only possible outside): -60 seconds or some type of system where items/location affects the timer like this, could really add value to the items/locations. What do you think?
