They haven' been removed. I found a couple at the NEAF today, sporting the black one atm. But I can safely say, that unlike the chest holster, the tac vest are super rare.

Please add a death playback /killcam optional function into the GAME
Spiderdude20 replied to msy's topic in Suggestions
Gonna post my piece before the haters, trolls, and 'others' roll in here and kill it with fire. My reasoning for not seeing this as working is, well, maybe in games like CoD where the map is small, and it's easy to get a fix on the location your killer was. but in Day Z, the map is HUGE, and depending on where you were killed and who killed you, it's very likely that by the time you get back to your original position, that guy has either moved on, got killed himself, or logged. -
That would be pretty cool. though wonder if it would be the same with text?
-
Might be useless, but who wouldn't love to just handcuff someone, then ducktape their mouths, and make them wet themselves thinking you're gonna do horrible things to them. Lets keep those fingers crossed! :)
-
I apologize if this has already been answered, since I skipped ahead and didn't bother reading the next 12 pages :P, but how do you get onto the experimental servers?
-
I can clearly see that. But I'm going to tell you to chill anyway. It's just a game. By the way, what do you think of the KOS problem going on right now? :P
-
Judging from the last 3 or so pages of this thread, you've trash talked, called other people morons, and tried making yourself look like the better man. Honestly I loved seeing you rant and rant and rant, but the stupidity meter in my brain has it's limits. So I figured I spill gasoline into the fire before it did blow, causing a real zombie apocalypse. Now who wants cake!

lol. See, you'd be better wasting your time trolling people on the forums. You're actually learning! :O

Before a mod comes by and closes this piece of shit, I'm going to point out what everyone else has pointed out. Even if you have WAY too much free time on your hands, you are griefing...NOBODY! NOBODY! NOBODY and... NOOOOBOOOOODYYYYY! Why? It's because even if you stick by the coast, most players will realize that they can go in land to find better shit! Or just switch servers! Ruining items by hitting it with a sharp stick will change.... NOTHING! Hiding it in the woods changes...NOTHING! Hiding shit on one of the nearby islands that everybody misses changes... everyone say it with me now...NOFUCKINGTHING! Want my suggestion to grief players? Kill them. Rob them, poison their food. Handcuff them and infect their blood. Force them to drink disinfectant and watch them die a painful death. Strip them naked, tie them to a tree and signal zombies that it's dinner time. All of those things, are a better waste of time, than the stupid shit you are doing right now. Even posting this, which won't go into your head, and will make you act like an immature teenager, because kids aren't this immature, is a better waste of fucking time.

Who wants to form a sweet settlement way up in the northwest?
Spiderdude20 replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
Although people already offered their services for security and looting, I'll still chip in. When vehicles are introduced, I'll be driving down to cities farther away for stuff. -
The most underrated City on the Map
Spiderdude20 replied to Gandalf the White (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Tell that to Chuck Norris.:D -
I thought it was common knowledge that the coast/ military bases/ and electro were all deathmatch areas?
-
My two sense. I found that if I tried using the Mosin without a scope, forget it, you might as well be shooting blanks. SKS on the other hand I don't need a scope and can actually hit something. With a scope, I can hit the side of a mountain with the Mosin, and the same with the SKS. It's preference really.

The most underrated City on the Map
Spiderdude20 replied to Gandalf the White (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Either this guy is a sniper wanting to blow the brains out of newbs going to the town, or he wants Electro cleared out so he can loot without worring about being shot on sight. If the town is a goldmine for stuff, DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT! -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
Spiderdude20 replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
So much doom and gloom... come on guys! the end of the world is only in the game! It's not like there will be nuke perks put in or anything... *Holds back the rampaging cod kiddies* My opinion on this however, is that if Dean is absolutely 100% confident that the game will be ready for release in the ten months time during the beta phase, and the team he's leaving it to will continue adding awesome things after release, then we have nothing to worry about. BUT that doesn't mean they should rush it! I feel like Dean should be around at least until late in the beta before leaving, yes even during the bug fixing process just in case. All we can really do though, is sit back, watch, and brutally murder all the cod kiddie, kosing, douches that try invading our zombie apocalypse paradise. -
Canteens, utility belts, and more (now with PICTURES!).
Spiderdude20 replied to crazykage's topic in Suggestions
That could be something to put in as well. the option to craft a makeshift utility belt using a sturdy belt, rope, ducktape, and anything else you can find. Though maybe it wouldn't be as good as an actual utility belt, so the parts would be easier to find, but wouldn't give you as much space, like the improvised backpacks. -
Friend got taken hostage... dealt with the bandits accordingly
Spiderdude20 replied to brampower's topic in Gallery
The new code for friendly should be "I'm not a douche, I'm not a douche!" :D -
Where did you find this station Rhodes?

Beans for effort for peace. Would have loved to have provided security for your group.

Before anyone thinks otherwise, no, this is not another insanity meter suggestion thread. this isn't a humanity, or a morality meter suggestion thread either, so put your flamethrowers away. Onto the topic. Zombies, we all love them. We love to kill them. We love to be them. We love to use them in every single way possible... yes, even the ways that shouldn't be... *shudders* So why am I bringing this up? Simple. It's time we make the zombies work for us. Example, in The Walking Dead, the black chick with the sweet katana (srry I don't remember her name) had two zombie companions traveling with her. They had their arms and jaws cut off, so that they can't hurt anybody, and they are lead around on a leash. They are used to help carry stuff in backpacks. Back to The Walking Dead again. The Governor uses kidnapped zombies as entertainment, or just to use them to invade the prison rick and the others are hold up in. Oh yes, and he also has his zombified daughter locked up safely and he still treats her like she is alive. In short, we should be able to do more with the zombies around us. Use them as carrier bags, pets, weapons, whatever. The trick would be to capture the zombie without getting hit yourself.
-
Way I see it is, if these zombies can be killed by having their jaws and arms chopped/ripped off, then how did they overrun the population and the military? You'd think they would all be gunned down by now. :)
-
1. I'm not good with remembering names, and it's been a while since I've seen the show. But she is awesome :). 2. My guess would be that they would stay with you, like how a weapon, or a backpack stays with you even when you log off. 3. I'm not expecting this feature to be implemented before alpha is finished, or even during beta. But if they can get the zombie ghost problem worked out, it would be cool to see this implemented. Time I used those bastards for something other than target, and axe swinging practice :). 4. I'm glad you liked it.
-
I do like that percentage to fail capturing the zombie. though maybe make it around 80-85% failure chance? To make it easier (for well equipt survivors at least) you could use something like a taser to stun them for a few seconds (if tasers work on them, if not then you just pissed it off :D.) Or even have another person there to help getting the zombie ready for servitude.
-
Two words, Chainsaw arm! Groovy! :D
-
We don't want it to be too easy, otherwise we get every new spawn walking up to a zombie and going "Be my friend!" Though it would be hilarious seeing them being eatened alive... :D. But yes I do agree with you about the need for traps. Have nets set up, or rope on the ground that hangs a person upside down by a tree when activated, bear traps to hold them in place, that sort of thing. Also, we'd need a more precise melee fighting mechanic for dismembering body parts.
