This guy was pretty smart in Elecktro

Of course. What else would you be doing there? :P

Sad reality of how people play dayz

You've been waiting for two damn years huh? Yeah, and when did the alpha start again?
  3. That would be a good idea... if you wanted to take away clothing items and customization too.
  4. I'm going to be blunt here, and say THIS ISN'T AN ANTI KOS IDEA! Yes, people will be douche bags, and they will shoot you in the face and desecrate your corpse no matter what! BUT, if they value their in game lives, they will be more smarter, and careful about how they go about it!
  5. I didn't say they would be banned on ALL servers, just the server they died on. That way they can still play the game, but it would have to be on a completely different server until the time expires.
  6. Beards... sorry guys. It won't work. Even if you get one, you're still going to be back where you started. You will die, and you won't even give a shit. I've said this COUNTLESS times in other threads, but skills and character attributes would be a great addition! Now for newspawns that have absolutely nothing and they recklessly get themselves killed, well yeah they have nothing to lose. But when they pick up that first can of beans, or can opener, backpack, weapon, whatever, then all of a sudden they go from "Okay, I'm just going to wander into town and see what happens" to "Holy shit! Now lets se- HOLY SHIT A PLAYER! HIDE!" As for skills, things like getting better at cooking, weapon maintenance, clothing maintenance, medical practices etc etc, would be a very effective way to prevent people from needlessly killing themselves. Character Attributes, basically your body adapting to the harsh environment, would also be a good way to promote survival. Now I seriously doubt it would be set to where if a player survives for... 135 days, then they become immune to headshots without a helmet. The Devs aren't stupid. A larger character creation option would also be a big incentive. If you make yourself in the game, you'll be hard pressed to keep yourself alive, would you? No? Then go ahead and shoot yourself when the option comes. Death penalty. People joked about putting in a 8 hr or 24 hr respawn timer. But this is a good idea. *Points gun at your head* NOT A WORD UNTIL I'M FINISHED! THANK YOU! This idea however, is that after you die on a server, you are banned from playing for that server for about 8hrs. That forces you then to play on a different server with a new character. Now what if you're playing with friends? Then oh well, you better tell them what server you moved to, or you will be playing without them. Harsh, but needed.
  7. I need to state, that this might be the wrong game for you. The main element in this game, is to try and survive. It says so on the Steam page! DayZ is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. More survival features will be put into the game because of that. So you're going to immediately hate it and move on. But yes, there needs to be a fine balance between intrusive, and non existent. Guess what? That balance is non existent! The only "horror" that's in the game, is when I see other players. Zombies? HA! They are an annoyance, even as a fresh spawn! It's an alpha, I know. But people are instantly assuming this game needs to stay a PvP focused gear grind fest with zombies as the backdrop because there are features planned that aren't in game yet. For a sandbox to work, it needs toys for people to play with. Lots and lots of toys. Eventually there will be a balance between the PvP survival element, and the PvE survival element, fighting off zombies, the weather, wild life and so forth.
  8. *Applauds* You sir get my beans. These are 20 awesome tips that I think everyone should follow. The code one is especially important. It lets you and others know what kind of person you are. My code is a simple one. Don't try to kill me, you live. Don't try to rob me, you live. Don't threaten me, you live. You do any of these three, you better think it through, and accept my offer to back down, or you will die.

    A normal day in Electro...

Ah good ol Electro. You're armed? Nope? BANG DEAD! Yes? BANG DEAD! This is why most rational people avoid Electro, or you go there to kill people. Keep it up! :D

    Non-lethal weapons

If someone could post to another thread that's already made this idea,we'd love to see it (Search function sucks hard btw :P) With Damny's idea, I think it should happen if you hit the guy with the Blackjack (or whatever you're using to knock the guy out with) more than once, then it should have a higher chance of killing them. For everything else, non-lethal would be great to have against players for all sides. Bandits, tired of constantly finding ruined shit off a person you shot? Say no more and pick up a taser, tranquilizer dart, tear gas, or the many non lethal weapns around and knock the poor sob unconscious, before you rob him blind :D. BUT, these weapons should only work against players, and not against the 'infected humans' otherwise you make an already non threatening threat even more worthless and unnecessary.

Lockable and breakable doors and windows

About the imprisoning someone idea, it won't work unless there's a way to prevent server hopping. Otherwise, I like this idea!
