I was just about to open a new thread on this issue. I really goes on my nerves, because in every suggestion thread there are so many different opinions. Some people claim the "end of mankind" was just days ago, other people say it was 5 years ago. If we really care about 'realism' that much, there should be a definite answer to this question asap. I personally would sag: Maybe 4-8 months since the breakdown of society. But that's just the opinion I get from running through Chernarus. So please, anyone with insider knowledge or a team statement: Contribute! :)

Not a good idea. Same reason the Easter Egg prehistoric painting boy doesn't have a penis. This should stay a game. Some things should just stay in reallife. I'm still waiting for somebody to suggest adding the option to have sex with other characters...

Technically OP is right. If you want to play in a group of 3-4 people (or more) it takes an awful lot of time to find each other. It's not even that bad at the moment because of endless sprint, but once the stamina system arrives and you actually have to fight zombies and hide on your way it will take forever. It's stupid to spent an hours to find each other before actually being able to play. 110% agree. But the main problem is: If it's not implemented carefully it will be abused. Player will teleport around from looting spot to looting spot or there will be threads like ("I want to the other and of the map! Who joins my group so I can port there?"). Once we get closer to the release, we need to find a solution for this.

Aren't parasites like that more a problem of hot climates? I'm not sure if it would make sense to add them to a game which obviously plays in a cold, eastern european country. Maybe there should be an interaction option to search other players for ticks trololol :D

Well, it's surely a stupid idea to repair a tank that was obviously meant to be a memorial. But there are several other broken down tanks around the map. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to repair them same as cars. They just have to be implemented the right way so they aren't OP: They should be harder to repait than carsIt should be hard as hell to find ammo for itThey should need WAY more fuel than regular vehiclesThey should move historically slow, which means at most 1/2 the speed of carsThey should be really, really loudThere need to be weapons which are capable of fighting tanks

Fishing is explicitly mentioned in Reddit's List of confirmed features. As I said i'm not sure about farming, I can't find it there. But I agree it would be a nice feature. Not too hard to implement, you could build "fields" the same way you can set up tents and other stuctures. Then you need to search farms to find seeds to combine them and then you'd have to wait a couple weeks until you can harvest... I don't know... Corn or potatoes maybe? edit: Ok, found it. Farming and harvesting lifestock are also already confirmed. Thus you don't need to worry, both things will make it into the game at some point.

Fishing is definitly planned. Not sure about farming tho.

I wasn't raging, sorry if that post sounded kinda harsh. :/ In my opinion, every 3rd party software you are using is a cheat. It's adding a function to the game not everyone is able to use. It's that easy. By the way: Since you say yourself that your finger "gets tired" after some time, doesn't autorun software actually give you an adavntage then? Because once you get into a firefight, your fingers are perfectly relaxed, while your opponent (who is not using a script for running) has a tired finger?

I'm not sure if it is the same problem but I also logged off once perfectly healthy and with lots of gear in Stary Sobor. Upon starting the game the next day, I was unconscious and when I tried to join again, I was a new survivor at the beach. :( However, this was almost two weeks ago and hasn't happened again since. I would suggest not to change servers too often. Maybe it's just a a placebo but I seem to experience less issues when always playing on the same server. Talk to your friends. pick one with a setup you like and a good ping and always play there...

I also usually pick the shoes that fit the rest of my clothing the best. :D But I'm sure this will change later on... at some point shoes will influence your characters abilitys: Jogging shoes will make you move fasterWhen raining you'll get wet feet unless wearing bootsThe noise you make while running will depend on the shoes you're wearingIn Hiking boots you're less likely to break your legs from jumpingYou know, stuff like that.

Weather is not being synchronized correctly yet. So it's mostly client side, there can be a thunderstorm for you while your friend next to you experiences bright sunshine. Rocket mentioned it on twitter lately, I'm positive it will be fixed in one of the next updates.

I'm paying a little chinese girl to play for me, is that cheating? Am I get banned? This is not about "What is ok" and "What is not ok". You will ALWAYS be able to cheat some or the other way. Every "hackshield" can be bypassed, even WoW Warden is not safe. So technically you don't need to play at all, give my 2000€ and two months of time and I have a bot for you that can do everything including looting, hunting zombies and snipering bambis. The real question is: Why would you cheat? Whats so bad about pressing that stupid key? This is not some stupid asia grinder, running around is an intended feature and if you are unhappy with that you should propably play another game. You guys pick the candies and as soon as something you don't like comes up (huh, you have to press a key for 10 minutes) you try to justify exploiting the game...

How are macros from gaming hardware any better than the regular cheaters? Explain please, can't wait to hear that story. Anyway, this topic is useless because whoever wants to be a small d**k cheater and has rudimental scripting/progamming knowledge can create such a script within 5 minutes... even without gaming keyboard. However, it's exploiting game mechanics be automizing ingame actions via a script and also having an advantage over other players. Cheating.

The weather system will be pretty badass once it's done. Rain will make your character wet (swimming will, too) unless you wear a raincoat (or other appropriate clothes)If you are wet you need to dry by seeking shelter inside a building and/or staying close to a fireplace (or use a heatpack?) I'd bet the cooking system will not be implemented all at once but in little steps. One update, you'll be able to make fire: Collect wood (from trees?), matches, lighter, area of warmth around the fireplace, etc. Next update: You'll be able to combine a working fire with a pot and but water in it and boil it to purify it Next Update: First "simple" dishes, e.g. put rice into boiling water, maybe new items like noodles/pasta that can only be consumed when cooked ... and so on. Don't expect too much, they should take their time and to it correct.
