  1. Like I said above, I shot him because I didn't know if it was the guys friend, lol.

Lol. It's cool. I understand. It would take some time for him to draw his weapon after logging in though. Maybe asking him if he's friendly or asking him to keep his gun holstered would've worked. In all honesty, I would've done the same thing.

  2. So I was casually looting in NEAF and I went to walk through door and there was a guy with a gun, pretty well geared, and he saw me.

I had no gun, only a fireaxe and it was on my back. I told him I was friendly and I just wanted in there so I could get some food and drinks. He told me that he apparently saw my gun, and I'm still not sure if he thought I had one, or this was an excuse for banditry. I ran past the door to try and get down stairs and he fired 1 double barrel shot, so I couldnt get across. I put my hands up and told him they were up so he could see I had no gun, after putting my hands up I was using 'e' to lean in so he could see my hand. He fired his second shot at my hand, which missed. This told me he was gonna try and kill me so knowing he used both of his shots I ran in and axed him in the head, and double tapped him with his Blaze.

Moments later, I'm not sure if it was his friend or not, another guy logged in only to get shot in the head due to the fact I didn't know if it was his friend.. My question is, why would you try to shoot someone who has no gun, and has their hands up.. Do you agree he got what he deserved?

Probably for the same reason you would shoot someone who just logged in and posed no immediate threat. It's an airfield full of goodies.

  3. Make good and bad decisions ... though you won't know you've made a bad decision until you're staring at a 'You are dead' screen. Always learn from your mistakes and be careful who you trust. Not everyone is evil in DayZ ... maybe 90% of players are ... or 95% ... maybe even 98% ... it's never 100% though so cheers.

  4. Hello all! Recently I've been having issues with the attachments on my guns disappearing. No matter if it's an SKS, Mosin or M4, my attachments just won't show up. I've re-updated my video drivers and nothing. I've verified cache and nothing. I've also uninstalled and installed DayZ again and that seemed to have fixed the issue when I jumped into the first server. After the server reset, I jumped into another and again my attachments were gone. If I go to 3rd person I can see them equipped to my gun but when I switch to 1st person they aren't visible. If I aim down the sight of my M4, my attachments appears but it isn't completely textured and the red dot is replaced by a gray square. Anyone experiencing the same issue? Anyone know a fix? Thank you!

  5. So much weird stuff has been happening in the airfields lately. I wouldn't doubt it being a bug in the game. As for the first time you went down in the ATC, there have been times my buddies have shot or heard shots in the distance and I wasn't able to hear ANYTHING. I tend to stay away from the top floor of the ATC though ... nothing good comes from it.

  6. I think it's simple ... add zombies that are actually considered a threat. The answer to DayZ and KOS isn't necessarily to just add more zombies, it's to add smarter ones. Get rid of zombies walking through solid objects because it's obviously a game breaker and it's creating a lot of unnecessary anger towards the game. Imagine playing DayZ having to worry about zombies, food, shelter and illnesses. If these features in the game become a HUGE threat you will see people asking others for help as opposed to just shooting on sight. I don't program games for a living so obviously the idea is much easier to come up with than it is to implement.

  7. Im not harassing the forums, I am commenting on a stupid thread with a reasonable and accurate response in terms of the stimulus provided in the OP. Even more to the point of the pathetic "come back"... Not playing a game does not mean someone cant have a active interest in how the game will turn out and latest threads to do with said game. If that was the case then by the time alpha is released it would loose a large majority of its players due it being a unfinished game.

So how about you take your typical, boast thread and tell your friends as it does nothing but spurt "Im dumb" here.

Edited: "thanx baby i luv u ;*" from OP screams "Douchey douche im a douche lets brag douchey douche". At least post it with some flare so its not a standard "I killed someone lets boast" thread OR be humble.

That's some fancy writing right there. It isn't "cool" to hate on almost every thread posted in the forums. If you don't agree with someone's post, fine. What's the point in commenting? How is your response to his post beneficial to the game in its current state? It isn't. Confusing having an active interest in the state of the game and trolling is typical, I guess.

  8. This is such a pointless and repetitive thread. Why do we continue to make threads like this? No, people that KOS ARE good at the game. Listen, whether you'd like to admit it or not EVERYONE that's purchased this game has KOS before. The only people that hop into the forums and write yet another thread about it are the ones that have spent hours server hopping and looting for both pristine gear and weapon attachments. You got shot. You lost it all. Deal with it. Don't make up excuses for being bested in a tough situation. After putting in 100+ hours in DayZ Standalone, the only thing left to do is KOS. I find pleasure in being both a KOSer and a medic. They're both equally satisfying. Now ask me how many people I've helped in DayZ only to turn my back and be shot in the head by them. IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. It's the way the game is played. Why do you think they've added guns to it? Certainly not to shoot the extremely advanced zombies in the game that's for sure.

  9. I think you should only be able to hide bodies with specific tools. Cremating the bodies is also a great idea but you would need supplies. Imagine dying in Elektro and spawning close. You haul ass to the area you died in and on your way there you see a smoke trail in the distance. You finally arrive only to find your charted remains. Whoops! No loot for you.

  10. Are you logging out somewhere safe? If not, you're getting killed because of the new mechanic where your character stays on the server for thirty seconds, despite logging off.

Initially I logged off on top of the hospital in Elektro. It seemed safe and the server just had a restart because only 4-5 people were in it. The second time I logged off in a bush so I guess maybe that wasn't so safe.

  11. Hello all, so I've decided to create my first hardcore character on DayZ Standalone and I managed to get pretty good gear in Elektro. Eventually I had to sign off and later when I logged back in to join a Hardcore server, I was spawned at the coast again without my gear. I decided to run it again and managed to get pretty far. To test it out, I logged off and logged in again and as you probably guessed, my character was deleted yet again and I ended up spawning at the coast once more. Anyone having the same issue? Please help.
