What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Tupoun replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
This public hysteria I don't understand at all. I've never met a hacker, I've never even seen a single tiny little one. Where is the proof? Some "alleged" photos a.k.a. screenshots? Obviously rigged YouTube videos? What's next? Illuminaty conspiration? Stop whining, grow up, be the men damn it! -
Sorry mate, they don't have enough time for this. They are working hard on the possibility to grow cucumbers or creating another version of the carp model. Don't you even try to bother them with nitpicking at some stupid crossbow or, gods forbid, not having decently functioning zombies (in this case, almost not having zombies at all). It's just a zombie apocalypse game. Weeeell it may be slowly turning into the farming or fishing simulator, but - that's what the public wants. Carps. At least three variations of them.

I've just finished reading the new Dev-Blog and found out that there will be another major town in the middle of the map, another two villages near the NW airfield etc. Please, please no more cities! Let the wilderness be vast and unspoiled by the repetitive same looking towns, spread in every corner of the map. I love open fields, never-ending forests and in the end the towns also - but on the coast and not so many of them. If you're looking for the new way how to let your map designers to earn their money, please try to make the existing locations more unique (like the swamp on the cost added by the SA version), also those already mentioned towns could look less repetitive/same looking, forests could have some broken trees/logs in them (that would take some time). Thank you.

That sounds like a great idea and I bet it would add some vibes to it. But still, too many cities.

I don't dare to speak in Mr. Rhaptics name here, who is obviously innocent by the way, but if I were the victim! (with big fat "V") of such proportions as he is, I'd expect: - appology, written - 2 pages A4 at least, - full refund, - compensation, I'd take 4-10 games of my choise for free or 2.000.000,- Euro (cash only), - poster of Michael Jackson (before his face went ... you know down the hill). This would be perfectly reasonable. -
What sucks? And a lot? To have a decent GPU, CPU, lots of those little RAM Samsung chips and still not to go over 18 FPS. GPU usage 28% = 17.4 FPS, hell if I only could get the GPU usage up to unbelievable number - something like 100% (I know I want too much) ... I could ... in theory ... get perhaps even some magical number close to 60-62 FPS! But I would be happy for 50? Or 40? Please? 30 is also good. 25. CPU usage 39%, hmm, first core even 59.7%, hmm. If only my CPU could achieve the 100? I'll stop dreaming here. See the lovely picture:

... of low quality though, mine is the best. With due respect of course (or lack ... of ...). I can't give you more information with this whole NSA spying! I've already said too much, too much!

Why do you insist on putting in large cities?
Tupoun replied to FrostDMG's topic in General Discussion
I don't want to disappoint you, but these boys were working, and pretty looong and realy haaard, on Arma II optimizations as well. So DAYZ is the actual result? Buuut there is the Alfa magical word, so we will see. I am optimistic, very optimistic - doctors say I can live for at least next 20-30 years! One day, maybe soon, it will happen. I have faith! But the truth is, I believed and for a long time, that Santa Clause exists, so this, this could be a little hiccup. For you not for me. He could be real, just - must be, who else 'd bring me the new socks this year? Black again? -
Hi, I'd like to see possibility to walk with my hands up. I got myself into a situation, when it could save my life. As of this moment you can only stand and turn around, as soon as you try to walk, your hands go down. I'd like to now, if I am wrong, it might be (in this case pls tell me the trick). To be able to walk with my hands up could save me some troubles, especially if the other guy is a little bit further and watches me through the scope of his rifle. I am lame (I mean very lame) in PvP, the ability to give up (visually) and leave some cosy place means a lot to me.

Yeah ... that's exactly what I've been waiting for. Is this the John J. Rambo quote? Are you ... him? Thumbs up if yes! The Afghan mission, just cool bro! Cool!

Yeah ... that's the exact reason I don't play this game anymore. -
3 New pistols in DayZ Standalone Experimental
Tupoun replied to GriefSlicer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
HI, some of them have extended barrel, especially the tactical ones. You can fit silencer, some other tactical accessories: -
Hi, nope I don't, they do (or actually I/we all do ;)): - my GPU is limited by the CPU, so it can't run faster and thus only 20-35% usage, - my CPU has 6 physical cores, one of them is sometimes running at 99%, the rest not, thus the 40-45% usage (never above 55%). The trouble is the engine and it's "bottle neck". It's old Arma 2.5 engine used with the "Take On Helicopters" DLC, which served as a partial test for Arma 3 (especially the skies and volumetric clouds). Rocket himself somewhere mentioned, that there is no real space/possibility to improve this (he meant FPS on the client side), because it's part of some crucial "legacy code" and it would need very costly overhaul of the entire engine. Even Arma 3 engine still has this part of the code, but they've done what they could with the rest. So the only way for me would be to overlock my CPU to get as much GHz for one core as possible, to boost up the performace, which would kill my comp. Cheers.

Hi, don't worry, I'm getting 25-32ish FPS as well. In my case: - GPU usually shows 20-35% usage, - CPU usually shows 40-45% usage (never above 55%). If you hope in some improvement in the future, I'd say forget about it. It's the same crappy engine Arma II uses (actually not exactly, it's the "Take On Helicopters" updated version). If they squeeze some FPS from it, I'd bet it'll be something like 1-2 for you, the rest will be lost in the moment, they finish the zombies and loot respawning.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
Tupoun replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
Well as it stands now, I kill any person with firearm on sight, just in case. If there were any possibility to distinguish the hero guys and the rest I would not shoot the heros for sure. Not that I'd be a hero type of player, more of a neutral stand. Because the general mood is KOS, I do it as well just to survive, anything else has always failed me. So - I see a guy, I kill the guy. I don't even try to make any contact with any person in the game. But, give me another option (to yell "friendly, friendly" or lower/hide my gun is just plain stupidity, not an option) to recognize a good guy and I won't do that. It would be a definitive plus for me. I'd try to talk to the person or just let him pass by. Today it's just plain deathmatch, not a survival mod.
