You spawn somewhere random along a coast. What do you do? Is it morning or night? If it's night, press 'TAB' to open your inventory. Drag the battery into the flashlight that are inside your pants. Drag the flashlight into your hands. Exit out of your inventory and scroll and select 'turn on'. If it's day, look to see whether it is dusk or dawn. Remember: The sun always rises in the EAST and sets in the WEST. If it night, find the big dipper (photo at bottom left). The Big Dipper's leftmost dot is called Polaris. Polaris always points north. You come across another player, who is trying to punch/shoot you. What do you do? Press space to hold up weapon/fists. Remember: Weapons always require ammo. Fire your weapon/punch them in the face. Keep punching them until they are dead. You can check if a person is dead by standing over them, and selecting 'check pulse'. If it says "____ is cold to touch" or "____ has no pulse", they are dead. TIP: Don't be a bandit. Bandit = total d*ck who no one likes. More will be added to this guide as I think of more tips ;)

Approach every situation carefully (plan ahead). Prepare for the worst. Be careful around other players! Read up on good strategies. Don't shoot someone/something unless they ABSOLUTELY need to be shot.

I hope this can get attention from the developers, as it would be a great feature to have in DayZ...
-
So, I've noticed lately that even with the larger development team, the descriptions for items are very short and are often incomplete. Please do lengthy item descriptions like on the SKS (not as long as the M4A1 though). This really gives an indescribable feeling to know where your weapon has come from and what it is good/originally meant for.

Coming from the guy who wrote an attention seeking story about people dragging him through the woods. What's funny is the fact that dragging isn't even in the game yet! EDIT: Hypocritical attention seeker*
-
Woah, how was it useless? Tell me :)

Swearing is now genetic? I guess you learn new things everyday, huh?
-
That post was long... but clearly not very thought out. Read the rules...

You can't drag people... I'm guessing you want attention or you have never played the game?

So, after playing the mod for a few weeks, I thought of an idea that would help both players and developers if it was implemented: •A $5 DLC (free for the 'supportive version' owners of the game) that would include a small boot camp that would use small sections of Chernarus+ to practice flying, shooting, driving, and maybe survival scenarios. This would be great, and this would help (relatively) new players find their way. Thanks, Nathan E. EDIT: Free*

With the recent hunting and cooking feature is DayZ, I thin it's about time that food becomes very scarce. I mean less than 20-30 food items in large cities like Berezino or Novodimitrigorsk. Also, make guns very, very rare. Make them very rare in police stations. This means 1 in 4 serves will have a gun in the police station. At airfields, try to spawn ammo, but also make a maximum of 4 guns spawn at Balota airfield. Try to make mostly backpacks and ammo spawn there. I don't know how many of you played the vanilla version of the mod, but even in barracks good guns were hard to come by.
-
But since people with guns would have have a more intimidating appearance, people who have food would most likely help people with M4A1s because they would not want to get shot.
-
Not the same game though. Standalone is SOOOO much different than the mod.
-
Also, new content would come to boot camp after the content gets pushed to stable.
-
That's how hunting (mostly) is IRL. EDIT: I'm confused on whether you support guns being extremely rare...
-
Exactly. We should get this pinned so we can get the dev's attention.

Is there a team speak password|?

So I was playing experimental today and found no sign of animals. I cannot seem to cut trees/mine rocks and cook. All of the features are gone except the new animations... This better not be all that is released on stable... :|

[DEV/FORUM ADMIN] When do experimental servers restart?
Loopest posted a topic in General Discussion
At what times do experimental servers restart? How many hours apart? What times? Please let developers or the forum team answer unless you are positive on your answer. -
I have three things to say: It's alpha. You agreed to buy this game knowing that it would be very incomplete. Quit your whining. If you feel so neglected by the devs, go play WarZ or some other garbage. Alpha Definition: Alpha software can be unstable, incomplete, and could cause crashes or data loss.Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Alpha

To balance a game, sometimes it required people to think out of the box (and real life).

Make it semi-automatic and make it have a relatively low RPM. Make the gun rare, but the magazines even rarer. And also, does this gun look familiar? I feel like it's from another game...
