I found two SKS's one at a military base and another in the police staton on one of the towns near cherno. But I find them still a bit hard to find compared to B95's (found 3 on the way to cherno.) But ammo is literally more commen than food so SKS is best gun so far I think for survivability.

Im a new player too, it's my 5th life in-game and well its the best life ever! Don't go inland, although people say "Cities! Deathtraps!" They are your best chance at survivng, after all what do you have to lose? The first 2 times I played I went in land and nearly both times died of hunger and thirst despite coming accross two small towns, the last 3 lives I have gone to 1 of the 3 big coastal cities and always found an axe, tons of food and some cargo pants and a jacket, and only ever nearly been killed once. Just remeber in towns without an axe never sprint go crouch and walk everywhere becasue if a zombie hears you you are dead. Also look on the Dayz wiki map, tells you were all the loot spawns, I used it to find my 4 rifles on my way to cherno during my last life and then found an SKS because of it. PS dont go to airfields, alwasy someone there even if there is only 4 players, best bet is a military base, I have been on one for 2 days now, got some good loot (tons of ammo, tacti vest, gas mask, ttsko trousers, boots, food + drink and medical equipment) all without seeing one person.

Yeah the chernarus forces do wear at least a close counterpart to ttsko so it fits perfectly well! Also dos anyone know where I can find a ttsko jacket? It's one of 3 things I need till I have everything I could want.

Well I got the game last weekend and in this time have had about 3-4 lives. First time, after reading tactics etc I decided not to go to the coastal citys but head immediately inland via numerous towns on the way to int. airfield. But soon I realised that all the towns I came accross (1, small coastal one and 2 medium in-land ones) Only had bad clothing and no melee weapons or food! So I was getting desperate, my hunger was red so I decided I was going to have to run, this then caused me to attract a zombie and after killing one with my fists another one came into the house I was trying to hide in and Swiped at me till I bled out. So the next one I decide, maybe it was bad luck right? I guess it was as I eventually find 1 peice of food and a fountain, this time I went to farms where I found a hat and some good clothers and a screwdrive, OF course as always food was hard to find, so once again I ended up going to a castle in search of food fearing I wouldn't make it that much further and of course there was a Zombie and I got killed. 3rd life! I spawned on the eastern coast near Berezino, I quickly find an axe in the city and a backpack and some clothes, gloves and hat. After meeting 1 friendly player, 1 quiet 'Get out ma way' player and 1 player who attempted to shoot me in a barn but luckily missed for me to make my escape I decied to head north to the airfield via some other towns, but when I got there even though there was no one I could see I went in only to then get shoot by some guy camping the tower. 4th life! This time it was much the same, I spawned at the 'corner' part of chernarus and decided to head back up to berezino, I once again got lots of nice loot including torches, an axe and backpack and useful clothing and tons of food, this time I decided to head directly to the airfield after all there was only 4 players on the server it must be empty right? So after spending 1 hour walking in the dark along a road I get to the airfield, I was hoping for ammo for a mosin I found in Berezino but when I got there I found a beret and camo pants. Now I thought this must be alright, the door was shut there was a lot of (not the best) stuff in there so I though hmm no one here! But I was having to contantly stop, the broken router which is meant to give me 60mps was giving me 20 dropping to 0 every 5 seconds for 2 seconds. So I decide to not quit and restart the router... Again and go to a hanger, thinking im safe and hen seeing my internet was gone again I look around for loot to pickup when it comes back then all of a sudden a player walks right through the hanger wall in front of me, now I relised I was not alone and that my poor character was probably on the runway as the internet was going at 1-5mps! and then 10 seconds later the lag stopped and the screen of death came on! And that was that... And now my current life, Spawned near elecktro, by now my game experience has told me, cities avg, town and woods safe and airfields death zone, so I go through elektro, picking up loot, find an axe, some food and 7.62x39 ammo (Infact 2 packets!) THinkg cor maybe an SKS will be here I search the whole place but to no avail. I then continue, I was low on space with no rucksack I needed to find a rucksack and cargo pants and food! So today Iogged back in and went to cherno, figuring "What have I got to lose?" Im probably going to starve to death again if I dont go there anyway. So thats what I do, along the way I come into a barn and find my 3rd ever rifle (first 2 were mosings, 1 found on dead guy before I died and 1 found in Berezino) a double barrel 7.62 hunting rifle! Overjoyed but also now weary I continue knowing I have no ammo, then further along I find a shotgun, I knew that shotgun shells where more commen to me than rifle rounds I took that instead. I continued to the town outside Cherno where I then was searcing a hospital, I climbed up a ladder on the roof to see if there was a mosin or ammo up there and then my game freezes for 4 seconds, thinking oh great I've been shot, as my computer usually freezes when action starts I wait, then when it comes back My character crys out and I climb down the ladder only to find My legs have broken! And my cargo pants were ruined with my, painkillers, torch and food also ruined! Knowing I was now never going to be able to walk again I think maybe logging out and changing server might fix it as I really did not want to respawn considering I have a gun and there is no morphine any where near as far as I know. So after doing this I log back in but nope still broke, so I drag my pathetic disabled and until then well of character down the stairs hoping to find morphine in this hospital, so as I crawl into a room I hear noise downstairs, instantly frightened as even though I had nothing to lose, as im disabled and useless and have no ammo for my gun I wait and then some guy comes in with a gun pointed at me. He then goes "Hi, Friendly, I won't shoot you mate ok." I go hi and then say my leg is broke, he says damn man and then I hear someone else, his mate and his says "I've found a guy here his leg is broke, but I don't know how to fix it" He tells me he is oing to see how to fix a leg when I say, "Morphine should work, if not that a splint" So checking thorugh his stuff he has morphine! His friend says, "I dont think morphine fixes it" But none the less he hans me it and I am able to walk! Giving him my thanks we go our seperate ways but not bfore I find out they found a mosin upstairs, but I don't have ammo so I leave. After cheking a nearby check out I then find 7.62 ammo! So I run back only to find that one of them has taken the mosing but left a hunting rifle! SO I take that, it was better than nothing and head to chapaevsk, where I find the thing I have wanted all my time playing Dayz, the SKS!!!! With this new SKS, massive backpack, ballistic helm and now green raincoat and green cargo pants I am nearly all camoed up and ready to go to Pavalov military base which I will go to soon!
