When I started playing DayZ Mod I was just another girl in the lands of Chernarus trying to survive the zombies. After some solo time in game I started to gather to other groups, to increase my chances of survival. I found some bad people, of course I did...but I also met a lot of incredible guys and girls out there, and we spent a lot of time just minding our own bussiness, we weren't bambis anymore, we didn't need the help of other, not even from the other guys in our group...we could handle ourselves now. We logged in every day just to gather some more ammo, food and kill zombies for the fun of it, that's the way you survive a zombie apocalypse, killing zombies and avoiding to get killed. So we were just killing every single zombie in the server. After some time, some of us stopped playing for a while and when we came back we kept playing, for the most part, on our own...back to solo queue. But it was ok, I don't mind going around on my own. Later on, I (along with some of my friends) stopped being a survivor...I became a Hero, the girl that fix your leg in the middle of the woods or the sniper that saves you from that squad of bandits on the beach. Anyway, I'm no pro player, but I was playing to help others now, just as some hero helped me when I was a survivor. When I came to the game (I'll call it just "DayZ") I was this bambi again for some time, and quickly became a survivor again... I met mostly bad people that just wanted to try out and test all the items/features/systems in the game and they just kill you to make sure you won't interfere in their plans...typical But I also met a small, really small group of survivors just like me, I was happy to find somebody I could trust and we played for a long time. I...well, all of us tried to be heroes here as well, help other people with their loot and providing cover from bandits, we really tried :c Eventually I was on my own again and I just kept finding more and more bandits and kosers...everybody was just shooting at me, showing me their axes which so much energy that they "accidentally" killed me :( A couple of days ago, my headset broke. So I wasn't able to talk to anybody in-game :O and had to play all by myself again, just looting what I could and moving trough the forest, away from other survivors due to the lack of comunication (which would end up in someone's death) I tried to type in chat and just ended up dead, I tried to just flee as soon as I met with someone and ended up dead... So I started to just kill people...I was no longer a bambi, survivor or hero...I was now a bandit. I wasn't KoSing...I wasn't killing EVERYONE I met, just the ones that seemed hostiles...the rest, the ones that left the place as I entered, the ones that kept moving, the ones that let me go away lived, but the ones that raised their weapons, the ones that threatened me died and got robbed from all da lootz And now...now I just try to stay out of sight...letting people go away from a zone before I go in, but if someone else come while I'm there...they'll die. I've killed a lot of people that didn't deserved it, they just came into the same building that I was in to do the same I was doing...and they got killed for that :( So I have now became a KoSer...GG. PS: Sorry for writing so much and the low quality pictures...and for all the people I've killed in Chernarus

I haven't got any updates today :( -
I was the kinda girl who never wanted to kill another player. I used to think... "It's the end of the world, if we fight each other, we're all going to die" and I tried to play with that in mind. I was expecting other players to do the same, kinda what happens in Resident Evil or Dead Frontier or Left 4 Dead, where people just cooperate with others to survive, without the fear to being killed by a person, but by a zombie. That's what we should be afraid of...ZOMBIES
-
Well, we'll have to wait a little bit more then :) keep up the good work. Thanks
-
He didn't said anything about XP, although I love Dead Frontier so much <3 and I still kill Burning Wraith with my Titanium Blades. But I think he meant something like Resident Evil, A campaign...like you're a soldier from the Chernarussian army and have to stand off the hordes and so on. Like the origins of the outbreak in that country...it could come as DLC, but that's just me throwing ideas. With or without a campaign I'm happy with this game

Remove 'Change Server' Button. Make a function for 'Play' button
cejota14 replied to mazymodz's topic in Suggestions
it is impossible to Join an empty server. At least for me, whenever I try to join a 0/40 or 2/40 I get stuck in Wait for Host for hours until Y go back and join a full server. That's the only way for me -
I was thinking we got social action from waving a friendly hand to other survivor to give them the finger...so with the new posibility of fireplaces which will lead (and already are) to groups and camps...there should be an action to offer an Item... Let me explain, Imagine you're in a city fighting the living dead and you run out of ammo...your friend takes out his sidearm and press F8 and he extend his arm with the gun giving you the option to grab it from his has just like if it was on the floor. With the mouse scroll action menu. So far I use the throwing system to give shit away. and you might be thinking why we don't just drop it on the floor? Well is mostly for a friendly approach to player interaction I suppose, plus...sometimes when we drop things they dissapear in the void or just don't spawn for the other player. Let me know what you think :) PS: I know is not a priority and I'm not asking for this to be implemented now. Just to be considered

I wanted to ask, has anybody noticed the increased, annoying and repetitive issue we have with this? I mean. I can loot a whole hospital, get out and run down the street only to be teleported back to the roof of the building and fall to my death.

I used to find a lot of friendly players on the first version of the branch...but now is the same...they all kill people

Remove 'Change Server' Button. Make a function for 'Play' button
cejota14 replied to mazymodz's topic in Suggestions
The PLAY button is for joinning the last server you played on. So everytime I open DayZ I just hit PLAY and I'm connecting to that server. If I want to change my server of choice, then I hit CHANGE SERVER and choose another one. I think your idea is unnecesary -
This looks amazing, this will add some "terror" when coming into a city (hopefully) and not knowing if that shadow in front of you is a survivor or a zombie. Plus I'm sure it'll add some stealth into the game and will fuck camper's plans when it come to snipe survivors for the heck of it :) No need for zombies - This isn't Resident Evil No need for weapons - This isn't Call of Duty No need for customization - This isn't The Sims No need for Chernarus - This isn't ArmA II No need for realism - This isn't real life
-
Thanks a lot good sir, you've restored mi faith

I think night time needs some light sources...life burning buildings, cars, barricades, roadblocks or just plain light from the moon or the lightpost. We all know things like the electricity would go out after a few weeks without maintenance, but this is a game...so they should be in (I know is asking too much with the current build, so I'm not arguing that) Plus, even with that, we would need flashlight, torches, flares, lamps and stuffs like that in the nighttime
-
Good Idea...I'm all for this
-
Yes I have a lot of hours on the mod, that where I learned the map...and yes, we all know about that map, but we're gonna learn that too...welcome to Chernarus kid
-
The game lost is essence when we LEARNED it. I mean map, loot spawns, gear quality...everything. The first days of this game were the best :')
-
30 min from Berezino to Svetlojarsk!? really? what the hell are you proning? It takes like 5 miserable and boring minutes...Vehicles will come, eventually...until then, take this
-
Indeed, that's because we all KNOW the game alright. Remember those first days? waking up in a coast of a country you don't know? not knowing where the loot was going to spawn, not knowing the better places, not knowing the best gear, the zombie behaviour, the map...All those things made DayZ a great game, but we all know that alright... I'd suggest a new map and a new kind of zombies...I'm not talking about special infected but REAL zombies...slow stupid moaning zombies looking for human flesh. They slowly chase you but in a BIG number...I'm talking huge ammounts, like in Dead Frontier or Resident Evil 3
-
You're in the wrong game kid...
-
I just use a beanie...you die from one shot to the neck anyway

Is there just one girl on this forum or in this game ?
cejota14 replied to Ludz's topic in General Discussion
I am a girl and lots of my friends (girls) play DayZ as well, they don't come to the forums though -
I love DayZ since the day it was born as a mod for one of my favorite games ever! It's been a long time, a lot of fixes and a bigger lot of bugs. But we all want to see DayZ become that Massive Multiplayer Online Survival Horror game it is supposed to be. So I want to make a suggestion...IMMERSION Adding little content like the following would give the game a better feeling: - Crows Crows love death, so what could be better than a dying country full of sweet sweet food? I'm pretty sure Chernarus would become the hottest place for 'em. They could either be some generic atmospheric prop or be (like the flies in the mod) at the corpses of fallen survivors giving away that Death has come to town - Door Sounds I don't know about you, but If I'm looting a house and suddenly hear the metal fence outside being open I would crap my panties right there.Adding a simple sound to the doors (like when you play resident evil 3 and go through a door) which zombies can't hear (unless we could choose to open slowly, in which case they should be able to hear when we open it roughly, but since that's a harder thing to do because of mechanics I only suggest a sound) would give the players some tension, specially for campers - Corpses props I bet that the streets would be filled with dead people...cops, soldiers, survivors. Everyone would have died on the firsts days, leaving some corpses behind. There could be corpses (when containers are implemented) that could be looted as any other container (Fridge, cupboard, cardbox, tent). Being a static prop. The kind of loot they should hold is not discussed here. - Roadblocks People drive cars right? most of them will hurry to the highway trying to leave the damn country. Welcome to Chernarrussian traffic! There should be a lot of burnt, crashed, damaged and abandoned cars all over the streets (they would provide cover from zombie's line of sight and another players when in PvP.It would add some stealthyness and immersion when playing, going from cover to cover. - Persistent lights Burning cars would definetely light up the street as well, and probably somebody left some chicken in the oven...it could start a fire and burn a house or a whole building! maybe people rioted! and started fires with tires on the street, or burned some stores down...Now, I know that obviously it would consume a lot of buildings and everything should be burnt to the ground or maybe it just went off. But since is a game, even if we want realism, we must remember that. So this should be persistent, meaning the fire won't stop and won't spread...just for atmospheric purposes. This would also encourage people to play on night time (which is pretty much empty) - Zombie Sounds Zombies are not scary at all...specially for the sounds of sick animal they make. They should have more classic kind of sound/moaning/screaming (like in Resident Evil 3) This would make players a "little bit" more scared than they current sound - Weapon damage I kill a zombie with 1 shot of the M4 to the chest, even if that zombie is wearing a military kevlar vest. That's...weird, I mean is cool that I only need 1 bullet, but it doesn't feel like a zombie game. They should all die from ONE SHOT to the head, no matter what gun you use.In the case of melee, it would depend. Axes, Pitchforks, Picaxe, Knife, Screwdriver, Crowbar should kill with one good hit to the head of the zombie, but Baseball bat, Fire extinguisher and such should take more than one to the head. The body, on the other hand should take some time with melee and a couple more of bullets with guns (let's say 4 CZ75 shots)Magnum, Shotgun and Crossbow are 1 shot kill for zombies of course - Proper "cities" There's a school, firestation, supermarket, pharmacy, police station and mall in every city in my country...it's a little bit weird to see towns with no corner store. And I see a lot of green between cities, Using that space to make something more urban will add a lot, since 90% of the players live in cities. Would give a more personal feeling. The feeling of a more CITY, instead of a countryside, would really improve the way people approach the game - Verticallity Highways, bridges, slopes...I love Svetlojarsk stairs in the sidewalk. That's a good example of what I suggest here,Imagine walking down the main road and look up to the border of the highway to see if there's a bandit sniping. Oh...the tension <3 - Kinds of Zombies I suggest the following:Walking Zombie: Walk slow, easy to kill, does have a big detection radius. In hordes means a REAL threat Jogging Zombie: maybe the MOST common kind of zombie in Chernarus, has a moderated detection radius and follows you for a while meaning a real threat Crawling Zombie: Just like in the mod, these zombies don't go too fast, they don't have any legs. Screams a lot and follows you around a while Running Zombie: Rather uncommon kind of zombie, runs towards you for a long long time, probably until one of you dies. has a moderated detection radius - The Danger Zombies should be the primary danger in the game, making them easy to kill but hard to control when they start to surround you downtown, approaching slowly, from every corner, going into every building, screaming while they go to eat you up PS: I know I used the word "should" a lot, I don't intend to sound as a boss or like I'm DEMANDING something, so if I sounded like that I apologizeI know this is a lot of reading. So if anyone got THIS far...thanks a lotI hope these ideas make it to the game in some way at least, I really love the game and the immersion is something currently absentAll the videos are just to show a remote example idea of what I try to explain hereI know most things are hard to do. I am no designer/developer, I'm just trying to give ideasSorry for all the Resident Evil references, that's the first and best zombie game I've played
