Update Rev. 0.36.115535 (Experimental branch)
rocker2511 replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
Hrm, actually, I'd like very much for DayZ to be a German game, so you just gave me an idea... :D :D :D :D (PS: For those who don't understand irony/sarcasm: It's a joke ;) ) -

Steam does have the .35 update avaliable, mine updated immediately after i started steam. This seems to be a problem with your personal steam, not global. -
Thanks for the link, that one's really old ;) I was actually trying to use a thread of which the topic is similar to mine to keep things simple and not make a new thread (since I hadn't found this old one)

Alright, I didn't know the no water/no ammo event had already been suggested somwhere (I was/am still slightly confused that you only talk about weather and hordes which had nothing to do with my suggestion ;) ) Could you please tell me where this has been suggested so that I can state my support for this in the appropriate thread since I couldn't find it with the search?

You obviously didn't read my post ;)

Critical Unplanned Update of 0.34 to Stable 7 February 2014
rocker2511 replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
They do, you just have to reach the status once for it to be able to reset. Meaning you have to drink/eat enough until you in fact are stuffed/energized/hydrated. From that point on the status indicators do work properly again. -
I copy that, that's exactly what we had in mind when thinking of this stuff.

My buddies and I had a similar idea just yesterday, so I thougt I'll just go ahead and post it into this existing thread. We were thinking along the lines of timed events, like for example for two weeks there is no water in the waterpumps and you have to survive just by boiling water from ponds and using water purification, or no ammo spawns for a week, something like that. We thought it won't be nice as a permament thing, but would bring back some real "extreme survival" into the game for a limited period of time.

New Patch Memory Leak: Possible fix/workaround
rocker2511 replied to antykain's topic in General Discussion
Some additional info from my side: If you put foods, drinks or spraycans in protector cases or clothing that you drag around in your inventory, these tend to get the bug again. Because I started to have the FPS drop again after I had been fine and had three cans of soda in a protector case that were in working order before, but were now having no texture again. Once I dropped them and ran away, everything was good again. Could also reproduce this issue. -> Don't put foods, drinks or spraycans anywhere where you can't directly see them in your inventory to prevent this from happening. -

Try searching for solutions ;) There is a fix around that has helped quite some people, including me. I posted the link to the thread just a few posts above already, but here it is again: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172310-new-patch-memory-leak-possible-fixworkaround/ You have to get rid of painted M4 attachments (and even some unpainted, usually the MP Buttstock and MP Handguard are buggy) as well as any objects (cans, books etc. ) of which the textures don't display correctly. Also check your protector cases and/or clothes you have in your inventory that have something inside, those have a tendency to make food, drinks and paint buggy. The items are really simple to spot, they just have a one-color texture. Drop them and run away, once you're far enough away from these items, your FPS should return to normal. Also, it might not be you, it might be your friend who has issues with items in his inventory, but it's contagious and as long as you're near him, you will experience the problem, too. -

The FPS-drop issue is being heavily discussed here in the forums and elsewhere on the net, so if you used the search function (or maybe even perhaps Google or something similar ;) ), you might have found this thread right here in the forum: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172310-new-patch-memory-leak-possible-fixworkaround/ It worked for me, I had huge issues with FPS since the last patch, but after using this fix everything's back to normal and I can play again :) -

I think you actually have to really reach the indicators now in order for them to ba able to reset. I was stuck on the stuffed indicator for two days before the patch, to get rid of it I actually had to get stuffed again, meaning you have to eat/drink until you will get the stuffed message on the bottom left of your screen. Then it will reset. I guess the same might be valid for the other indicators. So you might have to get energized and healing for real so they can reset. -

Worked for me, too. With me it was the M4 Handguard I had painted black and the "Russian Learning Book". Thanks! -

I have to correct what I said before, the "quick fix" with changing the values doesn't really fix the problem with the fps drop, it just delays it. -
