Any gun that's loaded I'm usually happy with. But a mosin with a long range scope is hella fun!

I spent a few days hanging around Elektro, Kamyshovo(sp?), and Balota areas and saw maybe 2-3 people total in about a week down there on high pop servers. It's a shame, because those are fun areas many people are familiar with. I don't even like the layout of Berezino or that town in the woods further up the coast. It also hurts that I haven't died in a while... *knock on wood*

In defense of the dude the OP was trying to save - that's 4 corpses worth of loot, a treasure chest that doesn't come along often. Nothing ventured nothing gained! But it was a dick move...

I've been noticing some different pathing and behavior of zeds. I swear to all that's holy tonight I was fighting one, killed it, then one of the chick zeds came pathing in a giant square around me and appeared to run into a house and then fall down dead. Can that really happen? I swear to all holy I never touched the bish, she I had nothing to do with it!

Ever since the spawn changes the southern portion of the map seems "sparse" from a player standpoint to me. Anyone else notice this? On 30+ player servers I can run around Elektro and a few other places down there and quite often see noone (the airfield is another story though).

Oh - abusing 3rd person, I can sorta see that, especially the stairs part at the end. While not playing in hardcore servers you've got to take that into consideration...

Ammo is a problem especially because of dupers. Until dupers are stopped imo ammo should spawn everywhere to even the odds for those who'd rather not cheat.

Got a herd of zeds following you? Zig zag like you're avoiding an alligator attack, and then find the nearest steep hill to have them sled down to their deaths. Unfortunately as it stands now zeds are no threat to anyone anymore than hunger or thirst.

That's a lot of questions. It depends on the server you're on. If you're on a high pop server that doesn't restart often things will be very scarce unless you head far inland. If you're on a low pop server or a server that restarts every hour or so you're going to find plenty of stuff and one could argue that it's too easy. I mean, for water - I carry a bottle or canteen with me and fill it in lakes, rivers, and with rain water so drink is easy when you've got one of those. Hunting and fishing will make food easier to come by in lower risk locations, but there's a time sink element to that (as well as an antisocial element). In the end it mostly depends on what server you're on. Also loot tables and locations seem to be updated every so often so these things change a lot.

I notice that right clicking to get the Eat or Eat All is often laggy, and sometimes all I get is Inspect (and sometimes I right click and nothing happens at all). It always (for me) finally comes back allowing me to properly right click and get Eat or Eat All after maybe 5 seconds. I especially get only Inspect and no other options if I accidentally still have something in my hands. I'm sure you're not crazy and something strange is going on, but next time you're online try again and double check there's nothing in your hands and wait until whatever you're eating has fully left your hands - and wait a few seconds between tries, it's wonky. If you still have an issue with it search the bug tracker, maybe it's a known issue - or maybe it's a new issue you should report!

I like knowing *something* about who's online with me, such as if there's clans, how many people, their pings (if there's high ping people I get weary of warpers, etc and may switch servers - I know BattleEye takes care of some of this but not enough).

It's a known bug, and as MaxRain said. It's been known and around for as long as I can remember, and it's wildly abused. If you search the bug forums you'll see it reported every few days but they typically go from public to private because it's one of the worst exploits in the game right now. How do you think some snipers / teams seem to have endless ammo? This is exactly how, and it wildly unbalances the game, taking it from a straight survivor experience to a straight PVP experience (I mean, what else do you do with essentially endless ammo?). Its also how some teams re-gear up, which is entirely pathetic, once this is fixed you won't see as many roving bands of dudes outfitted head to toe in all the best matching gear.

Does morphine not permanently fix a broken leg? If not I suppose that makes sense - I've only ever had a chance to use the stick method. You crawled around that long and couldn't find someone to help (fix leg or shoot you) or a zed to kill you? That's impressive.

I'm carrying a Mosin with long range scope in hands, SKS on back, and magnum as side arm in bag currently. I'm sure I'll die before I work through all 3 of them but hey - it leaves me options. The M4 reload/magazine options make it perhaps superior to the SKS.

The random zombie noises may have recently been fixed: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=161 The random food/drink are often reported as bugs along with the random zombie noises. It's unclear from the ticket whether those were recently resolved too or not. Looks like Accolyte last updated the ticket, perhaps he or someone else can clarify?

Keep in mind they're modifying the engine itself for a number of reasons. Thus although there's some truth in what you say, it's more as I said - by the time DayZ SA is in full release the leaked source will likely be irrelevant.

All I can say is that people are pretty messed up. I've witnessed some pretty crazy stuff. Here's a short list: Dude jumps off water tower onto zed (maybe he thought it would die?). Breaks legs, zed proceeds to kill him.3 guys run into town all together, 2 gang up on one of them, then the other back stabs his friend. 1 guy walks out of town alive.2 guys hold up a fresh spawn in the middle of the street. Another fresh spawn sneaks in behind the buildings and watches/listens, and lays down prone so as not to be detected. The 2 bandits finally blow their captive away and proceed south on the road. The hidden guy gets up and proceeds north unscathed. (big reminder that whenever you think you're alone you're probably NOT)4 assorted guys (look like a random lot) meet up in the middle of a town and look to be talking and being silly. I fire one shot and they literally scatter like bees. I observe them zigging and zagging trying to find out where the shooter is. Finally one of them starts killing the others, and gets one of them before I lose sight of the rest.1 guy climbs one of those round water towers. He's got just a construction helmet and ax, and is standing there looking around. I hear a shot and he's down, dead. I never see the shooter.1 guy seems to have another held up, and cuffed. He runs off and leaves the cuffed guy. The cuffed guy is on his knees struggling and a zed comes along and kills him.2 man team and 3 man team meet for an epic showdown. It ends with 1 survivor, but he's got broken legs. Apparently none of his friends have morphine nor a stick, I watch him crawl around for a while and finally he starts crawling down the highway and I lose interest because it took him nearly 15 minutes to make it that far.1 guys is looting and another armed with what looks like a SKS runs into town. The SKS guy blows the looter away, and begins searching his body, then SKS guy starts going house to house himself. I hear a shot, and SKS guy goes down. A shooter comes out of the woods, well geared, and loots SKS guy and disappears back into the woods. I took that as a sign I should move further away the opposite direction through the woods.I literally see a guy spawn on the coast, he runs to the road and immediately encounters a zed. He goes bare boxing, standing completely still and going toe to toe with the zed. He eventually loses and dies, I see him bleeding out and the zed derp walks away down the street like a triumphant champion. This might have been the saddest one I saw, if only he knew to strafe and move his feet a little, he would have survived.Seriously, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Get some good optics - binoculars, a long range scope, or something, and go "survivor watching" someday, it gets pretty interesting. You've got to find a good high concealed spot though!

Put simply another way, unless you hit "P" and see noone on the server assume you're not alone...
