Welcome to one incarnation of the item duping exploit. When you see a squad of guys all in identical gear with boxes full of ammo and everything is completely identical you now know how they accomplished that. It's a known bug, one I WISH they'd fix because so many people exploit it.

NE portion of the map is for those who don't know how to use a map and can't navigate around to find things elsewhere. It's Elektro all over again, only when the spawns used to be mostly south Elektro was far superior for many reasons imo. People who stay in the NE do so because they want a fire fight (which is ok, nothing wrong with that) or because they're too gimp to use the rest of the map.

I went for maybe 2 weeks once, not sure how long that was in hours played but I think it was around maybe 40 hours. I think that was during my earlier "exploring" days where I would immediately head inland. I have no idea why but when I originally started playing I would always head inland away from the coast. I wish when you hit P you could gather *something* about the general players on the server. An interesting stat list might include: Hours played. Longest period surviving.Shortest period surviving.Current survival period.Deaths by Player.Deaths by Zed.Deaths by <X> (falls, disinfectant, starvation, etc).Player Kills.Zed Kills.Kills by gun.Kills by meelee.Kills < 10 meters.Kills > 10 meters up to 100 meters.Kills > 100 meters.Kill/Death ratio.Kill/hour played.Death/hour played.Kills in current survival period.Most deaths in 24 hours.Count of people I've handcuffed.Count of times I've been handcuffed.I realize that this is a bit much for "P" player list on the server, but I really really wonder what the global ranks are and how I rate, if I'm an average Joe, if I'm above average, or if I just plain suck? I also sometimes look back and think, "What did I do for those 30 hours last week????" It would be fun/interesting to see what I've been up to and compare that to others.

I've seen people post about random body harm - such as heart attacks and other obscure things, but I always thought it nonsense. Well tonight I was in the firehouse of the little town near the new town up north and all of the sudden I have a leg fracture. What's even more strange is when I check my inventory now randomly about 1/4 of my gear is ruined. Seriously - WTF? I ended up having to crawl around and find a fire ax downstairs and chop some bushes for sticks to combine with rags for a splint. I assure you I was not shot or attacked, it's as if I randomly fractured my leg and 25% of my junk became ruined. Is that... weird or normal? It's the first time it's happened to me. I'm just gad that you can chop down bushes with an ax while lying down otherwise this would have been a much much MUCH more painful experience.

Be sure to force feed them that burnt meat!

You should handcuff her and force feed her the burnt meat. ... or you can continue doing a good job of playing the hero role, that works too. :P

Couple of thoughts here. I ran into a friendly a while back and we decided to move to a higher pop server to have some fun. I had him log first so I could actually watch what his char did during that process. It is about 30 seconds, and your char may sit down as if you'd hit one of the F keys that makes you sit. There are zeds that can keep aggro for literally miles. If you'd been running for a while before logging out, one that was chasing you that you may have not even known about may have caught up to you and killed you. It's also possible another player could have found and killed you in that short amount of time. Never ever assume you're alone (unless you hit "P" and see noone else on the server). To be safe, always try to: Camp on the 2nd floor of a building where loot is not commonly found. This will help avoid zed death. Wait a good minute or two before camping to ensure no zeds or players are around. Make sure you didn't log out in a Regular server and then log back into a Hardcore server on accident. They're different hives. The same as #3 but make sure you're on Stable vs Experimental. They're different hives. Make sure you're on the public hive and not a private hive. Understand that, even with the best precautions, there are enough people who complain about logging in naked that there may be something else at play beyond your control - the whole "Alpha" thing and the software not being anywhere near completed. You may have done nothing wrong, you may just have gotten some bad luck that's a part of playing an early access alpha product.

Hey man, at least you didn't deal with breaking a leg randomly while standing in a firestation, then after successfully making a splint and getting back on your feet maybe an hour later randomly dropping dead. I'm still rage steaking out in my mind about it.

... happened again. Only this time, "You are dead." I swear to all holy I was not shot nor attacked. I'm completely flabbergasted.

Just be normal and scurry around the ground and attack anything you see. Attempting to climb anything has risk because it's all buggy.

StandAlone is not finished, it's in Alpha. It basically gets patches/updates weekly. I'm having a lot of fun with it. The mod is way more polished with a plethora of more features, but the vision of StandAlone is leaps and bounds beyond Mod, even though currently Mod is leaps and bounds beyond where StandAlone is. Go StandAlone.

I've had some fun with binoculars or LRS in the past, but I'm wondering how many people have found themselves effectively "people watching" with either the LRS or binoculars? There's been a few times where, using the binoculars, I was observing some of the more active towns and I've seen some pretty ridiculous stuff. From holdups, to executions, to bambis attempting to stand toe to toe and box zombies without strafing/circling (and thus losing every time), it gets kinda hilarious. It's always funny to observe someone enter a town where you know there are already a few people and wait to see how it will play out - will they become friends? Will there be a fight? Will someone run off? One of the few times I've had an LRS with a good sniping sport on the town just south of Berezino I was amazed to see 5 people suicide off the round water tower thing in less than an hour. I guess they didn't like their spawn points? The 6th guy jumped but apparently only broke his legs - I did him the service of sniping him rather than have him crawl around looking for a zed or another mercy killer. Observing the airfields this way an also be amusing as shoddily geared folks approach well geared units defending the airstrips, and then how all hell breaks lose when server hoppers show up inside the buildings unexpectedly. Above and beyond playing a hero or a bandit, I've found myself playing an observer on multiple occasions. Anyone else get sucked into this role on occasion?

To be clear - are you looking for a build suggestion for DayZ Standalone or DayZ Mod? They're different.

Log out and log back in. :) That would be the lame way out... just wiggle and let us know how it turns out!

A small list of interesting things. You can now chop trees down. For firewood.You can also chop bushes down. For kindling or sticks or something.And make camp fires.And kill/eat animals (finally).And fish. Good luck finding fishing hooks.And make backpacks from animal hides.Grenades exist. They go boom.The game crashes every time you attempt to switch servers (or if a server reboots and you try to log into a new one).

Is this the Hunger Games or are you going to find the biggest field with the most pigs/cows to pick people off with an LRS?
