Pumps for water - are currently not working. They got busted with .50 release. Try to find a pond or gather rain water in a bottle/canteen. Dunno about crafting maps... :( I've never tried in 800 hours+! There are - elk, cows, chickens, boars, rabbits... but you have to know where to find them. Most big fields have elk somewhere. You can also try fishing?

Do the same physics apply to DayZ? Meaning I can get creative and try to kill people with bank shots? I've had people try to shoot me through windows many times with no luck, I always assumed that unbroken walls and windows in DayZ were impervious to bullets going through them.

Killing yourself for a better spawn is a garbage way to play. The "only" excuse I can think of is if you're playing with a group and getting back to them might take you running across the entire map. I can sorta empathize with that, even though I rarely get to play with anyone I know and it doesn't apply to me.

Tenderizing the venison by rolling it down a hill... mmmm... sounds tasty! And no bullets to worry about biting!

Are you playing 1pp or 3pp? In 1pp I find it's way harder to keep an eye on the zombies position and keep from getting hit. With 3pp it's easier to strafe around them and time when they'll hit. Some other suggestions: Never ever try to stand toe to toe with a zombie and slug it out, you will lose. Learn to lock zombies in buildings when you don't have a good meelee weapon. This takes practice but can work. Try zombie bowling. I think this still works? Learn to move in a manner in which zombies really can't hit you. Watch tutorials such as this which will help you:

I want to drag zombie corpses as well. I want to make corpse piles and light a camp fire on top of it.

There are maybe 5 small towns near places I like to frequent which are always empty, rarely have zeds, and are great pit stops to either get started again if I'm a bambi or fill up on food and stuff if I'm on a high pop server where all the typical places have been picked clean. I'm not going to name these towns as they're my favorites and I don't want to help make them popular. :D

I concur - that's likely the best. Also, boneboys sounds a little gross, and Inception. sounds confusing.

No, there have been 100 servers earlier on I believe, and they were testing up to 75 on experimental again as of maybe 4 months ago. The max for Stable servers was just upped from 40-50. In the end, as I understand it - there were limitations and performance issues which are in the process of being addressed by things such as moving from 32 bit to 64 bit on the server side along with engine updates and tuning. This is a game that's in early access alpha, it's not done yet.

DeathByCrowbar Lonewolf, Chaotic Neutral, general survivor I'm a survivor and a journeyman. I've hit most of the map at one point or another, but after getting over my paranoia now more often seek human interaction. I've killed more than I've been killed, but rarely have I ever provoked the violence. Well, maybe once or twice after a few beers where I decided to take out some aggression after being double crossed or killed unfairly (such as by some evil stairs!) or been smited by a mystical being with the ability to teleport and float through the air. I'm yet to find a grenade. I enjoy chopping down random trees across roads or in towns. I prefer Tactical Bacon to anything else, that shiz is the bomb. I killed a few pigs just out of spite, I hope Shrub Rocketeer doesn't see this!
