I know that Tatanko and a few others sometimes post about interesting buildings and locations, like that one weird building with the crazy wall paper (I think only 2 exist in all of Chenarus). I stumbled upon this one today, interestingly enough in one of the towns that has 1 of the crazy wallpaper buildings. I've never seen this building before. Is it unique?

If you've had the game for a while - update your filters and ensure max is not 40, because that will make you miss the 50 person servers where there's more action! Two areas that are NEVER boring are Elektro/Cherno/Balota greater area and Berezino. Actually just got to Elektro, there's always someone there on bigger servers. Always, and plenty naked running back to get their corpses.

So here's a question - by design DayZ Stand Alone doesn't have a global chat system, all communications both chat and voice are local to the player. My understanding is that is a design decision for realism and immersion. However, a lot of servers advertise/provide teamspeak and I know that a lot of players and clans use it as well to communicate/coordinate. Does anyone feel like the use of teamspeak in this manner undermines the goal and direction of the game? Or maybe said another way, is use of teamspeak something that enters the realm of tabooish things such as stream sniping, server hopping, etc?

They're either super rare or not there. I don't know if they're like trucks where there's only 3 per server or what... but, if you do find one let everyone know. When I play it's one of 3 things - I've got someone I'm joining to play with (this is rare, but happens) I've got an objective and place I want to visit. Sometimes during the day in reading the forums I get ideas about places I've not seen, gear I want to look for, or just something random I want to do/try... then when I log in that evening I've got an objective to achieve. I'm totally randomly running around and have no clue whether I'll be looting one minute or randomly throwing chem lights at people the next. Playing with no objective in mind is hit or miss, especially if you're not the type to play the game in a "kill em all" style. If I'm really really bored sometimes it turns me evil from bandit all the way to straight up murderer - but I usually come away feeling like a jerk after logging off when I start killing random people, so that doesn't happen often.It's a sandbox game, the world is what you make of it. Survive!

Things to do now: Explore the map, there's tons to see. Blow up a gas station - it's fun! Randomly approach and help someone. Randomly attack someone. Search for something rare but fun (a truck, a sword, etc) Upgrade your gear! Kill something and cook it on a fire (animals, you can fish, become a cannibal). This is also fun because you need to cut down a tree with an ax and also find matches and a stick to make a fireplace and a fire. Chop down a bush, combine stick & bandage/rag and make a splint. Will come in handy. Even if you don't use it try it so you know how to do it when the time comes. Write notes and leave them in random places. Survive. It's a survival game. Just go out there into the world, explore, do stuff, interact with people, see what happens!

Isn't one of the big differences between mod and SA that zombies in the mod were controlled client side but in SA it's server side? If I'm correct that's going to impact many things including whether or not the "zombie hoard" will be possible. I've seen some videos of the mod where there's literally so many zeds it's silly, like "World War Z" move silly. Certainly I'm game for more and better and from everything I've read that seems the plan.

I think I've walked by one of these before but assumed it was just filler with nothing of use - I'll have to add it to my to do list!

No. What's happening in this case and what OP is indicating is a problem is people are paying for public servers and then booting anyone who joins them that's not one of their friends. That's not allowed. In the past week there's been at least 3 different servers I joined where I was repeatedly kicked within a minute or so of logging in. That's not allowed.

I had just sent a message to boneboys reporting that I also noticed this to be fairly rampant. My follow up was to make sure I get the IP:port of each one and document so that it can be followed up with which I hadn't had time to yet. Glad to see someone else who noticed the same thing is taking action. Kudos. /join server_x Waiting for host... ...Logged in ...Few minutes pass You have been kicked from the server. There's even a server where, in it's name, explicitly says you'll be kicked if you join, LOL

Hey guys I was checking things out and found a bunch of tents after the update. Lucky me! :rolleyes:

You'd expect the baseball bat would have a good knock down and knock out potential, especially with that "swing for the fences" motion it has. I view it only as being useful to annoy people - hit them a few times, doesn't do much, but is safe and intimidating if they're cuffed if you're not trying to kill them.

A place with a view - such as a nice lake, or a castle, or something. Devil's Castle could be interesting. A place good for pictures.

A meeting place decided on yet? I need to find a nice pink dress or something festive.

Is this your first time reviewing frame rates? That's not a dig, that's a question - and the reason why I ask is because there's the age old "the human eye can perceive no more than 20 frames per second". That's true and false really - 20fps vs 60fps is noticeable in regards to smoothness even though your eyes can't pick out the individual frames. 16fps actually might not look that bad, because it's at the upper limit of what your eye can actually perceive as individual frames before it all blending together. You also might be used to how it looks. This is interesting, curious how it turns out, also how your tuning turns out. I've been too lazy to do it myself but I have read through a portion of the pinned post about it.

Persistence makes the most sense when you play on a particular server. When you move around servers all the time, as OP mentioned things get interesting, but it's still a good thing in general.
