You probably found my M4 outside the brig building in Balota after I got killed by some guys hiding in the bushes. I know the guys who killed me didn't take it.
-
So, you're from Chernarus and you get kicked for no reason. That's unfair. Now, seriously, does it happen with every server?
-
Server hopping will die once the player and the world lives only inside the server. There's no ultimate server hopping solution while we wait for private hives. So for now, I would suggest everybody relax and enjoy the ride.

Your signature looks friendly.

Stop trying to connect to server US 102 then.

It could be fun to watch somebody play bait until somebody else spoils all the fun by shooting the body from far away. Much like scaring away doves from a park kids are having fun feeding. Something like "Ok kids, fun's over, nothing to see here, move along, move along!".
-
Like someone said already, this would be rendered useless almost as soon as it comes out. Everybody is going to double tap a body just in case (I know I do all the time, even after I hit a guy with an ax on the back). It could work if you stumble upon someone who's just starting to play. If I learned something from people with this game is that you can't trust anyone, not even your friend's marksman skills.

We have two problems here and none of them is the new penalization system. First, a server is kicking without a reason (or at least not that you know of) and that's forbidden in the terms of use. The other problem is you trying again and again to join a server that is kicking you. What I do is I have a couple of servers on my favorite list which I join religiously even when they are almost deserted just for the sake of running around a bit. I never randomly choose a new server because I've had my character wiped out several times now.

There're already decorative lightnings in the game. They look fairly good.
-
Being able to gather firewood from trees is a must if hypothermia becomes a key environment player. They can't expect us to depend on loose wood logs found around the map when we carry an ax and forests everywhere.
-
Yeah, right now all the kos is because there isn't much to do and everybody is geared up to their teeth. Still, if I had to choose, I would choose to allow the items to remain intact as along as you manage to strike a headshot. Force players to think and place their shots before going human hunting.
-
There're lightnings strikes right now. I've seen them during a storm. As for the damage, I think they're only part of the backdrop I guess.

Ruining everything the guy you're shooting at has is not only fair, but necessary in this kind of game. Right now It's the only way to discourage the kill on sight behavior and even that doesn't stop them from doing it. At some point realism should be overlooked in favor of gameplay.

He wants the f gesture, just give him the gesture and don't remind him of the obvious. It's clear that he knows that already, he didn't want something to block the sun's glare but a new gesture.

A pistol shouldn't take 4 slots in the first place. A normal sized .45 pistol could very well fit on a jacket side pocket. If you read all the thread you may notice a post from myself where I say the slots should be kept together but have different size rules, like fitting only 1 slot items o 2 slot items. You have your point with duck taping things to your body though, but that doesn't invalidate the fact that you can't combine individual pockets in real life to fit an object with the equivalent volume of several pockets added together.

Cool then. Although I'm going to have to search for ACE style in Google now =).

Casual gaming? How dare you?!?! You will burn in the hardcore fire. Now really, hardcore gamers seem to be really touchy on this forum. Don't mention "casual" or the'll all jump in the bandwagon here.

No need to talk about fine tunning when each new patch can potentially break the game. I'm sure once everything is in place and ready, they'll introduce fine tunning options, even as cvars so they can be tunned by server for private hives. I wouldn't say the game is easy so far, I would say there isn't much to do right now and that's fine because it's in alpha (and very enjoyable alpha by the way).
-
Separating the slots is way too complex. Limiting the size of items you can fit on each clothing type should be enough.
-
Good point. Then make those coated lens scopes an ultra rare item. I don't think we would be able to find state of the art military equipment on a post apocalyptic world being civilians as we are. Unless every scope nowadays have that treatment as if every amateur shooter was a trained killer. In that case I can go f myself and you can ignore this post =). Still, this is a gameplay issue, not a realism issue.

Make sunglasses work as sunglasses and the blocking capabilities directly related to their state. Even have baseball caps block some of the sun. In fact, vanity items should have more purpose than just an aesthetic purpose.
-
This is a must. Right now snipers placed on rooftops at 600 or 800 meters from popular places are not only a pain in the ass, it's overly unfair for the victims. One of my best friends does this and he's exceptionally well at shooting (both in games and in real life). I usually express my disapproval of such way of playing the game, but right now there's so little to do that I kind of understand why would people do that for fun. If the price for sniping is running the risk of being ambushed by a party I say it's only fair to implement reflections on scopes. My vote is positive.
-
Don't worry about that. Right now there is not much else to do than that. The server hopping is going to die once the private hives are rock solid and they even make the server world persistent. By then, you can hop all you want but you would be starting all over again.

There shouldn't be any problem with the horizontally placed items. Jaggardos, make this update on your main post: slots don't need to be separated at all (I love it, but it's going too far), torso slots only fit 1 slot items, trousers and vests fit up to 2 item slots whatever the orientation of those items are (come on, in real life you rotate items to fit your pockets, even if they usually rest horizontally on a table), backpack can store any sized item. It's not so realistic, but it's much fair than the current system. In any case the slot grid stays as one piece like it is now (let's not complicate more with asking to be able to rotate items like if we were playing tetris).

I personally never cared about combat logging. If they get scared and they log out they are doing me a favor. The only problem I saw with combat logging is that if they could log on again moments later they could probably catch me off guard. The wait 30 seconds feature is cool anyway. If you are caught in a stupid position you kind of deserve to fight back or get killed. Every time I got killed was because I got bored of doing everything perfect and got sloppy. One second of sloppiness is all it takes to get killed. If you can force a stalemate the other guy has no option than to walk away and let you walk away. I just hope they never introduce homemade grenades or this is going to turn into Battlefield.
