  1. I´m still rather new to the game but not new to the idea of open world-PVP for what that´s worth. I´m not exactly scared when I log in but rather VERY VERY worried and nervous. And yeah, I too get the adrenalin shakes, depending on the encounter. My very first encounter once I was geared up was terrifying, which is made worse by the fact that I don´t KOS without a very good reason, so I stand there TRYING not to go trigger happy to just remove the situation alltogehter... Funny thing is, I´m usually on TS with friends when I play, not all of them are playing DayZ with me so there´s talking and laughing and all the good stuff. But when I play DayZ, I noticed I sometimes want to just mute everyone, thinking "shut up shut up shut up, I CAN´T HEAR IF THERES SOMEONE IN THAT HOUSE!!!" :D Guess that´s what the game does to you...I know no other game that can make me feel tense like that...maybe and JUST maybe in the Vanilla days of World of Warcraft when open PVP was everywhere and you were just on edge all the time... The other day a friend and I were at the giant antenna (forgot the name), happy that no one else was around. We scouted, we moved in, we lootet. Sat around for a while, when suddenly *k-tsch* SOMEONE opens a can of soda and it was neither of us
  2. I really like the thing you´re doing there, though I wonder how many missions end in Medic-Casualties...any numbers you can share? I´m really curious. I´d imagine you´d need a lot of Sniper-support.

Possible solution for the nametag problem

Second on the right is my friend. How did I know? I can see it in the way my friend moves, plus I can factor in the slight differences in height and posture, plus the decal on the back of his helmet. How many of these things are implementable in DayZ? The decal, that´s it.
  4. I actually like the "Horn of Gondor" idea...some kind of air-horn or a real horn...something to give far-reaching acustic signals with (no, not guns)... I can imagine quite a lot of uses for that and tooting into someone´s ear while standing right next to them is not the first that comes to mind...though that would be f-ing amazing  "Hey, are you frien-"TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! :)
  5. Hello everyone, I want to share an idea I´ve read elsewhere but couldn´t find here, so if it was already dismissed, forgive my ignorance. I know that Nametags are frowned upon and I know why. I even agree that it makes more sense that you don´t know who the guy across the yard is. BUT. You know what your friends look like, right? To reflect that, I suggest a form of nametag that is kind of realistic, given the customization-options of DayZ. You cannot tell one player from another simply by looks since faces are the same and clothing, while diverse is kind of same-ish too. Also, talking out loud is not always an option, same goes for the proximity-chat, when you have to maintain "radio-silence". The Idea: A nametag that only shows up either in close proximity or if the player in question turns towards you (so you see his face). The important thing is that both people have to agree on showing the tag, so both know what they´re getting into. The thought behind this is simply that in reality you have no problems identifying who you know and who you don´t. In the game, this is not possible without direct communication, there is no passive system like in real life that can do that for you. I personally like, where this idea is going, I think there should be SOME way of telling people apart.
