Zero basicly means you have set the gun to shoot at a set distance. On sks I think the lowest is 50 up to 300 meteres. Shooting at a target close to you with a zeroing at 300 will cause the gun to shoot alot higher than you aim. If you havnt messed with it, it should be set to standard at 100, which is completely fine.

I havn't fought too much in police station, so I'm not entirely sure. However when I have fought in them, the shots seems to hit invisible walls alot. Seems like it's more the building then anything else. I do have to ask though: Did you have zero right? Was your fps decent at the time? When my fps goes down the drain, I can't even punch zombies... Would be nice if anyone can confirm, or deny, my allegations towards the policestation-building thingy. In particular shooting in the main doors at the front. Cheers.

Word of the day? :D I learned one atleast, thanks umberfive and google.

Then I missunderstood you, my apologies :) My "rage quits" consist of just turning off the game and resetting my head, going outside helps alot for me in competetive games.

Hello! I have had a problem for quite some time now. Each time I restart DayZ, settings are reset to a certain point a few months back. In addition, when I press "config" other settings are rolledbacked to what it was when I first opened the game. This include, but is not limited to: Mouse sensitivity (which since the last patch I have to fix every time), keybindings and obviously the view distance, which I have realised is intentional. In recent patches, with changed mouse sensitivity, I constantly have to go into that first. Set it to what I want, and then go fix the view bar how I want it at the time. This become kinda tedious when moving in the northeast area around the airfield as I constantly feel I'd like the camera slightly different quite often. So I just wanted to ask, as I've seen no post concerning this, if there is a simple fix to this issue. I have tried to simply reinstall, however to no success. I figured there's a way to try to "repair" the client, but as I've never done it, I'm not really sure how that works. Any information or opinions on how to fix this is greatly appreciated. For now thanks for reading.

Not sure I can aggree with this statement. Anger is simply an emotion, it's completely justified to get mad. It is perhaps wierd to get angry at something you are trying to entertain yourself with, but considering how movies and books play with your emotions, I see no reason why games can aswell. If you sincerely only find joy in the game, I think that's a wonderful thing, but I like emotionally bumpy road in DayZ. Concerning the "win" part, I do aggree, however you'r still left with a bitter feeling once killed, fairly or not. Subjective I quess, but I'd argue most arn't happy dying atleast :)

When several incidents occure in a row, such as; hackers kills me, the server desync kills me or if I am killed by anything bug related (glitchers included). After taking several of these to the face I have come to sometimes ragequit lately, mostly because I play the PvP role of the game, going to airports etc. I see ALOT of the wallglitchers and m4-scripters, which have gotten WAY out of hand. So ye, dying in succession for reason beyond my own play-skills/style, makes me ragequit ocassionally. That beeing said, bugwise, other than people glitching inside the walls. Dying from falls and zombie oneshots isnt that maddening to me, it just is, hopefully fixeses are imminent.

New zombies mess me up, how do you win?
problembarn420 replied to Brimstone99's topic in New Player Discussion
if possible, use high ground in stairs. Also hit early. zombies are somewhat closer than they appear to be, and your hit-animation is usely somewhat delayd. Works for me atleast. -
It's a good game to just "hang out" in. I play it simply because one of my closest friend started playing it, and opted I'd try it out aswell. It's a relativ cheap game for -200hours gametime (so far), and even though it can get frustrating at times; in about 10 minutes I forget about it and move on. I play alot as a PvPer, and as the game is sorta like an fps simulator with no imba fast movement and easy controlls as in Cod cs or battlefield, I feel tactical thinking and teamplay shines more easily in this game. (long sentence, but hopefully you get what I mean). As for the medic and hero side of things, the game has potential. However I fear players won't act on it that much, and the playstyle will probably be nonplayable-ish/frustrating for a long time forward. What would make me quit the game? Quite simple really, if I have none to play it with, I will probably not play it myself.

What does the SOUND SOURCES options in the settings do?
problembarn420 replied to randmanq's topic in General Discussion
Believe this to be correct aswell, atleast you hear more, but anything over 32 seems to do little or nothing in my experience. DONT put it at 16, my friends playd with that forever, trying to fix performance, he didnt hear shit... By which I mean he heard about 50% of gunshot in the distance. PS; by amount I dont really think its the actually number of sources, think its counted in "mb", could be wrong though. -
What's your most recent mistake in DayZ?
problembarn420 replied to zecele's topic in General Discussion
I crawled around in a tight spot, broke my legs and died. Not even the first time, I really should stay away for the Z button when not in a huge open area... -
Wasn't able to loot my own body.
problembarn420 replied to smorisson28's topic in New Player Discussion
I see my own bodies long after I've died, thats to say; after it has despawned for everyone else. Can't loot them obviously, but they won't go away for that whole server reset. My point beeing you might've not been quick enough to reach your own body? If you was, then I would assume it has something to do with the glitch that killed you. Had some issues looting bodies that strafed through walls/floors/bushes etc. myself. -
What's your Favorite Weapon right now?
problembarn420 replied to Bear Appeared's topic in General Discussion
M4 for anything at 300 and below, 400 if I have it with acog. Long range is mosin, too strong dat gun. Meele, lets go with doctor freeman's god old crowbar, even though it seems more effective against aliens. -
"Fully geared" to me feels like that point when I actually start caring if my char dies or not. The moment I start beeing more careful is when I have; full cloth-set with assault vest (anything more than damaged), a primary with a scope, if mosing etc I want a secondary on the side. Food and openers are usely easy enough to find and I'm not too bothered with that, however, if I got a improved improvised backpack I DON'T WANT TO LOSE IT. Disclaimer; I like to PvP when I have gathered some gear. Looking for action often times get me killed, so "fully" geared comes quite soon for me.. Atleast the feeling of beeing geared.

I just put yes/no on the respawn thing. Think it feels abit too random atm, which I'm sure is the only way to implement zombie spawns at this point of the game. If they work on it untill it became something like; more zombie spawns after reset, and then spawn zombie(s) from dead player. Or atleast not 1 and 1, which force you to deal with them in the middle of gunfights over and over again. If they are going to respawn, I think it would be better if they spawn in group, and not 2 seconds after the last one was killed, giving some time for the pvp element. EDIT: feel like I should clarify that this is simply how I feel about the subject, bad idea or not. :)

So where does the new mags spawn? Found some at bodies, but not much else. Think I found a sporter30mag in a jail, and more fnxmags in jail than ever... So jail/fire/police the places to check?

I am sorry if this seem rude to you, but havn't this kind of post been made a few too many times?

How often does the Epi-Pen work?
problembarn420 replied to OldWolf (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I might've heard wrong, but I think the unconscious status is sometimes bugged. You simply can't revive at times. That beeing said I've used about what you stated above on a downed friends. Before he re-spawned we tried a salinebag too, which woke him up. He couldn't see anything though, can't remember how we fixed that, but I believe we managed to revive him atleast. Sorry I can't be of anymore help, not really sure if this helps at all :P -
It's because of alpha, think they are working on it. Atleast it has been reported on feedback.

Can you die for an injury to your ... backpack ?
problembarn420 replied to tmbt's topic in General Discussion
I've started using smaller backpacks for two reason; this one you described (which I wasn't certain of) and how much easier your spotted with a large backpack. Hunting is the largest one I go for, which I put above taloon because of the colours (it's fabolooouus). Best one might be the rope-burlap(+sticks). That beeing said it's hard to say if this is true though, bullets can ricochet from wall, or so I believe. Some walls can be shot through, even when it makes no sense. There's basicly alot of things that could've led to that person you shot at dying, your suspicion beeing one of them. EDIT: did you loot him afterwards? If you did, how much of his clothes were ruined? Would be nice to know, but I assume his shirt and stuff was also ruined? -
How do you deal with zombies?
problembarn420 replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
If I'm in a populated area, kill as far out of sight as possible (silently). Loot close, but probably no players, Axe/bat/fist'em whereever. Anywhere else, meh, I'm quicker.... -
Reasoning behind beeing a hero/bandit is subjective. I wouldn't really call myself a bandit, but I still kill people ingame.. Not for some powerhype or because I'm afraid they will kill me, it's simply the way I like to play this game. I will state that I usely go for geared people, sometimes KoS sometimes not, but I'm not taking a ton of chances to find out if they want to be my friend or not. You can tell me how this isn't CS, battlefield or COD, and that I should communicate and all that.. But this is how I, and probably others, like to play the game. Sometimes I switch it up a bit and talk to people, let them go when I have them outgunned and stuff. However as I am playing with my friends mostly, we are usely out for action or geared up people to snipe. The OP seems to have an emotional playstyle, which I get. There's nothing wrong with it. It's simply subjective how players enjoy a game. And please, if you can't be arsed to read a post that you, yourself, clicked on.. Keep it to yourself.

Players need an Incentive to value their life above gear
problembarn420 replied to 97ADU Doug's topic in General Discussion
One idea I saw was a person suggesting; your character would be growing a beard over time. No one would want to loose their epic beard I quess, no idea what would happen with a female char though. Smoother/longer hair? -
The Mosin can't hit properly at a steep elevation?
problembarn420 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Don't know if anyone else experienced this, but I find it a hell of alot easier to fight short-range (in elevation) without any scope. Not just because you see more around the gun, but also because I find it helps to avoid the bug for some reason... Would be nice if anyone could confirm that for me, if not, don't sweat it. Even if it's superstition I'll probably remove the scopes in the same scenarios. Additonally, I've shot multiple shots where it seems as if the bullet has hit the grass a few feet away, not ground, but taller grass.. No idea if some grass is bulletproof, or something to do with the bug you are talking about. Feels kinda wonky. Hopefully this issue is beeing handled, which I'm pretty sure it is. So soon we can hit stuff where we aim and zero in. Untill then; happy city-fighting. -
Is Frankie bad at dayz? Just me that think he's kinda good? I might be terrible, but to me it seems like he is good at spotting and shooting.. He doesn't just shoot everyone either.. What kind of person he is, I have no idea, havn't seen much more than his SA movies.
