Hi, I've been searching the net for the passed week and I cannot find any definitive guide on how to host your own DayZ standalone server. I have a data centre with a number of static IPs and VM servers which I would like to start hosting on. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would need the following info: * OS - Linux / Windows * Software - Steam / other * Network config - ports / QoS / etc * Licencing - If needed * Any other useful / relevant info / tips Thanks!
The following articles sort of suggests that people have been able to host their own private DayZ standalone servers: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/156602-dayz-standalone-server-hosting/ http://www.***.me/forum/dayz-sa/104317-dayz-sa-private-server-0-28-113734-a.html
Bugger... Any ideas when privately hosted servers will be allowed? Maybe when it's not in alpha? :( Does anyone know how to become an official DayZ host? Our data centre currently hosts a lot of systems for telephone companies and electricity companies, so it would definitely has the bandwidth to host some quality game servers. I convinced the boss the other day to allow a few VMs for gaming, so if it takes off I'm sure we can expand and host a lot more...
