  1. That was hilarious as f*** :D You have earned your beans.
  2. No sentences, i just keep these in my head: "clothes, voice, backup strat" before speaking to someone:)
  3. Thanks! There's a ton of advise. I'm just gonna write down some main points and when i see someone, i'll take a deep breath and take a glance at the notes :P We're all in this together... Welp, i guess it's just back to the game then,
  4. Long story short, my thought process is very logical. Usually in FPS games i can "outsmart" another player, because i can think the situation from their perspective, and guess where they would move next for example. But when i'm playing DayZ, right when i meet another player, my mind is just blank. I don't have any kind of strategy in case of things go wrong. I guess you could say i panic a bit. Do you guys have any tips to get me calm down in player interaction situations?
  5. I'm definitely in for the more dangerous weather. IRL walking in a harder that norm rain/thunder storm is not a walk in the park on a sunny sunday. Harder to see, wind that can suddenly make you take one step left or right, possibility of getting pancaked by a tree like you said (extremely low possibility irl of course. But still, trees falling over), water everywhere etc.
  6. edit: Whoops, wrote it all in the quote :D
  7. Here's some stuff i've been thinking about. - If you have a handgun in the chest holster, ability to quickly drop your larger rifle or shotgun on the ground and pull that pistol out. Cons would be possible damage on the dropped gun. I realize that a lot of guns are really durable and don't take damage that easily IRL, but this is supposed to be the last chance for you to survive a gun fight, so i think a possibility of damage balances it a bit. - If you're wounded, and don't have bandages or rags, you maybe could hold one hand on the wound to reduce speed of blood loss. Con being that you obviously have only one hand free, so maybe you can only hold small handguns and your aim would be shakier, and a hit to your movement speed. This would up the chance of finding something to bandage yourself with even just a little bit, before you pass out.
  8. Reloading sound? no. Guns don't reload themselves. Something more subtle like sounds from clothing? Yes!

    Play Style

What i always try to say to people: Either we would have waited another 2 years to play the game at all, or play it as they add features. I could go as far as to say that we're going to look back to this day, and say we're glad we got to play the game as they developed it and experience the whole life span of the game. Regards A guy who played Minecraft since Alpa 1.2/Beta 1.0

Did I just hit DayZ puberty?

But where's the fun in it? Players that KOS without any reason what so ever, might as well go to a call of duty or battlefield free for all and see how long they can stay alive. It's almost the same thing (minus looking for guns and clothing). Actually good players that can survive longer, are those that have the guts to go and confront other players and control the situation to not get killed. Before anyone starts raging at this, i'm not saying that no one should KOS anymore never ever at all. In high value loot areas like airfields and other military bases my trigger finger is a bit more loose, but i still don't kill them immediately. I still weigh in the other players actions before i decide if it's beneficial for me to just shoot them.

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

I agree with Evans here. For some reason, in addition to people not getting that the game's in alfa, is that experimental is like the alfa of the alfa. It's in the damn name. The branch is for experiments :D
  12. I usually play HC but with friends it's usually regular. In this case we played regular. I already had stuff in hardcore so this was not the case this time (Though i made this mistake multiple times at first :)) This has happened multiple times. Server's restarting, leave, join, lose gear, leave, join back in, get gear back.
  13. EDIT: Forgot to add that this was after ~60 hours of playtime. Here's a little story for you: I'm playing with 2 of my buddies, we're in the new village west from Svetlo. We hear someone calling for us and finally find the guy behind the store. He has a broken leg. He's asking us to kill him so he could respawn, but i tell him that we have some morphine and not to worry that we would kill him. My friends gives the morphine and i tell him (with a friendly voice) to keep his mosin down just for a bit while we get away from the place. Just for our safety. We keep an eye on him as we get out of the village so he doesn't try to shoot us to at back. Although i didn't worry much at all as he sounded friendly. Right after that the server restarts and i join another server. For some reason i had lost my gear and spawned on the shore (but i got all of it back when i left the server and joined yet another one.) There i immediately see another guy. I ask him if he just joined and lost his gear. He said no, that he just died. He asked "Where you're from dude? "Finland" "Ah okay" It was pretty awkward but he was a nice guy. Before i left the server i just said to the guy that it was nice meeting someone like him once in a while.
  14. On this note, every time i play with friend this comes up: Something to allow to identify or otherwise tag a friend so one can open the others inventory/backpack. To make it more secure, make it so that you have to make someone able open your backpack. Would be just more practical than throwing items first on the ground. (Also i don't really support the idea of having eg: colored scarfs to identify your team. Remembering what they look like, and properly moving around and communicating so you know where they are is better and/or more realistic.)
