Hi, I was wondering if there is a API that I could utilize for building a program to plot on a map where my character is in Chernarus. I am a developer, and would like to write something to track my progress on the map as I wander around. I am not asking for something that will inject anything into the game, but just a "READ ONLY" stream with the map location of my character. Cheers, Dragatsuya

Actually Survivor, the only thing that I would require is my own locations. I don't care about other peoples locations. There are a couple different uses for what I am trying to accomplish. One would be a interactive map that streamers could use in conjunction with their DayZ streams to display a map that tracks their ingame location, another would be for new players to learn the map, and not get lost making their way around the maps. As stated above, the only location I am interested in in my own, not others in the game. Drag.

I have had a response from Hicks, and he has told me that this is "NOT" considered cheating.

That would be the old North East Airfield.

Would making changes like suggested for viewDistance, sceneComplexity, shadowZDistance and perferredObjectViewDistance be considered hacking or cheating in any way, shape or form? Drag.

I would much rather see them hold off posting to stable with issues. Cudo's to Rocket and the DevTeam for recognizing this, and not releasing it to stable. Keep up the awesome work. Drag.

This spawn timer is getting really annoying. When the server reboots on you, and then you have to wait 5 - 10 minutes to get back in, that is just rough. Please DayZ Dev, do something about this horrible spawn timer. Drag.

First of all Gibonez, who cares how many posts there are. If I want to post, I can. That is what this forum is about to voice you opinions. Second, MuchHigher, your petty complaint comment comment you can keep to your self. As I told Gibonez, this forum is voicing opinions about the game, as it is in alpha, they need feedback. A spawn timer of 5 - 10 minutes is not required when you enter a server for, and get kicked, or it reboots. That is just wrong. I am not a server hopper, or a ghoster, I like to play on high pop servers, and muttle my way to the gear that I get. It is my opinion that if the spawn timer is going to be kept, a lot of people are going to get tired of waiting, and just not play the game anymore. From what I read, the server hopping for loot, and ghosting was the reasoning behind the timer, and I understand and agree something had to be done. That being said 10 minutes, that is just retarted. Tops, 2 minutes should be levied against a player, but that being said, the game should flag that the server rebooted, or you were kicked off a server, thus nullifying the spawn timer, or at least making it the least amount that a person could get. As a developer myself, I know that it's not as easy as it sounds, but the DayZ client has the potential for setting a flag in a INI file or regkey signifying a server restart or you were kicked was the reason for your last swap. White Trailer Trash, I wouldn't play a game that made you wait 20 minutes or more to get in and play. And as for bashing someone for posting on a open forum SHAME ON YOU GUYS. Drag.

Hi, First time poster, please bare with me. As I am against server hopping myself, last night when I got home from work, I eagerly attempted to load my copy of DayZ. To my disappointment the client locked just as I was going to get in and see my what changes are in, and what new weapons I can get my character after the update. So I had to kill off the process via Task Manager and reload Dayz. This caused the servers to lock me out and wait the 5 minutes to play, because it thought I was server hopping, even though I was logging right back into the same server I did before. Personally, I don't think fixing the server hopping problem is to make people wait. They hop servers because of loot spawns. A more effective way to correct this issue is to correct the loot spawning, or have it put on a timer so that when something is picked up, it will respawn in "X" amount of time. Moreover, this game is in alpha, General failures, crashes, server stalls, and server crashes happen, and this is just going to make people annoyed with the game. On a positive note, this game is awesome, and the Dev's are working tirelessly on putting out great content. BIG THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!! Just wanted to add my two cents. Drag.

Don't get me wrong, something needs to be done about Combat Logging, Ghosting, and Server Hopping. I just think having to wait 5 minutes for something that is out of my hands is a bit excessive. and for the record, I have never combat logged, ghosted or server hopped. I like to play this game properly, it adds to the enjoyment for me.
