    Avoid coastal towns, avoid people, trust no-one, find beans, settle down in the north.

    Sounds like you had one hell of a welcoming party to DayZ.

    Only players I've encountered so far in SA were new players, but I did have a similar situation in the mod in the same area. Although they didn't combat log and it was 4 people in the time span of 5 minutes, rather fun when I came out on top.

    Its either about luck, or the server. Loot respawns only on server restart, so high populated servers loot goes down fast. If you're on a server, and you suddenly lose connection, usually it means it restarted.
