You can't blame the game or its design for what people do outside of the game. You can't change the fact that some people play with friends, some people play with groups of people that they've found online. There's nothing to be done about this "problem" (can't say I see it as a problem) - so the devs doesn't have to do anything. The reasons for killing other players or not talking to them are as many and diverse (well almost anyway) as there are players.

Cause this isn't a western urban area? The world, as it is now, makes perfect sense.

Oh, I've always thought that we were playing DayZ - Gulliver's Travels. Yeah, in some cases I've been thinking about the size of objects. But not that it particularly bothered me.

Yeah, because it's not like Kuru is a disease that hasn't been studied before. Or JCD for that matter. If it makes you feel any better, you can always look it up in jama or you don't believe that source either because it's on the internet? On the topic of kuru and cannibalism... if cannibalism and the disease itself were to be implemented it would be quite fatal, since you wouldn't be able to control your character after a while due to severe loss of muscle control

A0 is 16 times the size of an A4... And I think a A0 sheet is 1m²

Proxy or vpn?

Yes they're still in the game. I've found them in hangars, in the ATC and in the tavern. There are probably more than that... the last one I found was last week.

"Realism" and a fine line between fun and it being too much.
LeChat replied to Nibashe's topic in General Discussion
Do you honestly believe that Dean would actually implement shit and piss, particularly in a way where people can do stuff with it? I hope, for his sake... that he possess an intellect that is greater than that of a five year old. While he probably strives for some sort of realism, I think he is past shit-humour. My guess is that he and the rest of the team will focus on survival skills and an injury system that keeps things a little bit more complex than: "do one thing and you're back at full health". Personally I feel that it is a step in the right direction, I am not entirely sure I agree with the time of implementation with it - cause I would like to see other things before, but since I have no say in it - I'll just have to accept the fact that it is still a step forward in my book. I hope that things such as coldness and dampness will eventually if not taken care of, lead to hypothermia and eventually death if it is prolonged or if you're exposed to cold temperatures. -

No, no currency - what they need to do is implement some system of trading that goes beyond "I'll drop my things here - it should be visible in a minute". Fixed or predetermined values would be rather unrealistic in a post apocalyptic world that doesn't even seem remotely close to rebuilding itself.

The only feasible sports I couuld see in a post-apo world would be things such as go, chess, playing cards, gladiator games (and those already exist to an extent) and similar to that. Oh and for the record: soccer is football and american football is actually called hand egg.

Dean wants it to work as it does in Skyrim. Not sure how that differs from Rust since I haven't played Rust. And I'm not sure how that translates into DayZ PvP. I'm sure they will nail it though, bows are deadly weapons obviously and should be portrayed as such. I wonder if we will get sling-bows though, that would be freaking awesome. I don't think we will see that in the next update, I hope we will but I honestly don't think so. So personally I'll hope for cooking and fire places.

Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail

Imagine the coast. Bandits are now lining up with their drivers and golf balls trying to take down fresh spawns

2 ounces of gunpowder 3 zombie brains 15 cloves of garlic a handful of fish eyes 3 crow's feet 8 petals of forget-me-not the ears of a rabbit the adrenal glands from a lynx 1 kg of mucus 10 litres of water 1 Dean Hall 3 fl of ammonia 1 glass of tears from a fresh spawn Yes it has to be in different measuring units, otherwise it won't work. Edit: new and improved formula. -

After 22 minutes and 44 seconds my raincoat didn't go from wet to dry or whatever the next stage of non-wetness is so I'm going to try again later. -

No idea, I'm still waiting for mine - it's soaking wet, and I'm damp and my clothes are dry. -

The raincoat seems to take forever to dry off in comparison to the rest of your clothes. Meaning, you'll probably have to keep a pair of spare shirts in your bags. -

Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?
LeChat replied to -MadTommy's topic in General Discussion
I'm not entirely sure. Well I know I like the idea, however it's hard to base an opinion about the practical stuff when you don't know how it will turn out. So it raises quite a lot of questions for me personally. For instance, I do want to see something larger than a yellow protector case. However, these containers - are they going to be containers whose sole purpose is ground storage or should we be able to bring them along like for instance if I die and the containers used are backpacks then I could just go there and grab a new backpack packed whatever I put in it which to me just sounds more like a "I just died and respawned kit". Or should it be something that, if you want to move it, would have to be carried inside a backpack (for instance a larger protector case)? Personally I would just like something that would allow me to not have to lug around with pots and pans and gas containers and stoves and firewood and such all the time. Something that I could see as a 'base of operations' or just the type of thing you would drop at your camp when you're hiking or hunting since you don't walk around with all of your gear and firewood all the time. Personally right now I don't care whether or not it is there after death. If it was I would probably store some extra cans and can opener. The only thing I wouldn't want is the storing of primary firearms, mods sure. But no full SKS/Mosins/M4s/B95s/etc. There are obviously many different approaches to this with pros and cons to all of them. -
Can this computer run DayZ on high? Please Answer
LeChat replied to XxSERSERUSxX's topic in General Discussion
No, he/she made a thread to ask if it could run the game on high not to show off. He or she probably mentioned the monitor and case because he/she is going to build a new computer and most likely already have a list of components he/she wants and thus just copied and pasted that list. On topic: I have no idea if it will.
