Yeah, I find them on the pavements and in the streets all the time. I can't take one single step before I accidentally trip over one of them. They're everywhere!

In my own experience, that didn't happen before the latest patch and today I've had it happen three times so far.

FPS DROPS LAST PATCH - MORE INFORMATION (SPAM TO DEVS)
LeChat replied to stationmax's topic in General Discussion
That solved it temporarily for me. It returned back to the same reduced fps some 2 hours afterwards. Didn't have any other flickering textures, nor had i picked up anything other than food and sodas that I consumed directly. -
Has anyone tried this and played for 2+ hours in a row? Cause the moment someone mentioned the thing with flickering textures, I logged in - removed all of my flickering items and then it was fine... for about 2 hours and then my fps dropped again. Had only picked up food and sodas which I consumed on the spot so.

Found one in those blue, two story houses.

Remove Spawn Timer when joining same server.
LeChat replied to Sir Schmoopy's topic in General Discussion
They should still try and turn it into a better system. If it is at all possible, only use it when connecting to a different server. Ghosting wouldn't happen then or it would still have the same limitations as it does now. Right now you have a 'fix' that works well against what they're supposed to work against - however they also limit or affect the game in other aspects or for people who do not ghost or server hop. Although I know that it won't happen any time soon, but I still think they should. And seeing as everything else is blamable with "alpha" why isn't ghosting, combat logging and server hopping? Hey it's alpha - so get used to it. -
Deans wants to bring Base Building Mechanics from Dead Linger - video
LeChat replied to TEST_SUBJECT_83's topic in General Discussion
By just judging from that video it looks pretty nifty although, it should be more realistic. Cause that ramp wouldn't hold for shit - A piece of plywood with a 45° angle without any reinforcement or support underneath it. But yeah, something like that as long as it is done properly. -

They should add a sheath for the machete, and make it longer. Have to find one of those hats damnit. -

I doubt you'd find Armani suits or gucci loafers in rural, former USSR. Wouldn't say no to more clothes though. -

Sadly, my fps took a nose dive today as of today's patch. Since the performance patch I used to get a steady 45 in smaller towns/villages such as Novo and Stary. About 55-60 in open fields. Now I got about 25-28 (the lowest was 13 at one point for about ten seconds) in Novo and no more than 38 but around 35 in the open fields surrounding it. i5-3570k @ 4.4 8 gb ram GTX 760

To those who dislike the new combat logging timer
LeChat replied to africanhungergames's topic in General Discussion
I never said that a login timer would prevent CL, I said that don't try and say that the solution is a good solution for: Server hopping and ghosting, cause a login timer is better for that. What I said was that the solution where my character stays in-game for 30 seconds while I can't do jack shit about it, is a bad or rather a terrible solution to this problem (CL). It's a highly flawed system that needs some serious improvement. Reading comprehension is difficult it seems. -

I've personally just imagined things such as increased stamina (increasing the amount of time you can run or sprint without you starting to sound like darth vader with asthma and reducing the time it takes to recover and get back to normal pulse again). Or steadier hands after gaining a certain amount of combat experience. Small things. Not, ten points in repair or five points in cooking. Not any actual visual stats or even a meter to show progress, just small subtle things. But I'd be happy with cosmetic changes.

To those who dislike the new combat logging timer
LeChat replied to africanhungergames's topic in General Discussion
Server hoppers and ghosters could easily be prevented by just using a login timer rather than keeping the character in the game for 30 seconds. So using that as an example or as a reason is just plain bad. And as for CL I personally I understand why they implemented it and I agree that it would have be to solved somehow... but I don't agree with this band-aid solution. Why? Because it prevents people who haven't engaged in combat to actually log out when they want, as it is now I have to plan to log out because I need to run somewhere where I can logout where I'm fairly sure no one will see me and wait there for a while to make sure that no one sees me or that someone was following me that I was unaware of and then logout and hope I don't get killed while doing so. This is a process that spans over minutes and you know what? Even if no one was following me I can have the bad luck of someone just stumbling across me (I admit, it's not very likely but there is a chance and I couldn't prevent it, cause I couldn't control my character) and since the general rule seems to be KOS - I'll probably end up dead. And dying because of something as stupid as that? Yeah, that just spells bad design choice all over it. Not entirely sure how to fix it properly, but I don't see this as a proper solution - just some half-assed attempt to solve something without thinking. The reason why I dislike it is because in a game such as DayZ, there shouldn't even be a minimal chance to die by chance from pure game design. Fuck it, they can just add a 0.001% chance that your character dies everytime you log out. Or even 0.00001% chance that it happens - it is just as stupid. With more players, more zombies, roaming zombies (not sure if those will exist), aggressive animals (if they're going to be aggressive that is) - no where is actually going to be "safe". And for the sake of all that is holy, don't argue realism - because it's not realistic. But I guess it is what it is and I'm going to stand by my point of view in 6 months, 12 months or 5 years if I still play this game and it's still their 'solution' to this problem - cause I can't see it as good design if I can die in a situation where I have no control over it (and don't even try to compare it to dying from desync or lag, cause that's not implemented by choice).
