    Three Things YOU Still Want

    1. Slower movement speed/larger distances 2. A lake - like a real lake, not 50 meters to the shore puddles, but 30 kilometers wide and 100 long or something along those lines. 3. I know it's not really the geographical location for it, but still: fells, I want fells or at least a massive mountain area (since the term 'fell' might be a little bit difficult to... determine the exact definition of what it is and what it isn't, there's plenty of mountaineering backpacks and climbing/ice axes laying about so) with snow, sub-zero temperatures and skiis (or at least snow shoes), and altitudes that surpass the tree line.
  2. To be perfectly fair - I don't see what could ever need studying. The game won't ever be that complex - since it's not necessary. Take a look at what it is that people are studying in the world and try to apply that to the game. Some fields are just not applicable to the game. Medicine and anatomy being one field and it won't be applicable because as far as I know our characters does not have internal organs, our characters are not built from amino acids and proteins nor do we contain biological compounds that react with one another. Morphine fixing a broken leg - that pretty much sums up the medical system in DayZ. Electronics then? Well everyone can solder, really. It's not complex and it's not difficult - it might be messy the first couple of times but that's about it. And besides, there's no such thing in the game yet and I doubt it ever will be. Welding? Can be difficult sure, but the difficulties can not be applied in the game because you'd have to invent a whole new system for load bearing, tear over time and welding joints - highly doubtful that they will and if they would I highly doubt that it would be even remotely accurate. Vehicle repair comes down to diagnostics and having the right repair tool, spares and sometimes you might need to weld or solder. But I doubt that it will be even that 'complex' in the game. Could pretty much continue with every single field there is in the world - metallurgy, geology, chemistry and so on and so forth. What we will have are things like: attach battery to flashlight, tear your shirt into bandages, drag and drop. I mean, sure some people did not manage to figure out that a flashlight most likely requires batteries to function and as such they weren't able to turn it on. I think that all things will be intuitive such as creating rags or splints and things like that. Repairing a vehicle will probably just mean replacing faulty parts with a non-faulty part, maybe the need to have a spanner in your hands while doing so much like you need to have a knife with skinning. But that's about it really - drag and drop that's all there's going to be.

Is it to easy to gear up?

Too easy? Well, it's not hard, that's for certain... but it's all about luck though. For instance, I died last night falling down a ladder, so I respawned - ran around three hours without finding anything really useful, except food and an axe, some rope, ammunition for weapons that I'd never find and a backpack. Logged off for the night. Logged in again today, found a Mosin and 60 rounds within 15 minutes (together with an additional mosin and a shotgun). 20 minutes after that I find a SKS. Within 10 minutes of finding the SKS I have found an AKM, 2x75 round magazines, 4x30 round magazines, 2x smesh bag, a tactical vest and some other random stuff. Don't remember the exact population of the servers, but I tend to go to mid to high-mid (20-30). Someone running the same route I did, ten minutes after me... well, they would probably be rather disappointed. Loot will always (with this system) either seem very easy to come by or very hard to come by, depending on when it was looted prior to your arrival and what has spawned or what haven't spawned. But it's not very hard to run to where military grade loot is accessable, if that's what you're after and all you really just need to do as a fresh spawn is to find the 'food house' (in lack of a better term for it) and if you do and it's unlooted - you're pretty much set to embark on your journey to find other shit. For me, the hard part is finding matching clothes that are pristine, getting all pristine mods for the FNX, or a scope, bipod et cetera. I suppose you could restrict access to certain areas that contain military grade gear, by having an increased number of zombies in said places - making it a necessity (or you could just run in and hope for the best I suppose) to gear up before venturing to those places.

"I'm not going to shoot you"

Friendly at NWAF? Sounds like a paradox.

    What's your favorite clothing?

Brown hunter's pants Brown hoodie Brown worker's gloves Brown boots (hikers, combat, military - doesn't matter) Green baseball cap Camouflaged tactical vest (when used, otherwise a chest holster looks good on that outfit too) Hunter's backpack Died last night... from falling through some stairs when crouching, such a anticlimactic way of dying when your shirt is literally months old, a bullet, or a zombie or an axe - anything had been better. But at least I got to kill a boar 5 minutes before dying so I was happy none the less. This time around, I'm gonna go with... well, something else.

what's your favorite backpack to use?

Hunter's backpack, as I haven't been able to actually make the improvised leather backpack yet. Although the purple Taloon did sit quite well on my last experimental character.
  7. Crossbow bolts do quite alot of damage to the internal organs, which is why people hunt using crossbows or even bows. It's just DayZ that has the worst system ever for handling damage and healing damage. Could just as well had spells like 'renew' or 'lay on hands' and it would have made about as much sense as eating and bandages. A shot to chest would most likely slice through your ribs, pierce one of your lungs, maybe your heart, rupture an artery, come out through your back and leave you gushing blood until you die. Don't watch if you're squeamish

    No more Towns

Definitely concur, there are currently - to my liking anyway - too many small villages that are within 800-1300 meters from one another. So either expand the distances on the map or reduce the amount of villages Personally I would like to see at least one real lake (2000m x 500m or something like that - which would be on the smallish side), not the puddles of water that currently exists. Likewise would I like to see more forested areas or mountainlike areas.
  9. Hunter's jacket to match the brown hunter's pants (as well as some that matches the camouflaged ones too). Skirts, yes I'm serious about that. Pencil skirts as well as wider ones. Not that they would be very functional, but then again - there's canvas shorts. Not that it is civilian clothing but, parade uniforms. Civilian berets Some more gloves than just working gloves, knitted, leather, fingerless, driver's gloves...

    Crossbow bolts?

Other than military installations I've found bolts in the brick building (not sure what the most used nomenclature for that building is, but the one with an arched doorway, two opposite entry points, one story, one stair, hallway and two rooms, one is a kitchen-like room) and the piano house.

Does carrying a sporter 22 make you a more 'friendly" player

Don't think so, I carry an AKM, FNX and a Mosin and I'm still friendly. My HC character carries a M4 and a 1911 and I'm still friendly. I think if you want to be perceived as friendly or rather friendlier (as it is probably impossible to be perceived as friendly in DayZ), you shouldn't be wielding any visibile weapon. Then again, people are still paranoid and you could be hiding a sawed off in your backpack.

    Where is everybody?

    In the twilight zone...

    The Problem

I would say that DayZ is perfectly fair, as fair as RNG can be - but RNG affects everyone so it is equal at least, because everyone has to go through the same process in finding their 'rare' weapons.

    To whoever's named " What? "

You can always say "I'm sorry" afterwards... not that they would understand, but still.

    Not a new feature.
