I think NVG's would be great, and actually only about as rare as ACOG Scopes, however one 9v battery should only be good for about 45-60 minutes of use. :D hello battery hunting!

You clearly misunderstand... I'm no casual and if I wanted to play Call of Duty I would have bought it. I want to be forced to make tough choices to survive an incredibly difficult environment. Wild West shooter-game holds no appeal for me. I want the difficulty of surviving the apocalypse to really be shown, including having good working weapons very hard to come by!

have used an SKS before, and really liked it but have now made the jump to an M4, for which I've found a TON of ammo. Will test and get back to you!

I came here from playing Infestation: Survivor Stories, and I really miss their skill tree advanced on by gaining EXP from zombie kills. It really helped develop the character. If something like that was done for DayZ that reset every time you died I think it may reduce PVP and encourage PVE/cooperation with players. -
construction sites for mountain packs, although I have seen them in military areas as well, but I prefer the hunting packs from military zones

If you log in as a fresh spawn like that IMMEDIATELY log out and keep trying to log back in. You're toon should recover what it was before u magically fresh spawned for no reason. I've dong it twice and it has worked both times. -
Even on a freshly restarted server I can't find any loot in the multi-story apartment buildings in Berezino. There are 4 of them that are 5 stories high I think? Do they spawn loot or are they like the deer stands where they don't spawn anything right now?

Think about this: They've been saying that eventually they will have a loot-respawn system (thinkg Infestation: Survivor Stories) so that servers won't have to be restarted to get loot. No server restart = you can leave a full backpack lying around as a cache!!! MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!!!! That would also add a whole new dimension to the game, aka Cache Poaching lol!

Huge crane... might he have spawned near Berezino? Go towards the crane and see if there's a town there. if so its a great place to gear up but get out soon as lots of KOS goes on there.

Suggestion to prolong interest/reduce KoS: different game phases

Dunno about the idea of different server phases, perhaps just different areas of the map, where you have to work your way into the more difficult/good gear areas because of the zombie and environment difficulty? Also I do REALLY like the idea of airdrops. One of few things Rust does quite well is provide the occasional airdrop. this would encourage players to get out and explore more, ut also would satisfy the KOS lusts of those players who like to shoot a lot as airdrops on high pop servers would become death zones! o.O -
or just go into your options and read what each key is assigned to... that's a good place to start.
