I logged back in to the exact same server, and yes i did have a count down when logging in.
-
Was on the prison island and i got a 'no connection to server' counter and got kicked to the server selection screen. Immeduately logged back in on the same server to find my character reset as a fresh spawn on the coast. Have tried immediately exiting and logging back in, different servers, closing game client, etc. Is there anything i can do to fix this/prevent in the future?

I've been in the safe zone for about 5 months... last time I was in Chernarus a large stash of AKM's had just been found and everyone was running around trying them out with the ridiculously abundant scopes that were suddenly everywhere. I'm considering volunteering for an assignment to drop back into Chernarus on a solo recon/aid to survivors operation. Has anyone survived the dangers of Chernarus recently, and willing to give me an idea of what is new in the last 5 months?

Nice catch and a good story! I never noticed that so i'll add it to my kit bag. Cheers man!

A lot of people just change the brightness. Looting at night is both safer and more dangerous in some ways. See the following: PROS -Many people won't play at night so its easier to find very low-pop servers -It is MUCH harder to spot someone at night if you play with normal light settings, and slightly harder even if you turn up the gamma -Zombies don't seem to be attracted to flashlights so you can use them to see loot at night CONS -Remember, if they can't see you, you can't see them = DANGER -Zombies are harder to spot at long range in order to shoot/axe them without damage at night -If other players are on the server, they WILL see your flashlight... currently walls and objects do not stop light so it blazes through and can be seen on the outside Good luck and good hunting!!!

speaking of the high rise apartments, in the tall ones that have a ladder in the center, is that ladder safe to go up? I've seen it but never tried because it looks like there's a pit under it. -

I think it would be great if the crossbow became the mark of the "peaceful" player with no desire to PVP. protection, but not offensive power

It should not be an "on command" thing like flipping the bird is. Rather, when my guy hasta go, he should get a message bar just like the "hungry" or "thirsty" bars, but it would say "defecate" or something. When that bar is up, run speed and turning should be decreased slightly, gradually getting worse as the dooky crowns. You'd hafta get to a safe place, hit your "poop" button, and then you'd squat for like 30-45 seconds before a little pile appears under you (no dropping pants/seeing it come out is needed). Then your agility returns full force!

Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?

Wait, I read the entire first page here and I've gotta ask... is crossbow in stable yet or are you talking about something in experimental? sorry if its a dumb question! -

bump for brilliance! great call! -
I like it!

Agreed... I've done PT in full NBC kit before and you're exhausted after running less than 1/4 mile. There should be SEVERE performance nerfs for wearing that stuff, but also some chemical or radiation infested zones on the map that force you (or, rather, make it well worth while) to wear that stuff so you can go in there.

The reason why you shouldn't use a Ruger 10/22 for PVP

Maybe the guy really was a vet, maybe not, but newsflash just because you're in the Army doesn't make you a weapons expert... 22 rounds tumble wildly after entering the body and can move great distances up/down/to the sides, so one shot could do enough damage to shred the lungs or even take out the heart. Also, there's a difference between stopping and killing. A 22 won't kill as easily, but unless you're on drugs, drunk, or a raging psycho the pain response of getting shot will slow you down a bit. (yes, of course it's still possible to move after getting shot, but probably not real well with 5-10 22 bullets having shredded your center mass... which in game should assure a kill)
