Great games have been made from a good idea taken up by a equally brilliant development team. Aweful games have been made from great ideas with no real development direction in any of them leaving a real mess of a game. Rocket pretty much put this game on the right path, he still has good ideas but from posts in other parts of the forum it seems development on pre existing stuff is the main focus now. I think that this is needed, they know the direction they want its just how they reach it thats important. Like above I dont regret buying this game, if anything his progressive departure comes at the right time.

Im not debating his ideas are much more creative and probably a hell of alot more fun. Im just telling you that if your going to leave a player in the position described above you might as well finish it with a bullet out of kindness.

yes grief, your honestly telling me you would rather someone take all your stuff, break your legs, leave you handcuffed and a bag over your head than a bullet to the brain? The only difference here is the guy is not pulling the trigger so that somehow makes him better? BS.

So basically your one upping the the guys you hate by leaving someone in a worse position? I would rather be shot by some tosser in a tree with a sniper i never got to see than some guy who thinks hese better just because he breaks my legs. The guy who shoots me halts my fun for a possible 10 minutes where i have to run back to the position he shot me at, you however could cost me a hour if not longer to die from one of your griefing options. Dont judge another players gameplay when your own can cause equal, if not more grief.

Then stop reading them? Player to player interaction and storys like the above is what keeps a sandbox entertaining.

Not had any hive resets for 2-3 days now, I would say the issue is probably still there but progress is definetly being made.

To loot a player you need to walk up and aim at him, a white icon should appear, at this point hit the use button and you should see all his gear and be able to loot him. If this doesnt pop up either he logged out a while back causing his body to remain but the gear to vanish OR someone killed him then hid his body. The loot you got will be whoever killed him, didnt have enough space and just dropped on the floor whatever he didnt need.

"You would hope that if they are implemented they should be balanced like this, however look at how long a battery lasts in a torch. I don't think I have ever had a battery run out on me." -This I dont think after leaving one on a M4 by accident it ran out even after 3 days of playing. Like alot of things in this game the degrading system seems to need work, however if they are going to implement something like this maybe they could fix the batterys at the same time. Just a thought :)

My opinion is that this could be balanced, at the moment there are to many players on night time servers turning gamma right up to counter darkness. The night vision goggles would give people the incentive to play fairly however to balance it out, you could make them require batterys that even at pristine condition need replacing after 30 minutes. Thus your balancing it so even people with this vision need to go hunting for items to maintain the advantage.

Is the 14 year old: The kid that shot on sight. Or the one that rages from getting shot. Your playing a survival game that contains guns, if you dont want to get shot dont play the game? Christ.

Definitely seems to be elektro Ran with a squad of 7 people today with no issues anywhere, the second we got to elektro everyone's game crashed. This went on for 2 hours across maybe 7? servers till we gave up. EVERYONE crashed at the same time this was not a coincidence and only in elektro

If you get banned for killing someone report the server, no server can be PVE or against any sort of KOS. If they kick you they should loose their server. Simple.

At no point in real life do you approach a man and see a warning sign pop up in huge red letters showing killer, stalker, thief. The point of this game is to find a balance between realism and fun, so far they are doing a pretty damn good job. Like Mart said "If I can clearly see that he is a 'bandit' then the fear of maybe getting shot goes away, as does most of the fun." Most of this game is player interaction, never knowing what each interaction will bring is most of the fun and the only thing that keeps anyone on their feet, ruining that experience by letting you know what a player is from a mile of only hurts the game.

The option is there so that you can have a wider field of view or a much smaller focused one, making them the same at all ends of the spectrum renders the option useless? If you want the middle ground, move it to the middle? If you want extremely focused or extermely wide range of view set it to one or the other ends? This setting the guy shows in the vid is hardly something you would want inside buildings therefore the opposite end would be considered exploiting in that situation. Your making a trade off no matter what you select, the option is there to allow players to play with what suits them best. People ask for more customisation then complain about it when they get it because someone isnt playing to their specs so it must be cheating. Its about as valid as complaining about the use of 3rd person viewing on a 3rd person server. -

Best spend that long 15 minutes it takes to gear back up! Infact im pretty sure given the state of spawns and the number of servers up now that you could have geared back up in the time this thread has been open Also check your not logging into a hardcore servers or the one you last played on with all your gear wasnt a private hive

5 min cooldown for switching servers is way to little

When you get kicked from a server you get the same wait time, also if your net drops or sometimes even if a server restarts. So if i get on a server that restarts 10 seconds later I should have to wait a hour? This is a game I paid to play not a 20 pound background screen that will sit staring at me for most of my night when these things occur. If your not finding loot the answer is not to ban more people from the server your on its to find a server other people are not on or! How about killing / holding up the server jumpers and getting your gear that way?? -

newspawn is the best time to pull that, 9/10 he will end up back in the spawn he just came from with little to no loss, if by some chance he comes across a gullable player or one with a bad aim he can gear up straight from the get go of some fools gear that let him get close. You got nothing to loose in those first 10 - 15 minutes of spawning but a short run back.

Question - What do organized "squads" actually do ?

Sounds like you met a "Hero" group. These guys usually ask you to surrender, surround you to make sure if you do try to shoot they can drop you easilly with no losses, then proceed to ask a few questions like if you have seen any bandits. From here they usually send you on your way with possibly more stuff to leave with than when you started the encounter. These are the rarest kind of groups, sounds like you got lucky, their MO is usually to do that with any player they meet and gun down anyone they see attacking newbies or tie up suspect bandits.
