Yea it's a known bug, unfortunately for me it's got alot worse since the release of 0.49, How much worse? it's hard to tell because if you play solo how can you know when you haven't heard something but when i've been playing with friends lately i'm not hearing about 8/10 of the gunshots that my friends are hearing, no joke. You could try the FLUSH command, here's how 1. Turn numlock off 2. Press left shift & - (on numpad, Note: nothing visual will happen here) 3. Type FLUSH (stuff happens) make sure your safe though as it can take a little while to complete. Sadly it doesn't change a thing for me but you never know you might have more luck.

I agree with the OP, Arma 3 has the same toggle crouch/stand on the X key that he is suggesting and personally i would like to see it be an option in the future

Stuck in please wait screen resulting in spawning without clothes
AAtlas replied to JelleDRC (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
I sometimes get hung up on 'please wait' usually happens after a login timer, Also if you spawning near a bridge naked that means you've probably got the Vybor spawn near the NWAF just go up to the road and you should be able to see a piano house, thats vybor not sure about the spawning loop though hope it helps. -
I didn't know there were so many ways to say 'you are dead' good stuff

I'm not sure that door States are synced from client to client, i was playing with a buddy yesterday and alot of doors were closed to him and open to me and vice versa, could be also why zombies are walking through seemingly closed doors, maybe if some more ppl were around they might tell you that the door you think is closed is in fact open, it really started screwing with my mind lol.

How can the community help youtubers/streamers?
AAtlas replied to hiniberus's topic in General Discussion
The irony of your post is not lost on me, maybe heeding your own advice might be a good idea while we're on the topic of Off topic and thread bumping posts :P Edit - just re-read your post, thought it was aimed at op, i maybe got a little defensive of him, i get it now..... commencing facepalm. Now back to the topic : In my opinion and i can only speak form personal preference but watching ppl perform the same day to day gameplay over and over is not really entertaining but seems to be what alot of ppl are doing, I tend to watch streamers/youtubers who do a little roleplay (not that i roleplay myself) for instance i do enjoy the likes of Mr Moon, Blizz Hd, vector bunny, kiwo even Kony ffs anything that is not the standard 'here watch me go and loot balota and kill ppl.' but something with a story, goal etc.... if you know what i mean. good luck though. -
Ahh well, Here's to monday being a productive day for the devs (raises glass), they can hopefully squash some issues and get something updated. C'mon fellas, you can do eet.

How is experimental this morning, are the servers still restarting like crazy? i had to switch back to stable for the weekend because couldn't bare staring at login timers more than playing. :P

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
AAtlas replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Zombie animations - the new zombie animations are nice although their static stance can make them look like they are holding a gun from a distance. Zombie speed - The speed of the zeds for the current state of the alpha is too fast mainly for the following reasons: 1) For survivor to get from point A to point B they will have to go around walls/buildings/fences while the Zeds currently have wall hacks and bad pathfinding meaning most of the time they will take a direct route to the survivor running right through the building/walls/fences that survivors have to go around, the knock on effect being that in comparison they can cover the same ground alot faster than a survivor. 2) Cannot enter buildings to escape zeds to hide/bandage because of their x-ray vision and wall hacks. then once the zeds inevitably spot you through a few objects and arrive though the nearest wall into your building melee combat inside structures is so fubar (atm?) its almost impossible to combat multiple zeds because 80% of the melee attacks will hit the roof/wall/anything other than the zed. so you try to run and bandage but then... (see reason 1). Also i suggest that when zombies get within their melee range of the player that they would slow down to maybe 60% of their running speed so they don't constantly overshoot the player or run around you in some insane sonic the hedgehog style orbit making it quite dangerous to try to attack zeds with your buddies standing anywhere near you. I understand that IF the zombie collision problems were fixed and IF the pathfinding was better how epic this would be but the current state of these issues in the alpha mean that rather than being a genuine threat zombies have now become really frustrating to combat and escape. imo it's not so much of a question of are zombies too fast? but more are these changes being made too soon? because its not really possible to gauge whether these changes are good or not with all of the collision/stealth/pathfinding mechanics in the state that they are currently in but i suppose a step in the right direction. -

Doesn't trying making sure that no one else has got any loot make you more likely to be hunted by a pack of starving freshspawns eager for all the loot you are carrying? Idk, It seems kind of self defeating to me.

The only thing i can think of is if you guys have altered your "shadowZDistance=" line in your config file and made the file read only. (which you kind of have to) IF the figure is set below 250 i found that no matter what my video setting was i still had rain indoors, so i suggest if it is set to anything below that to change it and see if that helps, apart from that though, I'm stumped. could well be a bug.
-
It only rains indoors if your shadows are set to anything lower than "Normal" setting Also, on experimental you should now be able to collect rain water into bottles, I haven't tried it yet though so don't quote me on that one

just tried experimental branch don't see the option for SSOA and stuff
AAtlas replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
Bioned, i think you meant SSAO dude. The issue that was fixed was that if you turned off ambient occlusion in your video settings the next time you restart your client it would reset ambient occlusion (SSAO) to the default setting (ON). This no longer happens and you video settings are saved correctly. -
So for a week and a bit since the patch on the 5/2/2014 i had my character from back before then, after that patch i noticed that my character wasn't bleeding atall when being hit by zombies or survivors but i was taking health damage because my vision would be nicely rich and full of colour but would become more and more blurry as i got hit over and over. Healing was working normally and my vision would eventually be restored to normal along with the Healing then Healthy icons in my inventory but then... i Died to a gunshot (like i would expect) so i respawned. After a while i got my Energized / Hydrated icons back in full but as started taking hit from zombies i once again noticed that i wasn't bleeding ever and my vision was indeed still rich in colour but would become more and more blurry leading me to think that i'm obviously still taking health HP damage. This was about 3 days ago and since then i have kept my Energized and Hydrated icons nice and bright green and even continuing to eat / drink after that trying to trigger my healing / healthy status so i could have my vision return to normal. It seems that no matter what i do i can't get them to appear and also can't restore health. The only way i have even been able to play is to use the post processing bug to disappear all my blurriness but lest face it, its a bug and wont be there for ever and also i prefer to know when i've got low health, so, is there another way to fix this? I was wondering if anyone else has noticed these issues and/or have a solution to the problem, will killing myself and respawning fix my problem or am i just wasting my gear by doing that? (not that i'm attached to it or anything)
