It's indeed b***h to find right now. Only certain servers spawn crash sites. The russian choppers drop way less loot comapred to american choppers. 1-5 items mostly. In last 4 daysI've come across 18 choppers, 7 american, 11 russians and yet to see any Smersh Vest. I hope other people are having better luck than me right now cause it's slowly killing me. :(

Sites are still there but not on all servers right now I'm afraid. I've looted 16-17 of them in past 3 days. 6 american choppers and 10-11 russian, no smersh vest yet :( But I'll keep my search until I find my first one ever!

After 3 days and 14 crashsites, 6 american, 8 russian choppers, I've yet to see a Smersh Vest. But at least I found a decent way to farm the crash sites again and com over some nice stuff. You can get, but that means you have to abuse how loot respawn works atm. There are 3 static chopper crashsites currently ingame. I'm not talking about the 3 chopper crashsites (with thick smoke) that respawn on random places after server restart. Currently the 3 static sites dont spawn any loot on server restart, but they spawn loot, if stuff is getting looted around it, 1km radius or similar I believe. You need to be really lucky being at right place in right moment, or having a 10-20 man squad just constantly looting everything around, in the houses/villages in 1km radius of the static chopper site and you maybe get it to spawn. Thats the ONLY way currently getting the SMERSH vest. Pristine TTSKO jacket/pants, pristine assault vest khaki, sporty sunglasses, military camouflage bandana, brown gloves, green jungle boots, Hunters backbag, fnx with all possible pristine parts + 2 extra mags for it, painted mosin with pristine bipod, compensator, worn LRS. 5 small protector cases, inside I got pristine acog, mp magpul and mp buttstock, 2x60 magazines, pristine silencer, pristine m91 bayonet, 2 bags of pristine rice, 2 pristine canteens, badly damaged can opener (damn disappearing items), firefighter axe in backbag for less detction, pristine sewing kit, some mosin ammo, pair of handcuffs. All 5 protetor cases arent pristine yet, been unlucky with farming them outside fire stations :( worn ammo box with 120 mosin bullets, 120 m4 bullets, 80 fnx bullets. 4 med kits with 7 morphine sticks, 2 epinephrines, 3 bloodbags, 3 iv kits, 3 saline kits iv4's, a tab of 90%+ charcoal, painkillers, alcohol tincture, 2 sets of bandages, 90%+ antibiotics, almost all medical supplies are pristine :) Can upload a picture later. Alot of medical stuff, even if I'm lonewolf I have helped people that need medical care. I avoid all busy zones, though sometimes I go to some hot serverhopping spots to get some mosin practice. I really hate the serverhoppers, so every guy I manage to snipe/cripple makes me feel good. Dont wanna throw away all my pristine m4 parts, might get bored of mosin at some point so I can switch back when I find a m4! So, pretty much maximum what I can cary with my current gear atm. Could probably get more spots but that requires putting protector cases in other protector cases or med kits etc, but cba with that, since I find it an exploit! And yeah, kinda too attached to my gear, lost my char many times due bugs and reset, but with my current routes up in northwest, it takes me 2-3 days of slowplaying to get most of it back!

Hey fellow players! Has anyone found any protector cases in the red brick pubs or yellow houses like this map shows after the last major patch? I cant remember when I found last case in one of those buildings. I also think it's one of the most useful items ingame currently due to the extra slots it gives, especially when I'm always carrying alot of medical supplies and other supplies I tihnk I might need in future at some point.

Check my last post! That's why I made this thread to check out if I can trust dayzdb on that front. But after lot of research I finally got some confirmation on at least one of the buildings :)

Okok, sorry for bringing up this thread again but as I posted I've done some testing by now. The yellow wooden houses with red roof, (empty selves in first room, kitchen and bedroom) do indeed spawn protector cases. I just found one in the kitchen as dayzdb states. Though I've checked around 250 of these houses in a week I would guess and thats pretty low %, or I'm just being incredebly unlucky. But I finally got answer to my question, now there is most likely one more house to check but I think that's the one that spawns loot under the house, Im afraid. Yet without confirmation. So far what I'e seen with my own eyes and own confirmation. Places that spawn protector cases, at the current patch of 23.2.2014 on stable. - Firestations - Red brick buildings aka pubs - Factory type building with machines, 3 office rooms, and a small second floor (housev2_03, on dayzdb) - Quite big Yellow wooden houses with red roof The red-greenish small houses, yet to be found any protector cases in! -

Well this time it wasnt close to Novi, I know where that is. Well problem is, I cant suicide. nothing kills my character so from what I see. I cant loot stuff. I dont own a single item. First I thought someone hacked on the server, stole all my stuff etc, but now this is just stupid. I dont loose any of my status. So basically I cant do anything. Awesome! I guess I will be back in 6 months :(

Had something similar happen to me tonight. I was way inlands, close to Lopatino (this is next to the NWAF), it aint a spwnspot right? Server that I always play on resets, it does every 3-4 hours. I log back in, im totally naked, no pants, no shirt, no flashlight etc at the exact location where server restarted. So I've ben logging off, restarting etc, still same Issue. And yeah, I'm still hydrated/energized/healthy as I was last time and I got everythig left on my toobal, except i dont own these items again. But I guess shit happens and I have to start from 0, except this time I got nothing. Not even shoes! :(

I think it's a great idea for beginners and people with shit internet connection/no connection at all at some times. Of course you should not be able to gear up offlne and then go online, that should be separate characters! :)

This happened to me and my friend few days ago in middle of night playing on a relatively small server. I dont know if I should cry or laugh at it but it's one of those moments I will remember for long time and something to tell to your grandchildren! :) So, at the time there was basically 5 players on server including us. The three other guys were from same Clan, tagged [Fear]. One of them was called BorisB but cant remember the other two. So me and my friend Qunzing, we know each other way back, I guess close to 10 years, wow, d2, d3 and other games we played together. We were checking the military camp in Zelenogorsk and we were heading towards to the small town next to the military hopsital faciilt camp. In the grass fields outside Zelenogorsk I suddenly hear lot of gunshots, which one was clearly a SKS and I yell at my friend on TeamSpeak server if it was him shooting at me or what the fuck was going on. Snce it was really late time for us, I guess around 2 in th enight our local time I was tired and wasnt scouting the grassfields ahead. Anyway I take a shot in legs, I dont break any legs though or start bleeding but I could almost see in front of me tha I'm going to die at any second from now. I take my fists out an run downhill, trying o run slalom and avoid more bullets. I think I get hit once more and I start bleeding. Under a bush I finally decide it's time to bandage myself. I do that, the bullets are still floating around me but luckily I dont get hit anymore. 5 seconds pass and suddenly the shooting stop. I'm filled with adrenaline, I still dont know what is going on, where I got shot but my friend Qunzing speaks on TeamSpeak that he just killed 3 guys that were clumped up, 2 of them in the head and emptied at least another 60 bullets on the third one. I'm still dafuq just happened and a mintue later I calm down and go check the corpses. There they are, 3 extremely geared guys with m4, SKS etc, small protector case in another one with tons of other usefull stuff, so yeah very geared, laying dead next to each other on the open field. So what happened - my friend Qunzing was all the time abit behind me and he was not spotted by these guys so he could take them out one by one. From his point of view he told me he had lot of fun, also he didnt really understand what was going on. He also had asked me on TS if I was next to 2 other guys etc. We usually dont KOS people unless we are getting fired at but I guess this time the luck was on our side and we shouldnt really have come out aive from this. I was really lucky with those 3 guys being bad shooters or I was just running in a perfect way to avoid most of the bullets. For at least 30 minutes after the shooting took place we still couldnt figre out what just happened. It just didnt happen. I feel sorry for those other 3 [FEAR] clan members, we could have all come out alive of this if they just would try to contact us before shooting. And afterall, you did ruin my pants and everything inside it!!! But the story doesnt end here. As I believe there is always kharma involved in everything. I was supposed to die. I did it later that early morning or next day - from a glitchy ladder, but I wasnt even angry at the ladder. There is kharma and it's a bitch! :) And yeah, coming back to my friend Qunzing, my biggest hero at that moment. I always tend to fuck up and so did I this time. It was probably 4 in the morning and before the ladder got me we visited Balota airfield to gear him up abit more. We both were tired and when we both went up to the ATC tower in the Airfield I managed to push him off the ATC tower so he died. The server reset few mintues later, all his stuff was lost. Only I, manage to do fucked up things like this :) Also to mention about Zelenogork earlier that night, 2 minutes after the guys died, the server reset, so we didnt get much out from their items. Sorry for this wall of text and probably some grammatical errors. But this is my and Qunzing small story. This is what I love about his game and wants me to keep going!

So, if you keep running ~2200km from Lopatino towards the direction that points to Moscow out in the endless. But I guess it just my imagination. I guess when I get bored enough I stack enough water/beans/rice to make the trip, just for the big hope and fun! :D

After my 300+ hours of DayZ, I would say the AntiStab Vest is the rarest item. I've only found one so far And I run around alot on the map. All train stations etc, which is a route i like.

Dunno if this is mentioned but a simple fix, that would make it much harder for hoppers is to somehow hide the server time or not make it start for example at 12:00 after a server restart. Make it a random timer or just have servers show night/day. I know it isn't absolutely fixing it, but it will make it rather harder for hoppers to determinate if its a fresh server or not. Also it would require much more time and effort to constantly check servers if they are reset or not and somewhat reduce the hopping. Just my 5 cents. And those who keep hopping, keep up with it, one sunny day I will get you when you least expect it :)
