Global Bans for legit players?
Dingus (DayZ) replied to unhap's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm sure the more of you contact battleye support, the more information they will get to figure out what did or didn't go wrong. I can tell you what they are not doing, looking at our forums for that information. -
Find a high pop server and try to be a one man army against everyone. Collect barbed wire and build a maze with a tent in the center.

The map is shared between players. Everyone is technically on the same side, cause it's arma. Since everyone is on the same side, notes on the map are shared. This can produce some unintended hilarious effects and sometimes griefing. I'm not sure if this is a server option, but on the servers I play, it seems to be in effect.
-
Recruit and Regular difficulty servers have a lot of assists for players. I don't know if this would be part of that though. I typically play on vet servers and you do not see yourself on the map at all, GPS or not.

Reiterating http://www.battleye.com/support.html The dev team has no control over Battleye. if Battleye banned you and it was wrong, their support team can help you work it out. -
Heli crashes are randomized at server start. It will likely not be in the same place twice consecutively.

Me and my friends are wondering...
Dingus (DayZ) replied to SawseBawze's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have heard of a can knocking a player out, but not killing. They can do damage, but I imagine it is very little. -
Will arma 3 engine be plagued by hackers too?
Dingus (DayZ) replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
BIS' games, like the Arma series, are designed modular, to be easily manipulated. As a simulation game, this is necessary to give users the ability to adjust things just how they want them to be for their simulation. Sadly, this makes it difficult to completely prevent others from finding ways to exploit this. Day Z became wildly popular, and with that you get a lot of unsavory types. With Day Z now being developed as a standalone, like griff says, it will likely be created in such a way where this is not the case, but only time will tell. I have high hopes. -

That's how you make headlines at Kotaku though. -
So the hackers are a little confident these days.
Dingus (DayZ) replied to tatsuri's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With the announcement of the standalone, we believe there is some extra load. People overly anxious to see their post, mashing the "Post" button may see double. It hasn't been too crazy though. Back to topic, though. I'm not here to derail. -
I think bodies and the loot in them will be gone. I think.

Funny. Moving to Day Z Gallery.

If you feel you have been banned unjustly by Battleye, you need to contact their support team. http://www.battleye.com/support.html Just FYI. -
One thing I would like to see removed from the game: NVGs
Dingus (DayZ) replied to Kashus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't have one to be honest. They seem to exist only because military goods exist. -

When you post it, make sure you do it in Day Z Gallery. Actually, I'll just move this over there now. -
Yeah, I've done this before.

NVGs are a security blanket, honestly. It's the IR scopes that can be golden. -
I'm just trying to prevent this thread from burning down.

This thread is just looking for people to meet up. Any discussion about the philosophy or purposes of the "anti-brony" or their motive are off-topic and not required. Both threads can exist.

I'm going to reiterate. This thread is just looking for people to meet up. Any discussion about the philosophy or purposes of the "brony" their fandom or the show are off-topic and not required.
