I can agree that after many hours of play tonight, I couldn't find much food at all. When I started a new character, after a death, I would find all sorts of shit early. I found ALICE pack, watch, compass, axe, matches, knife, lee enfield, mak, etc. But I'm starving and can't find food. Also, on darkness, I gave up and began playing on a diff time zone server. I'd love to just hold a flare and run down the road, but I don't believe in ringing the dinner bell for zombies or players. The new darkness, immune to gamma changes, seems to be a filter placed over the game. I play on 1680x1050 and in the very tiny side of my monitor, maybe a pixel or two thick, I can see where the filter seems to start. Also regarding flashlight, it's great, but I am forced to choose between it and the eventual secondary I find, and the secondary almost always wins.

I don't know. I've had problems, my friend too, getting into any servers. I log into a server and either the FPS is down to 5 or we get kicked despite having beta 93825 and six updater doing the DayZ install. I just don't know what to do anymore, hands in the air. I haven't even gotten a chance to play 1.7.1 yet. Edit, I found a server that didnt have the FPS problems. I died to the new zombies in a barn, respawned, and found buttloads of equip in a shore town. Even got a weapon pretty fast.

Your DayZ database entry is tied to your CD-Key.

While I'm not bothered by the darkness, since I have a flashlight, I do think it's silly not being able to have a pistol equipped simultaneously.

Sounds similar to me. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13134 I fixed myself by deleting and reinstalling DayZ mod files after patching to beta 93825 again.

Doesn't really work considering you could start a character on another server, then just load it up into the veteran server.

No changes we made seemed permanent, so no harm no foul. As for anyone else having problems and asking, again all I did to correct this was completely delete my @DayZ folder, make sure the latest beta patch (93825) was installed, and then allow Six Updater to reinstall Day Z for me. Good luck to you if this doesn't fix it for you though. I also figure that some servers don't have 1.7.1 installed yet, and even if you're updated and installed correctly, maybe connecting to a server without the update could cause this too. I'm not sure though.

No, I already had the latest beta patch, but for some reason my Day Z mod files did not seem to install correctly, maybe cause of using warrom's updater. Deleting all Day Z mod files and then allowing Six Updater to reinstall them corrected this problem.
