    Gun Aiming

If by "they had some aim" you mean crosshairs? Some servers have crosshairs enabled and some don't. You would want to look for a server that says something like "CH:on" or "CH:1" to know if they enable crosshairs. Otherwise, most regular and recruit difficulty servers have these enabled. If you mean they had some form of scope or aimdot on their weapon, that's a trait of the particular weapon they had. you just have to find one with a scope or aimdot. To be brief, zeroing means that your sights have been adjusted to hit a target at that distance in meters. So if your zeroing is at 300, your sights are meant to aim at a target 300 meters away. If someone is farther, you would have to aim slightly higher in order to compensate for bullet drop. See this wiki article for a better and more indepth explanation http://en.wikipedia....eman's_rule The zeroing of your weapon can usually be adjusted using the + and - buttoms on your numpad. Ah, here may be a better link http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/The+Concept+of+Zeroing+a+Rifle
  2. Maybe someone could take video of it and submit a bug report in the forums. I have not experienced this in Day Z and am short of advice on it. This is normal.

Bandits NEED to be recognized again!

There is a value called "humanity" still in the game for this, but the devs can never agree on how to implement consequences or rewards for it without breaking the nature of the game.
  4. Have you tried another server? The server you were on could have been hacked and been rapidly switching from day to night. I'm just wildly guessing though, cause this sounds really strange. I know in regular Arma 2, you can be injured and phase and in and out of consciousness, fading in and out of black.

    EVE Online players!

I appreciate the coordination and execution of these guys. It was perfect.

Bandits NEED to be recognized again!

Why not check out the other boards on this forum? It's not only the general board. There is a sub board especially for people looking for coop play.

    Save my character?

The hive saves your character's location and status every 60 seconds about. By using abort, you can usually get another save as you log out, but I've not had this happen several times anyway. This character information is ready for you whenever you log into any official server, and your character should be recovered. To log out, I usually wait in place for about 60 seconds to ensure my status is saved. For example, if you are hungry, eat something, then log out immediately, you may log back in hungry still, but missing the food.

How fun is this game solo?

    You're more than welcome.

    I'm pinned down help me!

I think Horrible_Sniper is right, but you could always check the survivor forums or reddit for some medic players. They just enjoy those kinds of rescue missions. If you're close to the shore, you could even try to run back to your body and get your things.

How fun is this game solo?

Place the tent on a flat surface, "save" the tent using the option it should have, and the tent will exist on that server. Tents will despawn two days after a player death as far as I'm aware, so if you die, you have two days to get back to it and save it again. A tent with nothing in it will despawn in seven days. Any player may access any tent, so people try to hide them. If your server resets, the tents may not be available immediately, but usually appear at some point after you've logged back in. Tents have been known to do a lot of strange things in this alpha. Eat items, transform items, dupe items, weird stuff happens for whatever reason. If bad things happen, just accept it. These are my experiences with tents.

Bandits NEED to be recognized again!

Oh hey! It's this thread again!

    I'm pinned down help me!

Hi VinceD. As other posters have mentioned, if you have not made it too far yet, you may be better off respawning. If you have some significant equipment, the maybe someone could discuss a trade with you or feel more sympathetic to your plight.

    Please help me!

The easy answer is to use one of several community created Day Z updaters. There is Six updater and Day Z Commander right now. Do a search on the forums for some links. These programs will download and install all necessary files for you, and then you launch the game from these programs. Doing the installation manually is pretty simple too, but the programs just make it that much easier.

How fun is this game solo?

No one is watching your back. You can have solo success, but you have to play a much more conservative way usually. Going to smaller towns, going to deer stands, using animals/lakes to eat/drink. You can usually find someone to play with in the Survivor HQ board. Lots of people want to play together. if you want to play to kill people, you can go to the bandit board too. edit - As for fear of being shot and losing progress. It will happen, likely a lot. This is Day Z. As soon as you get excited or attached to your gear, you have gained a liability.

    Which channel !?

Direct - Voice/text commincation reaches anyone within about 80 meters of your character Group - Voice/text reaches anyone in the game, but they have to be dead or at the lobby I think Vehicle - voice/text reaches only those in a vehicle with you There is no true global chat anymore (unless a server has somehow put it in anyway). Also, direct voice chat can attract zombies last I read. It's as if your character is really calling out to someone.

    Hola

I'm sure you'll catch on with enough play. Even without a compass or map, some simple real world nuggets of wisdom and a map ready to be alt-tabbed to can help you navigate a lot. Sun sets in the West, rises in the East. On a clear night you can identify the North star in game. Most roads run north/south or east/west. If the ocean is on your right shoulder, you are going either east or north. Things like that.
  17. Broken leg with no morphine in the boonies. Sickness is manageable, shitty, but manageable. IMO
  18. Dingus (DayZ)

    Headshot damage value?

How much more damage do you think you'd take if someone shot you in the face rather than your leg? It's kind of like that.
  19. Dingus (DayZ)

    I dont get this game

As others have said, any where you find loot, you will also find zombies. Their spawns are tied together in that way. The game is about stealth mainly. Use your different movement posture options to quietly navigate around or through them. There are weapons out there, a lot of weapons, but you have to put in some work to get them. Also, as a new player, you can afford some rickier behavior, since you don't lose much if you die. Don't be too scared early. Zombies also have line of sight, so it is possible to lose them in bigger buildings.

    Hola

You will be hard-pressed to find friends in game. I won't lie. Most people are very cautious and paranoid of each other, for good reason. your best bet to find friends to play with is in the Survivor board on this forum. A lot of threads requesting buddies and partners to play with, even clans. There are good people playing, but like I said, in game even the good people can be a little trigger happy when they hear footsteps. I was fortunate to join the game with a group of gaming friends I normally play with, but a lot of new players find Day Z a lonely and unforgiving place.
  21. Oddly enough, Berezino was the first place my friend and I were killed by another player. We were very green at the time though; not playing smart.
  22. Dingus (DayZ)

    Problem

shao is right. As frustrating as this sounds, not all buildings are able to be entered. Since Day Z is using a map from a military simulator (and engine and everything), not all buildings were designed to be. Enterable buildings can usually be picked out by being able to see into the windows, or just remembering what they look like over time.
  23. Dingus (DayZ)

If DayZ was Real, how would you act?

Yeah, but to save the thread, you could go to PM to talk more about it. I don't like to derail threads
  24. Dingus (DayZ)

If DayZ was Real, how would you act?

That is correct, though the anime for Rea was terribad.
