What is your most defining karmic choice you've made so far?
Crazy_Spider replied to TrampoAG's topic in General Discussion
My most defining choice(s) came today and yesterday at the same place. Me and my friend were looting NEAF yesterday, and I was looting the top of a PD while my friend covered the door. I heard a hail of gunfire, and my friend said "shit shit, guy at the door!" I ran downstairs and my friend then said "He's down.". The guy started talking to us. Many people would take his stuff, shoot him in the head, and be gone with him. Instead, I bandaged him, then my friend gave him a saline. We let him keep his gun, as well. We gave him food, water, and we talked for a while even after we shot him and broke his legs. The second choice came today. I was again in NEAF, but this time I was alone... I had just looted the far PD, the hangers, and the ATC. I went to the last PD, opened the door, and saw that the cell door was open... I immediately peeked up the staircase and saw a guy with no gun and a blue backpack. I went back to the corner near the door, aiming directly at the staircase and said in a loud and clear voice "Are you friendly? If you're friendly or a bandit, I want you to come down the staircase with your gun on your back, or you're dead". He obediently came down the stairs, and put his hands up. I asked him a couple questions, then he showed me where some ammo was for my M4. We then looted the town near NEAF. I was suspicious the whole time, as I was wondering why he hasn't tried to kill me yet. Eventually we were in the new prison building, a very confined area. He said he took his axe out to kill zombies, but then he came up to me on the second floor with his axe raised directly at me. I fired a few shots, hoping to send a subconcious message that says "Get the fuck away", but I immediately said "Sorry dude, sorry, you scared me!!!". I then helped him bandage and he morphined himself. After that we split up without saying a word. From this, I conclude that I am a type of player that will often try to shoot for a KO/Broken Legs, then try to help or make friends with the person. Though it often doesn't work out that way. -
Best way to cure amputated hands.

This game has alot of people that make dumb decisions.

Yeah, I have had 5 encounters with people in the PD at NEAF, in all of them I'm upstairs. Most of them probably heard me, and decided to go up the stairs.... I easily blew their heads off in my prone position behind the railing... I never actually loot Elektro unless I'm a fresh spawn, so I have no stories there ^^ -
So the patch broke the anti-combat log system
Crazy_Spider replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I don't mind combat loggers. They give me a good laugh when I see them, as I wonder how they have fun playing the game. Then I go on my merry way, with no worries to ruin my day. -
Can you tell the direction which fire is coming from?
Crazy_Spider replied to Sebidee's topic in General Discussion
No, I play without headphones, and just speakers sometimes. I can't tell if it's behind me, to left, right, or in front. I also use 2 computers for DayZ, one has crappy $10/15 Euro Headphones that still don't enable me to check where sound is coming from. When I use my surround sound headphones, I can easily tell where the general direction of the shot was. Sound IS broken, but you are still able to recognize where it came from. -

So many people hate on Frankie. It's all opinion. I KNOW there are better players than him, but he can see people so easily, and can always hear stuff that I could never hear. -

Bah, ever since I got a new headset, my stats in battlefield sky rocketed, my deaths in Crysis fell, my counter strike performance increased. Headsets and mouses are the only gaming accessories worth buying, everything else is useless unless you play mmos. -
My story. I found a fresh spawn. Took his shirt. Shot him in the head. The End. I think my story is better.

*Directs attention to post above this one... To be honest, though, get a really good headset WITH surround sound. $20 Turtle Beaches won't cut it. If you really want to be good at DayZ, like Frankie, you need to spend at least $60 on a headset, and that's even on a budget. $100-$150 average, and $200+ for stellar pin-point sound. Good luck mate. -
So the patch broke the anti-combat log system
Crazy_Spider replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I believe that if you completely exit your game, like from Task Manager, without clicking exit, your character just disappears, instead of appearing to log out. -
Here are my thoughts, knowing that many people will likely argue with me, I would like to apologize in advance to anyone who dis-agrees with my opinion. (Not really.) Advantages - More weapons, creating a better environment for players. - Proof that Bohemia can fix issues very quickly - Easier access to food in the form of berries. - More Hardcore zombies. - Eat all function *Best part of update in my opinion. - Checking pulse allows for meeting more friends, and checking if people are dead or alive if they are noobs who can't read. - Fixed many issues including Long Range Scope reticle (One of my favorite fixes) Dis-Advantages - Horrible melee animation, is very difficult to use compared to old one. - Ambient noises have still not been removed. - Zombies damage your items too easily. - Protector cases don't protect your items anymore... - Has been made too easy to find a gun due to the new police stations inside of small cities such as Kamenka, Kamyshovo, and Elektro. For the next update - Fixed collision for players and zombies. - Quieter eating noises. - Larger servers 60+ - Loot Respawn to rid of server hoppers. - Cooking & Hunting. - 22. Damage Buff. I hope most of you can agree with my statements, but I doubt it ;) Cheers guys and gals.

I don't understand people, why can't we play as a bandit, and a hero, or a survivor? Why can't we camp??? Stop whining guys :). Honestly, just today, me and my friend were at NEAF on a 25 player server, right when I got there I killed someone on sight. When I looted his body, it turned out he didn't have any ammo for his SKS. If he didn't have a gun, however, I would've helped him, and then told him to log off. Later, still at NEAF, we shot someone who came in the doors of the PD, only because he had his gun out. Just a minute or two after that, another guy came in and my friend shot him, I came down and bandaged him, then we gave him food, water, and med supplies. In that whole hour-some long span, we were bandits, and heros. Don't see why it's not okay to be a bandit? Nor why it isn't okay to be a Hero. I don't understand the DayZ community. Also, nice shots mate!!!

Ok, normally I can handle all of the crap that DayZ throws at us, because it's Alpha, I understand. This time, though, I've had enough. I log out near a bush, so when I log-in I won't be right in the open, correct? I leave for the night after I log out, go do some work, do some reading, go on the forums, then I go to sleep. I wake up in the morning, go do stuff, come back to DayZ expecting to have some fun, right? I log in, and I'm a fresh fucking spawn on the coast of Chernarus. This has happened to 4 of my last FOUR characters. The fifth character died from fucking messed up collision, he fell through a wall from the apartments... Anyway, I'm assuming I'm being killed by zombies, as I play on servers with only about 6 people normally, as I am part of a squad and it's my job to get tons of ammo for us. I have gone through so much with these god damn characters only to get murdered by a freaking zombie when I log out. I want DayZ to make you Invulnerable to Zeds when logging out. I understand players being able to kill you, but Zeds with the new re-spawning system? Hell no.
-
I had one of my characters reset once on DayZ before... But the logging? That's really stupid when I have to go immediately -_- Phone call = Dead Character. Need to shit = Dead Character. Need to piss = Dead Character. I still think you should be invincible to zombies for log-out, or at least not bleed when they hit you.
-
Ok, I'll put it in my fucks given jar, wait, where is it? Oh yeah, I don't give any. I don't give a shit about my gear, I care about how long I had my characters. I had a character for around a week, then I died from logging out around zombies!!!! And all of you guys saying "Oh, you learn the first time stupid idiot". I NEVER died from logging out before the patches, so it's obviously zombies killing me when I log out. I know the issues will be fixed, but honestly keep shit in experimental until it's not shit anymore, make it polished shit at least!
-
It's not only the bloody zombies, the freaking collision problems, making me fall through fucking rocks on the side of a mountain when I have a 2 week old character with a Mosin with every single pristine part it can have!!! Or how about when I tripped on my shoelace, broke my leg, and got murdered by a zombie??? Or when I logged in from the new patch and somehow randomly got sick and died with my 5 day old character??!! All I'm saying is that there are serious problems, which need to be fixed.

Dead player's bodies can get back up as zeds
Crazy_Spider replied to Tricky_Vic's topic in Suggestions
Sounds like a good idea. I have always wanted an incentive to keep players alive. Too many KoS idiots. -
Yep. I know. I'm NOT a retard. Ever heard of patch .42 and .43??? They sorta added zombie-spawning-3-feet-from-you galore. Doesn't matter where you log out, zombies are everywhere.
-
Somewhere safe?! In the middle of the wilderness?! If I'm at a bloody airfield nowhere is safe to fucking log-out, PD building = Freaking Suicide. ATC = Sniper Haven. Hangers = Death Trap. I don't die when I'm in cities, easy to stay safe there, but anywhere else and it's fucking death, death death everywhere!

#TooBright. Unlike your intelligence level. -
Ehh, I hope crossbows are a very common weapon in game, and guns are very rare.

Out of the loop, would love to be caught up.
Crazy_Spider replied to Phalanx102's topic in General Discussion
Here's a fun little story that just happened a day before the patch. I was making my way back from NWAF Down to Elektro to meet my friend who had just gotten the game. While leaving the airfield, I heard a gunshot. I cautiously move back, hugging the treeline. At this point I had a mosin with a long range scope. I see the guy who fired the shot in the ATC tower, and I take a shot at his legs, hoping to break them so I can have a talk with him. I took the shot and hit him, hoping he was knocked unconcious+broken legs. Thankfully, he was unconcious, but I didn't know if his legs were broken, so I immediately cuffed him, and then woke him with an epi-pen. I ask him "Who or what did you fire that shot at?" He told me it was a zombie, but judging from the looted dead body I found near the hangers, I found this hard to believe. After asking him a few more questions, I ask him how long he has had the game, and if he has any friends with him. He said he had played about a 100 hours, and that he didn't have friends with him. I didn't believe the whole part about his friends, so I told him if I even hear a footstep, even if it's a zombie, he is getting shot in the chest so all his gear gets ruined and he dies. After that he obediently does what I tell him to, and doesn't talk much. I finally got bored with him, and I knew he had killed the guy near the hangers, so I asked him "Why did you lie to me about killing that guy?" He just hesitates and nervously says "What do you mean?". I don't even respond whilst I pull out my bleach, then I say "Are you thirsty?". I then start force drinking the spray to him. I tell him a wonderful story about how bleach can whiten clothes so well, but also how it's very poisonous (It's actually dis-infectant spray, I believe, but bleach sounds cooler ;) ) I don't care about losing my cuffs, as I had 5 pairs already. I waited until he died, then I took out my amphibia (Completely silent pistol) and fire 10 shots into him so his buddies can't take his gear back, if he has any friends around. I want to be very careful about getting shot, or avoiding shots for that matter, so I waited for about 10 minutes to see if anybody came in to loot his stuff. After waiting, I assume that he didn't have any buddies online with him, so I make my way out to Elektro. I decide to pass through Stary on the way there. When I make it to Stary, I hear a ton of footsteps, followed by a guy telling me to get on the ground. At this point I'm on skype with a friend, who is near Stary. I try to stall them as long as I can whilst my friend gets near, I tell him there are 3 people, and exactly where they are. I start singing "Somebody that I used to know" to my captors, hoping that they would listen, and not kill me. Around the end of my singing, my friend gets to Stary, laughing his ass off at my singing, which I don't appreciate, I thought it was lovely. Anyway, he shoots one guy who strayed off of their group to loot or something, then their group goes into panic mode. Surprisingly they didn't shoot me! They just left me there, they probably thought this guy/group with the m4 would kill me. So I break out of my handcuffs very quickly, and take out my Amphibia, so they can't hear my shots. I see one of them taking cover behind a building, so I flank around and shoot him in the back of his head, then pick up his M4 into my hands. I load it with one of his 40 round mags, and start talking with my friend about where the last guy is. We carefully searched for a few minutes, and then I heard gunshots and my buddy screaming "I'm unconcious!!!" I ask him where he was, then I follow slowly to his location. I see him immediately, he probably thought that only my buddy was there, since my shots were silent. I see him crouching by my friend's body, and then I take the shot. Again, it was with my Amphibia, and since I only took one shot to the head, it knocked him out. I was sure that he and his buddies were all dead now, so I decide to wake my friend up with my last epi-pen, then I cuff the guy. We make sure he can't hurt us, then we started telling him, how sorry we were. I am one who is for good ol' holdups in DayZ, but sometimes they back-fire, and this was one of those times. I tell him that I'm sorry, then I proceed to blow his brains out with my M1911, as I wanted to make as much noise as possible, hoping that someone would come across the bodies and get some good loot ;) After that I made my way to Elektro solo, as my friend logged at Stary. Not much else happened after that, but this was a very interesting adventure I went on, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it, as well. Cheaes guys. -
Honestly, everyone is aware of these so-called "Issues". I think that the zombie glitches are very easy to deal with right now, and adds a somewhat sense of realism. The only thing I really want fixed is the glitched falls. Today I was going to cover my buddy with my Mosin while he looted Kamyshovo, and I suddenly fell into the middle of a rock on the side of the mountain, got launched all the way to the rails, and died. I was pissed because I had that character for more than a week. My buddy picked up the stuff, but holy shit was I pissed.
