    Character development and passive skills

The skill should progress in such a way that it would be hard to grind it. For example stamina shouldn't increase only by running. It could increase only when running on HEALTHY status. That way your character could have a passive progression, player wouldn't do it on purpose. In time, the character would become a little stronger than a bambie, which will be valuable, especially when someone survived long enough.
  2. No. Most likely they won't be wiped out. It occured only once, when they changed servers' security measures.

    Character development and passive skills

I am definitely for character development. They could add something similiar to stats from GTA San Andreas.
  4. You need to know that the hunger problem in this experimental was mainly because there were only a few servers available. Releasing it as a stable won't change much in terms of finding food compared to current (stable) situation.
  5. Stop arguing. Just go play and report bugs.

    New vote/idea system...

Try to be realistic before doing something like this - it won't work. Firstly because people don't like having accounts or even visiting several webpages related to the same topic and secondly, because the devs won't visit it at all. And yeah, the current way of suggesting something is a crap. There are milions of topics created and it is indeed hard to distinguish the good ones. And what i mean by "the good ones"? The most popular, most liked suggestion. By a good number of players. In my opinion, there should be a POST SUGGESTION page, similiar to the REPORT BUG page. Look at rankings there. You can easily see what is most important for players (by voting) and I believe that the devs occasionally visit it. Creating POST SUGGESTION page would lead to having about 50 good suggestions seen on the rankings, which the devs could think about seriously.
  7. It may be, but I'm whining about people and their mentality, not the game itself.
  8. I disagree. Slight advantage would be okay. It's the same as having better gear than other player. To gain both you will need to spend some time (not counting some weird situations where you happen to kill fully geared player with bare hands soon after respawning).

    Clothing Ideas

    Excuse me?
  10. I think that character progression (in any way) would add to immersion and bond between player and his avatar. In other words - you would value your life more. Dying would not only deprive you of your weapons and gear, but all that skills and experience (again, in any way) you gathered from playing.
  11. I will never understand those whiners here. I wonder what would happen when there wouldn't be any alpha released and the people had to wait for the final release in a year or two. Would you be crying that the game is delayed and you have to wait such a long time to play it? Stop whining for God's sake and appreciate that you are actually given an ability to play this game, AND, what is more important, be a part of the development process. Nobody forced you to buy it, right? And you saw the information on steam store, that it is bugged all over the place. So what the hell is wrong with you people? STAHP.

    Clothing Ideas

If you want to play clothing simulator game, here it is: http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/
  13. About item management - personally I like the idea of realistic backpack/clothes inventory slots. The "tetris problem", which occurs with current item management, shouldn't be an excuse to keep this as it is now. Having good pants, shirt, vest, backpack is enough for carrying most vital items nowadays. This way, the more "inventory" items you have, the more you can carry. And you should be given a choise: would the vest that has 4 1x2 slots be better for me than a holster, where I can carry my pistol and free some space in my backpack for other things? That may not be the best example but I believe you get the point. About missions: this is also a good idea, it would provide additional goals for players. But I guess this kind of improvements should be left for when the game is nearly at the shipping stage. Same about crafting weapons and vehicles. To be honest, DayZ has huge potential to have some RPG elements introduced in it. And why? Open world, a lot of possible activities to do (like hunting animals, little "quests"). And the more distinguished your avatar is (gaining new abilities, skills, some kind of experience), the more valuable it is for a player. And the more valuable it is for you, the more careful you play, the more immersive this game becomes, when it comes to surviving. Cheers, fisheye
