    DayZ | +30 QoL suggestions | Part 6

In response to #30... many homes have propane tanks on the exterior... like gas stations, we should be able to refill the gas canisters at those.

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay

This threat is really one of the dumbest I've read... filled completely with inaccuracies and just blatantly no knowledge of the game and yet you seem to think boosting it is going to get something accomplished for the past year. This post is a joke and wrong on every level. None of the points made about the gun play are accurate. They added inertia, you lose accuracy on hip firing and when you barrel roll on the ground... weight has affected your stamina and accuracy for a long time now. If it feels like COD to you, maybe you're on the wrong server.

    DayZ in 2023

I think replying to Parazite or THEGordanFreeman is useless. I've watched them complain for years and like them and you I have had Dayz since it was first released 10 years ago. Yes, promises were made and not fulfilled. But the game today is fantastic in relation to where has been. Is it perfect? Of course not! But still an incredible game!

    DayZ in 2023

OMG, everytime I get on the forums to check for updates all I see are crybabies whining more and more about the same things. DayZ has never had more players then they do recently. If you actually played a many years ago, this statement about it being a "shell" of it's former self is a joke. It's never been more dynamic and wonderful. It feels great, so many bugs have been squashed and there's so many new things, especially in the most recent years, that it's incredible. Anyone on here crap posting about DayZ really needs to take a hard look at where it actually was and not your feelings. It's great, and I greatly appreciate where DayZ has come from and where it's going. It's a beautiful game and instead of bemoaning the game you continue to play and then cry about because you haven't gotten better at it, maybe you should offer some encouragement and be positive toward the devs. I think this game is incredible and beautiful and has never been better!!!

    Chernarus must evolve

I agree with asmondias as well as parazight... Mind you my computer is crap, but I have had Dayz since Feb of 2014 and logged more hours than any other game. It needs a soft goal... Not a clear objective but an end in sight and an ever evolving map some how. The seasonal events are great steps toward this. How about texture changes for times of year or something? Discoverable story that flows through Chernarus and makes an interesting quest, that changes throughout the year? Idk. But we don't need more guns, we need enrichment and optimization.

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News

One thing... there have never been more players today then ever before or atleast for years now. The player base grows, not gets smaller.

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News

OMG... you people who are against the wipe have NO idea why they do it and it makes you look dumb. The reality is they HAVE TO wipe whether they like it or not. The reason is because when they edit the game content, your character, which is off the server at the time of the update, has items and information on it that becomes part of the previous patch/update and is now outdated and can cause a crash on the servers. They wipe the game and characters to make the game FUNCTION PROPERLY FOR YOU. If you're so clingy with your items your playing the game wrong. This has been established for years now. You must get over your fear or losing your gear. That's just how it is. Period. Plain and simple. No way around it. You'll die one way or another and in the end end up as a new spawn on the coast needing to get it all over again, which is readily available. You need to learn to enjoy the journey. That's what it's about. Yes survive, but each new level of game play from New Spawn, to someone just entering the interior of the map or someone who's been to the farthest reaches and back has it's own and unique things you can do and try. use your imagination, meet some new people and/or die trying. That's it.

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News

AS a 41 year old, no idea why you "old men" think that means anything, who has been playing this game since it's near creation as a stand alone... get used to losing loot.... nothing is permanent in this... I've you've survived for a long time, awesome. Good job. But you'll die eventually and lose it all. This isn't odd that this happens and it's not because they're jerks, it's for your benefit. To make sure the servers run smoothly and as glitch free as possible. You should be thanking them.

    The HARDEST quest on DayZ!

TRMZ did this solo! His 4 part series is utterly epic!

45 mins to fill a barrel

If there was water previously in it, yes you do need to purify it. And like someone else said, 1 tab will do.

45 mins to fill a barrel

OOOR... leave the barrel out in the rain and it'll fill for you overtime... seems like not really that important of an issue. You want water in your barrel, let the rain fill it for you and it'll stay filled.

    1.18 Experimental Release

I have found that those have attempted to raid my base need to use a lot of gun ammo which is so much easier to find. I'm not even worried about plastic or ieds because detonators are so hard to find. Using guns seems to be more effective then explosives since they didn't change the damage guns do to walls.

    The current state of DayZ

Dude, I have also been playing since 2014 and only ONE time when ghosting was a thing back in 2014, have I EVER run in to a very clear hacker If you just all of the sudden die... doesn't mean a hack
  15. discipled

    The current state of DayZ

That's all fair. I get it. Not every game is for everyone. I personally find the beauty and peace of some of those long times alone in the mountains and forests. I can't do that in my own personally life so it's nice, even if it's fake.
  16. discipled

    The current state of DayZ

Lies that people keep spreading. There are hackers... but I've been playing for a very long time and i haven't run into a hacker on an official vanilla server in many years.

    The current state of DayZ

it honestly sounds like this isn't the game for you... well the Vanilla version anyways. I bet you'll enjoy heavily modded servers more. You might want to try them.

I don't understant what is dayz game for?!

It's not an easy game. It's a survival game. It takes time to learn how to play it and survive. It's not exhaustive, but if you think about what you can do in real life you'll get a better idea of what you'll need to do. Search, hunt and fish for food... Stay warm and hydrated. Sneak by crouching around zombies. Don't worry about dying... it'll happen.

    Roaming Zombies

I don't see how this couldn't be implemented, but then again I'm not a game maker or programmer, but if we could get a hoard(s) of zombies similar to how wolves are done would be incredible. I don't know if this would be difficult to create but if we could hear zombies groaning in the distance like a wolf howl or bear growl would just be fantastic. Like 10-15 zombies... we could even have zombie raiding parties to hunt and take out these random spawned groups of zeds.... I've been wanting this in game for so long. PLZZZZ can we have this??? 😁😁😁
  20. discipled

    Roaming Zombies

I like things the way they are, mostly. I just want the random hoard to dynamically spawn someplace like the wolves and bears do. This would add a great aspect to the game.

    Roaming Zombies

Keep me updated too! I prefer vanilla... so as long as it's just the animals and zombies are altered i'll consider it as well.
  22. discipled

    Roaming Zombies

I totally agree with you. One of the best experiences I had on vanilla is that I got attacked by wolves, ran into town from them to live and in doing so aggroed the zombies too. i had to kill them all from a window in a building. Wolves and Zombies should attack each other. That doesn't feel realistic that they don't. But the fact they can create dynamically spawned wolf packs, I don't see who they can't create dynamically spawn in zombies in the middle of the woods or grasslands. I mean just imagine needing to run from a hoard into a town to just aggro the towns zombies so now you have 20+ zombies on you... incredible!!!

    Flagpole kit placement...

I have placed it in the woods, but that was week or more ago. IDk why yours is having trouble. BUT that's also on PC
  24. discipled

How could you give up the old sky?

    Is this a complaint?
  25. I too find it very interesting that you had to wait around in a town til enough spawned for you to survive. That's very interesting to me and I too find that fun. I don't know if I agree at making the character limp sooner or more, if I'm understanding what you're saying. I don't know why that should be and to what point. My main frustration is with current food and water balance are two things. One, not that it's hard but that no matter how much experience a player has survival is still totally up to chance. Maybe that is part of survival, i guess, and this game. I just know that in real life there are things I can do to survive in desperate situations. I just want to see more gathering necessary to survive, mushrooms and berries. Speaking of immersion, it's quite the antithesis to immersion to have to kill zombies to find cans of food on them. My second issue is what I said in an earlier post. late game, fully gear characters, have it too easy. Water should be a MUCH bigger issue and needing to drink it or consume it from vegetables. Meat, except for fish, shouldn't give you the amount of hydration is currently does. Fishing is perfectly balance imo. It takes a lot of resources and effort and fish give a lot of calories and water.
