  1. I agree with MOST of what you said. But calories need a small tweak and abundance. I love the direction that the early game is going. I love finding all the garden plots now. Before 1.09 unless someone seriously wanted to, gardening was never done. This necessity for food and moving toward vegetables is great. I think pumpkins needs to be fewer per square BUT give at least 2x the amount of calories. I want to see more mushrooms and berries in the wild. @ImpulZ I really think the late game needs better balance food wise. I think meat gives WAY too much hydration. Seriously cut that back a lot. Eating a lot of meat in real life can actually dehydrate you due to the necessity for more water during digestion. That being said, meat should be the opposite of vegetables. That would increase a more realistic need for diverse food consumption and/or meat and lots more water in the late game. You can literally not need a canteen or water bottle or pot and just eat meat and not need to drink again once you're in that later game portion. I think this balancing isn't right. Make the late game more about needing water more or vegetables.

    The end of DayZ ?

It's really good since the elder days, lol. I'm excited for 1.1...
  3. I would love to see, instead of changing a whole lot, increasing the number of berries and mushrooms that spawn... The current patch has done something great, and made people actually farm and grow vegetables... I'm loving it. Being as experienced as I am, I still, as a new spawn, have a good chance of starving because I didn't find a way to open a can or vegetables didn't give enough calories... I guess I really need to cook the vegetables now so they give more calories. Is it balanced... idk. I'm seeing a lot of garden plots popping up and vegetables about. As a good guy I'll every once and awhile just go and plant seeds for new spawns along the coast. That being said, hunting has been good for many patches now, I think vegetables maybe need balance on hydration/calories. And I would love to see more mushrooms and berries but not excessive amounts. Maybe since they spawn dynamically they could increase the range a player needs to be to trigger this. That might solve the problem alone.
  4. You got sick probably because after killing a chicken you didn't wash the blood from your hands, that's Salmonella... When you vomit you lose a TON of Water and Calories... it's highly destructive to your character. If you were cold and wet and sick, yeah makes sense you died. Keep warm, dry and wash your hands. Drinking from a well/spiggot will not get you sick. You got sick because of the bloody hands or from drinking from anything else NOT a well. if you drink from a found bottle of water you can get sick from that. Dump it out and fill it up from a well... OR if you boil water in a cooking pot that'll sterilize it too OR use chlorine tabs. It's not a bad game, it's lack of knowledge that killed you.

    The end of DayZ ?

I think a lot of people cry "hacker" because they don't full understand the game. YES, I believe there are hackers. But since 2014, I've run into 1 hacker in DayZ... one of those ghosting hackers back in the day when they would zip around barely there... not speed hack, but move around like the girl from The Ring. Outside of that... nothing.

    The end of DayZ ?

Most of this sounds like complaining and opinion... but I will address your #5... The reason you can't put items, like backpacks, into other containers like the trunk of a car with loot in it is to prevent the unlimited loot holding like there was originally. Originally you could put a full shirt, into a shirt with additional slots of left over for more items, into a shirt with other items, into a shirt.... etc.... It creates infinite loot holding. They prevented this from happening by keeping items that are holding other items from being able to be placed into items.

New loot respawn timers are next level stupid

Disagree... while I do feel there needs to be some more balancing, such as less cans and more stones to find on coast instead of dirt paths (Which will fix lack of knife issue completely). I love that it's harder to survive and i love finding random loot out and about that players have dropped. They seriously need to increase the number of small stone spawns considerably by the ocean and train tracks. That alone will make the game that much more balanced and immersive. Having to survive off zombie loot is pretty ridiculous. I completely agree with you, and like I said above there needs to be some balancing tweaks. But with this I'm also loving there just last night I ran into 2 brand new players for their very first time playing and I was able to show them how to find food and fish early on. It's a zombie survival game, not a PVP lets go loot real quick and shoot some people game. If you want to do that play warzone. P2P interactions are key to the quality of this game but making to harder to survive has created some wonderful interactions that I've had just since 1.09 dropped. A LOT MORE cooperation, but then I've had groups of people heavily considering cannibalism, which before wasn't really anyone consider because it wasn't necessary. Unless someone has a sway toward the macabre, no one went cannibal. This is going to add a GREAT new aspect to the new meta.

    Temperature

I don't have any problem with getting cold but it's all the time! Why can't there be days we have to deal with over heating, especially with the large amount of layers and clothes we have on??? Why can't that be an issue? It will create times when people can't just go sprinting about in full gear all the time. The cold is non stop all the time seemingly.

    Temperature

I just want the variety. But it seems to rain way too often. I don't mind how cold it gets, but it'd be nice to have variety.

Public (and press) reception of DayZ in 2020

Is sad. I've be playing since 2014, took a break for about a year or so, came back and much of the game is not in that was in and there is some new things but then learned all the original guys are gone from development

    Temperature

I remember that as well. To cool off you had to go swimming. That's when they first introduced hyper and hypothermia. Now it's just always cold or raining
  12. I've played since 2014 and stopped because life but started again because if quarantine and finding out there's more things added but lots of things removed.
  13. Can we bring back the Bow and Arrows please... why were they even removed???

    DAYZ destroyed by 1.08

I haven't gotten really anything except one crash today. But I play on vanilla servers. Sounds to be a community server issue
  15. I killed a Dean zombie... it had a kiwi on it... I see what you did there.

Are you kidding me? How is this slander?

And it's players like you who have nothing constructive to add and just want to complain even though you acknowledged you purchased an unfinished game. Then you want to claim, through making blanket statements that BI and Dean are just taking money and not actually working hard on the project, that you know the process and what is needed in making a game of this size. I am fully satisfied with the speed and integrity of Dean and his team. They are working hard to get the game out and do it responsibly so there are few game breaking bugs. When people point out it's an Alpha is the best way to respond. It's not a finished game, it's got many minor and some major bugs. You have this view, probably because you're most likely some kid, based on the fact that you're used to playing fully made games. This game is going great and I am extremely excited for the final product to comes this next few years. Things are going great.
  17. I think zombies need to be polished, a lot, but I think the PVP aspect needs to always be there. What will always make this game worth playing for an extended period of time is the PVP aspect whether that is friend, neutral or aggressive. It's important and the human factor is what makes this game worth it, valuable. Surviving alone irl or even in game is almost not worth it if it doesn't have human interactions. Because of the aggressive PVP will always be there and that's what is the real risk and makes the good interactions worth it.
  18. I'm really curious about something. You're wanting to do this PVP thing in this game, that's fine. But how annoying is it going to be when they've at least doubled the amount of zombies, they actually run up stairs to you, maybe open/break down doors, hear your shots from outside of towns/cities and spawn outside of town and run to you and their attacking AI is far more accurate and precise? It sounds like what you want is PVP without zombie interference in a zombie appoc game. I don't believe you're paradigm of this game is accurate. If you want to do straight up clan PVP fights you'll need to find a different game or do it in the wilderness or smaller more remote towns.
  19. "In a real-world scenario"... really? corpses wouldn't be running or walking or attempting to eat your flesh at all but being fictitious I think they can do whatever they want. But these aren't rotting corpses. They're people with an infection similar to "The Rage" even. On another note, why are there so many players who are so ignorant and negative. They claim they know exactly what's going on by stating the devs won't do anything to update the game and cry like little children because they don't like the current state of teh game, when currently the game is being actively updated very often, it's freaking early release and the devs are so communicative with the community and laying out their plans. They WILL add more zombies, Dean has said so himself. They WILL increase the smoothness of this game, Dean has said so himself. Dean laid out the roadmap during the rezzed talk and it was awesome!

will the bow and crossbow be a primery

You didn't think this through. First off the sound would attract every from other survivors to bandits and even worse massive hordes of zombies your .223 wouldn't be able to deal with. In TWD the masses of zombies are in the hundreds. Daryl survives because he his exceptional at being stealthy, quick thinking, and rugged. He was made for the zombie apocalypse. In the real world you can't snipe someone and except to be able to loot their bodies in peace, you can't snipe from a roof top and expect to survive there because you'll run out of food and water even though you're barricaded. Shooting a gun would only be as a final option as it would draw agro from zombies.

What has the standalone become ?

You made me salivate at the awesomeness of all the things you listed. I'm so excited for those things and the things beyond what's limited. I disagree with what you're saying. When you begin to limit things like running around in your underwear and be a dumbass, then you're limiting some of the greatness of this game. You can nearly do anything you want to. That's the main strength of this game, is that you can do nearly anything you put your mind to and when they add even more functionality of this game even more options of things to do open up. I mean just look at all the creative things done and the videos that prove it on youtube. This game has so much going for it. It's incredible.
  22. My opinion is that, at this stage of the game process, they're fantastic! it's make for much more exciting experience and anything more than 1 zombie and i'm freaking out, especially when they sprint right up into your face. I'm excited for the day when the spawning system isn't just a simple place holder and it'll be implemented to be what it's meant to be. The zombies themselves just need to stop being able to hit you from more than 3m away, unless they're jumping at you, and the melee system needs tuned. But i'm really excited about the direction things are going. As a personal opinion, masses of slow zombies is more of what I would love but if the devs wanted more of the fewer but faster zombies I'm not going to complain. They're infected people, such as from "28 Days Later" and if that's the direction the devs want that's an understandable direction and with fewer zombies it will cut the load down on the servers or whatever. In all I say it's a positive step in the right direction. tldr: 1. faster zombies good 2. spawning needs tuned 3. melee needs tuned 4. excellent direction for zombies :)

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

I had to learn what the berrie bushes look like so that I can survive to make my way inland to where there is still loot.

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

I totally agree. Experimental last night felt amazing. I had to log on to a UK server, from Ohio, and had zero lag issues, desync or rubberbanding. Plus the zombies able to sprint is freaking awesome. Though I did see a very strange occurrence. Was up by the radio tower north of Three Rivers when a zombie started sprinting at me. It appeared to jump because it launched at me as we were going down hill but it died in the air and I was running away from it being a new spawn without a weapon (every freaking item had been looted everywhere). And on that note I really hope they increase the spawn places so loot isn't so scarce always. I actually let a zombie kill me once last night because I was literally dying of starvation... a first.

I agree totally on the need for a blonde character model! I'm feeling discriminated against. About the hoodie though, those are in game. Just fyi.
