zeds are broken in latest patch, had them agro on me from 500-600m away while I was sniping. Needs to be fixed. Like the faster speed though

Do you believe people who shoot on sight are terrible at DayZ?
ASDF991 replied to GriefSlicer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I KOS anything that moves besides zombies since zombies are useful for alerting me to a player in the nearby area. I kill on the coast, I kill in electro, I kill in Berazino, any time anyone tries to interact I just shoot them. It's entertaining to me, until it's not and I'll find something else to do...my avg char probably kills between 50-100 people before he dies to some random glitch..and I only minimally gear my char. -
I would administer lead to the head from 500m away like always, I'm so helpful
-
Honestly something like this is not even fun, I just end up leaving the server.
-
daymn straight, I don't see why the devs should be implementing changes that directly negatively effect snipers, first it was the Mosin reload animation which made the gun more of a pain to accurately see where the bullet drops and now rain to the point where I can't see anything. It's not just me, if this is how rain is going to be your going to see; NO RAIN 24/7 DAY servers popping up.

I shoot people all the time when they are in the logging out motions, most do it in the middle of the city like morons but I've shot people in areas that were quite hidden seemingly. So you probably were killed by someone like me. you can thank the devs for that dumb decision.

Bottom video is not 950m....it's probably 800-850m still nice though I can hit most with HS between 700-800m if they are standing still...still the terrible gun mechanics make perfect shots miss "Randomly"

ok, I only skimmed a few posts and saw someone talking about how DayZ was not a military simulator and it clearly is, if the conversation was something different then my bad.
-
DayZ not a military simulator, that's a good joke, the entire ARMA II engine is identical/similar to the engine BIS gives to the US military for training on. Everything about DayZ is military simulator like and the game has not added nearly enough to take away from that, maybe they will but I doubt it.

Forcing people to play 1st person only is a terrible idea and will remain a terrible idea. There is a reason hardcore servers are outnumbered 50:1 by regular servers currently, 1st person will always be a niche. I have one character on a hardcore server, had to turn it off after 5 minutes of spawning it's just a completely weird way to play.

I run along coast and fight the little Mike Tysons or run north where virtually nobody goes even on a 40/40 server? At least the mod had helicopters and cars and stuff to keep people occupied, It gave me pleasure to snipe people trying to get into the helicopters in the NW airfield, I'm sure that's coming in the SA but not for some time.

Become what you hate, get a Mosin and camp somewhere and blast anyone's head off that you see, there is very little content or anything to do in the game ATM.. I blow 20 peoples heads off in elektro every night then quit playing for the day, waiting for a patch with more content to be added. Stream sniping keeps you entertained as well if your into that, I love watching their reactions when I kill them.

lmao, Berezino has just as many glitches at Elecktro does, a bit harder to find I'll grant you that but they sure are there. There likely isn't one town in the entire game at the moment that I couldn't find one spot to glitch into a wall, collision detection in the game just doesn't work right now.

Maybe someone should remind the devs of the age old saying.. "if it's not broke, don't fix it"... B)

Grimey Rick standing down from DayZ within a year.
ASDF991 replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I started playing the mod among the first days it came out and played it for months, then never touched it again for a year plus and only recently picked up the SA... Rocket says he's done with DayZ but nobody ever is, it draws you back. Nobody can leave for good.. B) -
Just had a sour death. This game can make you feel really bad sometimes!
ASDF991 replied to Hagon94's topic in General Discussion
when I log out with a LRS and log back in to the "character cannot' be loaded" bs message. I just turn off the game for that day..ugh...has happened twice now. I rarely if ever die in the game by player deaths, the alpha bugs have claimed 90% of my characters..lmao.. -
I was playing ARMA II flashpoint earlier today and noticed how different it felt from DayZ, the guns actually fired so much nicer. I still don't understand how they managed to screw up weapons in the SA to the extent that they have, hopefully soon it will all be fixed.

It seems like many good updates coming up by end of March which is pretty nice considering the recent slow'ish pace they've been updating, the biggest fix I've saw was the rubberbanding issue was fixed and the half assed server hopping penalty was implemented.... looking forward to some real content being added...

DayZ: Hunting Simulator 2014. I hunt occasionally IRL so now I can do it virtually in game... B)

Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
ASDF991 replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
There is a market for survival genre games, someone will figure out a formula for a good engine and a decent game. DayZ SA almost has it, the ARMA II engine cripples it, no wonder Dean is leaving. If anyone can do it it's one of the major studios that have put out some fantastic games. Survival has long been the forgotten genre of game development except for small indy games...it's sad. -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
ASDF991 replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
One of the greatest things about the DayZ SA is all the big studios saw how a survival genre game could sell 1.5Million copies for a early access Alpha....in 2yrs or less your going to see the major game studios start developing survival games left and right now that they see the market is there for them, finally professional development.. DayZ SA fun game on a bad engine, we need a fun game on a good engine.... Valve,EA,Rockstar.....pls -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
ASDF991 replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
Good luck Mr.Rocket. I'll send my CV in tomorrow for the position of lead developer of DayZ. I once made a game on the T-83 calculator, I'm overqualified TBH... B) -
Just a fun little video I made.
-
Where is this mystical town where geared people have intense firefights 24/7? I only have an iPhone, oh well, I guess I'll stick to DayZ Thanks for watching lol their insults are just funny to me, it's just a game people.. B)

Concretely: what differs the pro from the noob?
ASDF991 replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in New Player Discussion
survival is trivial and easy at this point of the games development, the only real thing that differs anyone is if they know how to press page up and page down to correctly zero a gun..lmao... you will not believe how many fail to do so and end up missing you from close range.
