yes always aim for the head with the mosien, so frustrating to watch someone slip away when I miss their head and hit their body. Honestly the Moisen should auto 1 hit kill body/head...50/50 on arms and legs if you die or not.. -
Character progression is a complete mistake to add to the game, ruins the entire DayZ formula and leaves it open to exploitation to the max..ugh.....

yeah the Mosien in the SA has a bit of a learning curve, the Mod had such better sniping weapons. All I did was go to an empty server with zombies around and practiced shooting at 100m,200m,300m, ect...all the way up to 800-900M. Berizino was good for this. Then the Mosien became EZ mode to hit people from 700-800M away with headshots.

first learn how to zero the gun, without correct zeroing you will never hit anyone. Then learn to shoot a bit above and to the right of the target, the Moisen shoots like that Then play around with FOV settings, with a LRS and a FOV at 0 you can see so much better be sure to have compensator and bipod attachments Once you get the hang of it it's ez mode

The game is not centered around anything, it's a sandbox, any and all play styles fit into the game. The mod had the whole "making zombies a threat period" for awhile, go and look at how well that did...lol...failed. All I am saying is a very small minority is playing the game for PvE reasons, there are games that blow DayZ out of the water in that aspect, the devs would be making a mistake to buff zombies to something crazy.

one of the largest mistakes the devs can make is to make the zombies an actual threat in the game, a very small minority is playing DayZ for PVE reasons, the game is centered around PVP combat. I'd be fine if zombies were eliminated from the game, call it DayKOS....

freshly restarted server, NE airfield ATC and the 2 hangers = easy to get one.

There are 2 types of "baddies", those who are new to the game and somehow manage to miss you 50m away unloading their M4 into you and people like me who one shot you from 600-800m away, your gear is never looted by me, believe it or not some people just enjoy ranged combat. If the game dev's didn't want to encourage players like me then they wouldn't have made the mosin the most powerful gun in the game and then gave it the most powerful weapon attachment the long ranged scope....even the nerfed spawn rate is not really a problem if you know where to look. -
After playing 500+ hrs of the mod with no mic I became conditioned to play DayZ without speaking, so now in the SA when I actually have a mic I find it really weird to actually use it since I'm so used to just KOS'ing everyone. Just do what I do, grab a mosin,100 rounds, LRS and a decent place to camp and murder everything you see, game is fantastic to be a KOS sniper currently, never gets boring.

Never seen so many closed doors in the airfields the now post patch, the timer is meaningless when the devs managed to get 90% of people to stop server hopping, those dedicated to the craft are making out better then ever. If this was the Dev's intention then bravo....

I can see around solid walls in real life by using my 3rd person abilities, so it only makes sense I can use it in DayZ.... B) I can't stand first person only in shooting games, I will always play 3rd person servers and exploit every angle I can to kill you. Anyone remember in the early days of the mod years ago when there was a spot in the NE airfield where 3rd person could be abused so much you could see the entire airfield from a huge distance away..those were the days..

Guns in the SA are to easy to figure out currently, nothing needs fixing, no gun will hit directly where the sights are at. -
Terrible idea, DayZ suddenly becomes a race to grind books for skills.

Wrong, the mod thrived for 2 years and continues to thrive with no progression aspects added. There is no need for it in DayZ, none at all. The biggest mistake they could make in the SA is moving towards progression aspects.

Ammo spawns in buckets on the servers, I can fully deck out my char with every slot with ammo even on high pop servers in less then an hour... changes nothing -

All you would be doing is adding a second layer to server hopping, first you server hop an area where multiple lockpicks spawn then you server hop the different airfields for gear. -

not all aspects of the patch are bad, I strongly dislike the direction the devs have taken in regards to server hopping and combat logging. Logout timers that count down while ingame and making gear spawn client side instead of server side would make me happy, but it's not the direction the devs want. The new patch effectively forces you to play a low population server to obtain military gear or play on a high pop server and run more pointlessly in the barren north....which would be fine if vehicles were in the game but they are not at the moment...

something something Alpha..... but yes I agree the game has been very unstable over the past 2 patches with some noticeable downgrades to quality of entertainment to the game. Hopefully devs can get back on track.

yes encountered this issue several times tonight, normally I don't bother to loot whoever I kill but I noticed the bodies were gone very quickly.

why do you assume some random stranger wants to do something ridiculous for you? I never enter a coastal city without a loaded firearm to prevent stuff like this. -

People who want to constantly interact ruin the game, ARMA's combat engine is fantastic, so engage me in a firefight instead of screaming friendly at me, I'm just going to shoot you anyway. -
SKS is garbage with no option to add a LR scope(which was a completely dumb decision), it's funny how you can find so many of them in every town up north, nobody wants this gun without the ability to put a LR scope on it. After murdering 8 people in the electro hospital tonight with it I have to say it's pretty powerful close range weapon
