I just discovered 'healing' and 'healthy' too. It's great, and I finally got the vaguely-washed-out look of my screen to go away after two days, since now I know when to keep/stop eating. I'll have to keep an eye out for 'hydrated' too...but first I need a canteen!

My...second death? I think? I was just starting to make progress, looting through Elektro I think, and was stupid enough to go sprinting about on the upper floor of an apartment building. Went right through the wall (out a window?) and came crashing down onto the street. My fourth death I logged out on the upper floor of one of those only-upper-floor green houses...which I know is stupid as all hell. Logged back in the next day INSIDE the foundation. I couldn't get out, tried jumping from under the stairs, etc. Eventually a zombie found me and ran over (thank god for no clipping zombles, amirite?) but...apparently he decided he liked me? He'd run around pushing at me and sliding me around within my little invisible-wall-prison, but never actually attacked. Eventually I wedged into a corner and my zombie buddy huddled close, just staring, while I stood there for about four hours and waited to die of starvation. Just staring, his dead eyes and hanging jaw mocking my slow pain.

This is all really good to know - thanks to you all! I've got a nasty case of grayscale-but-clear -vision and was vaguely worried because despite eating and drinking, I didn't see 'healthy'. I do have vitamins though so I'll start using them as well, and try to just keep gorging as best I can.

Thanks for the welcome TedZ! Alas I have had to vacate my pond. I logged out in a building beside it and when I came back I spawned submerged in the foundation. I can't get out, and for whatever reason it won't let me hit the respawn button. I'm entirely encased so even if someone did come by they couldn't kill me...I'm just sitting here waiting to die of thirst now, all of ten feet from my pond. EDIT: I tried to take out one of my rocks to bash at the walls aimlessly but I glitched right through them so I'm free! Freeeee!

This happened to me with essentially all the zombies I killed over a few runs. Of course, I just assumed it was normal at the time. *shrug*

Hey folks. M.Rose here. Just started playing DayZ today, already having a blast. Played almost three hours before even seeing another person, then was immediately run outta Elektrozavodsk! Woo hoo! I have literally more rotten fruit than I can carry and seem to have taken up residence in a pond somewhere because I can't go ten steps without being thirsty. It's a nice pond though. Russia appears to be lacking in the alligator department.
