Best loot run for all new players
manchinglam replied to wolf-yiggy's topic in New Player Discussion
On a high population server? -
Most of the time you either run or fight, and peace is either a delicate art of preemption or random luck. Dayz is defined by the eternal feeling of insecurity, dun throw that away.
-
Without KOS what would Dayz be? A lot of people dun understand this is a new genre of games and still expect Dayz to follow the path of older games.
-
Are you expecting an equalizer in a zombie apocalypse? Like a superhero punishing bandits as in movies or points change as in other games? KOS is a means to survive, I hate to say this but if you can't adapt to the law of jungle then F11 would be the only in-game relief.

There is no way to tell if a player is friendly or not without revealing your position if you are alone, betting on the safe side can at least make me live one more day.

How to locate where people are shooting?
manchinglam replied to Mukaparska's topic in General Discussion
One's ears are still working despite the screen says "You're dead." Only in Dayz... -
How to locate where people are shooting?
manchinglam replied to Mukaparska's topic in General Discussion
Bullet travels faster than sound, and the delay becomes significant at a long distance. As the military adage says, if you hear the shot, you're still alive... May be it can be implemented in Dayz too? -

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
manchinglam replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Agreed. I surely want to drink some Vodka too. -
I dun think any server can support that many zombies at this stage. This is the exact reason why there are so few zombies and Dean's team are trying to shift some workload to the client side. I believe the current zombie number is capped at the level at which server performance would not be hampered. Anyway, I do wish there could be way more zombies, how the hell did the world get ruined by such number of zombies?

Seems interesting. Clans barricading a particular building would then focus on the entrance rather than being distracted by suspicious ghosting - a good deal of realism. My question is what level of firepower are we going to need to break that barricade? Fireaxe? Shotgun? RPG? C4? Grenade? To be honest, I only like the first two options. Not all survivors would have the military knowledge to use others.

Berezino awaits you with lots of bullets I agree with you, as a lone wolf it could be boring at times but in a weird way I am attracted by the sense of loneliness provided by this game. Running from town to town, you begin to experience the hopelessness since there is obviously no end to this apocalypse, no safe zone, no more civilization, no nothing. Then all of a sudden you run into someone. Adrenaline comes in. I would suggest you to find a clan or play with buddies to see if the game can give you more, but it didn't work well for me. Too many people resulted in chaos and frequent teamkills. For the moment I tend to stay alone or play with a friend of mine, exploring the meaning to survive in an obliterated world is more interesting than gunfights to me.

Why is the Sporter .22 so underpowered?
manchinglam replied to frenchy789's topic in General Discussion
.22 rounds are only reasonably lethal when you are aiming for the head, if you just want to hit the Zed's body you will need 5 shots on average in my experience. -
Is Dayz standalone even relevant anymore?
manchinglam replied to 2gunz's topic in General Discussion
Go play COD plz. You will probably be more satisfied if there is a real time mini-map pinpointing the enemies so that you can camp like in any regular FPS game. And the list will certainly go on: 1. Spawn in a designated zone where you are already equipped with selected weapons so that you can jump right into combat. 2. You can unlock weapons as you are leveling up. 3. More kills, more money, yeah vendors! Counter Strike is back! 4. You name it. In a way I hope Dayz can enforce a restriction on players' age so that maturity would not be crowded out here. -
Why aren't there 'fat' characters in DayZ?
manchinglam replied to TheMachine's topic in General Discussion
All countries have fat people, Chernarus should be no exception. It could be available for survivors and zeds(but no boomer plz), seeing everyone in the game with a top physique is kind of against reality. After all, they are just a cross-section of today's Russians. Oh well, may be some octogenarian zeds too.
